@@drakonianera8303 The only thing I could maybe compare them with, from the feeling side, is Queen in the 80's. But it's different. Queen made me feel great leaving the show, powerfull, but Tool ads some kind of change inside of you to that feeling. You feel great and small at the same time, confused and enlighted, a feeling that is very hard to discribe...

All Tool songs grow on you over time. First listen is never the same as the 5th or 10th or 100th. The first time i heard this song it was almost overwhelming and I wasn't sure what to think. After 50+ listens I love this track and truly can't wait until the album drops. This song feels like an intro to the album, leading into a song that will hit extremely hard. And that wasn't a cello, it was the guitar.

Tool "unchanging" lol good one 😂👍 It takes a while to get into Tool though, if you think a single session will be enough to grasp all the intricate little delicacies you're way outta your depth... And yeah another thing that totally butchers the experience is pausing every other minute, renders it kinda pointless, try again on your own and REALLY immerse yourself... Anyway I got into Tool by my own back in the day, noone hyped 'em up for me, but are Tool really "mainstream"??? That's very much not the case where I come from, are they mainstream in USA? I usually tend to diss mainstream stuff as well... But yeah with the new album coming out and all they do seem bigger than I thought, which I'm glad for ofc... But mainstream? Seriously?? They are my favorite band and they're also the band which took me the longest time to get into and to my understanding people often don't have that kinda patience/inner peace... Maynard himself explains pretty good in the Salival version of Pushit, check it out 😎👉

I have tried so many times with Tool. I've tried to listen to this track several times and only managed to get all the way through this time with you. My problems are that they are unremittingly miserable with everything in the minor key. I struggle with their lyrics, they seem to be mostly stream of consciousness with a lot of big or 'profound' words thrown around for no particular reason, though I appreciate they are getting away from the verse, verse, chorus, verse structure which can be annoyingly predictable. Musically they are good though I don't see anything they are doing that many other, in my view better, bands aren't doing. I'm frustrated because I think I'm missing out somehow so will keep trying but after 20+ years...
