7empest is a music orgasm. You go through this journey with the music, it builds and builds and crescendos and then you come down from it, feel it wash over you. This whole album, and this song specifically, you can hear the culmination of their entire career. Pick apart different eras of tool in each song. Its truly a work of art if you know how to appreciate it.
@tonyjones28544 жыл бұрын
Great video brother. I think this song is the first time in 25 years we really get to focus on Adam Jones the individual. This is very much a guitar song where he gets to shine. Typically, TOOL plays as a unit, with no particular member inhabiting the spotlight. This is one of those few great exceptions where the band lets one fella carry the show. Hats off to Adam for a masterpiece!

With instrumentalists like danny & justin in the band, its hard to catch individual attention but if you listen to his guitar parts carefully you would agree that he is a genius with great sense of timing and dynamics. Also their synergy is so strong that it feels like they are born to make music together :)
@Mazzini114 жыл бұрын
7empest continually makes the rounds as my favorite song from the newest album. I feel like the initial listen is to focus on the guitar, which is SICK, but, then, if you focus on Danny Carey, you realize it's not just Adam's magnum opus, it's possibly Danny's as well. My favorite part of this song is that it feels like you have every style of Tool over their existence, in one song. It sounds like a Tool song more than anything else. Fuck the "sounds like" shit. Great reaction as always bro!

nice set up you got there bro. now if you could please program that thing to drip down in time to the tune, incorporating the time signature changes, we'd all be a lot happier ;) i think it's fair to say that the sound has been glossed to hell and that shine gives the band a more commercial, or at least more digestible sound, but then they serve up a 5 minute solo section culminating in Adam ripping his guitar to shreds, and further signature headpounding rhythmatics during the 'tempest' section when the song is ten minutes in and there's still six minutes left. there's commercial, and there's that.

Hi Inkface, out of interest do you always listen via earbuds or do you also have access to higher end audio? Reason I ask is that when Fear Innoculum album was released I was disappointed compared to previous Tool albums. Sure there were great songs played by amazing musicians, but to me it was lacking the amazing depth that I associate with Tool. I am of course talking utter bollox here, but I didn't truly appreciate this album until I enabled streaming into ye olde stereo system. My problem had been that it wasn't available on CD so I'd been listening via mobile phone and earbuds. Once I heard the album through my valve amps it just totally tripped me out, there at last was the holographic imagery and hallucinogenic soundscapes that I'd expected to hear (with no pharmaceutical assistance required). I can see from your reaction in this vid that there are times when your eyes are tightly shut while your fore-brain is really starting to fizz, so if you can get the chance to hear this album via a quality system you may well discover just how deep into a trance/trip state it can take you. Now my problem is that the Post Office strike is delaying delivery of my vinyl copy. Ah cmon guys, hurry up... it's going to be insanely good when it gets here! (Happy Christmas!)

Also dude I dont want to be the same as every other reaction channel a huge number of my subs actually prefer the pausing to get my perspective so I cant please every single person all the time I suppose.
