Pablo said it best- kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnqyo5Kjmdd-o5o . "It is only when the person begins to hear and see as if he were INSIDE the scene, Not as something presented to him, that he is able to discover many things. There is nothing he is not able find out. I saw how the world was created, how everything is full with life, how the Great Spirits intervene in every aspect of Nature and make the Universe expand. I was like a tourist, always asking the Spirits what is this and what is that, asking them to take me from one place to the other, demanding explanations for everything. The world is multifaceted, so mysterious and unfathomable that it is beyond imagination. I also understood that human beings will never be happy until they realize their connection with the creator and the Spiritual dimensions.” -- Pablo Amaringo (Ayahuasca Shaman and Artist). This might sound strange but Tool's albums have seemed to come out just when I needed them most in my life. Undertow when I was a teen who didn't fit in, Aenima when I was a smart mouthed misanthropic teen, Lateralus as I became a young adult looking to find my path, and 10,000 days as my mother was dying of cancer. I'm not saying there's some mystical connection but their evolution as people has seemed to yield lessons that I have been able to benefit from when I came to that next part of my life. Not sure what Fear Inoculum will reveal to me just yet but I'm sure in time it will be revealed.

01:36 😆 10:31 Actually, that's the way the band wants it to be like since the beginning. They want their music to come before their individual personalities/private lives. Nowadays with so much information available about the members on the internet, it has reduced the aura of mysteriousness around the band a bit, which, to me, has always been an unwavering appeal of Tool's music. 11:19 Maynard in his regal, "hand-in-waistcoat/hidden hand" Masonic pose. 12:42 Lateralus is my favourite song, too. 🙌 It was nice to hear your thoughts about Tool and how their music has been so influential in your life and has fuelled your personal growth. They are my favourite band. 🧡

Great music is therapy. Tool got me through high school, even if I was never quite depressed back then, but I might be now, and the excitement I've gotten from this album has helped stave off deeper depression. I don't care if it's their best album or not. It's therapy.

Awesome to hear how much of a fan you are. I've been listening to Tool since they came out pretty much and Fear Inoculum to me is the perfect blend of their original sound wrapped up in a beautiful progression of the echos and vibes of Lateralus and 10,000 Days. Amazing video, and personal story. Glad to hear you're a lot happier now in your life.

I love Tool. The first music video which ever intrigued me was Schism. I was 12 years old when that video came out and I remember watching it on MTV thinking how fucked up yet how beautiful it was. It only makes me happier knowing that the band members are highly influenced by esoterism and frequently use occult imagery in their songs and visuals.

Tool was my favorite band for a long time, but I felt cheap at some point being pensive about spirituality and higher planes of existence. That may have coincided with a long period where Tool and other bands I liked weren't releasing new music. I struggled a lot with what thoughts you were having, and I wasn't able to shake them with a shift in my spiritual paradigm. A lot of dark times and getting on the right medicine set those things straight. Now I listened to this new album since release and can say it completely renewed my interest in Tool and even in considering spiritual methods of living and philosophical thought. I wouldn't say this album's a farewell, but rather something intense, with long enough tracks, and progressive enough to keep the mind busy and satisfied until there is a next album, or an A Perfect Circle or Puscifer release. But if you are right and Tool doesn't record another album, then this effort is definitely a closing that will suffice.

I love your explanation of the new album and your passion towards this band. Everything you’ve said I’ve totally felt. I’ve been listening to Tool practically ever since they showed face. But I just started playing guitar a couple years ago and my buddy told you want to become the best guitarist you can be listen to tool, play tool and feel it in every ounce of your being. And I feel every word you use to describe this band. I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing the insight it is indescribably perfect the way you did. Thanks again. 🤘🏻 Tool for life.

My favorite thing about this video, as a big fan and music nerd, is the amount of respect I see in the comments section. Seriously, go look at videos of a young woman reviewing most albums, and the comment section is disgusting. As a Tool fanatic, I like to think of us as better than the neck-bearded basement-dwellers. Great review and thanks to the male fans for not being total creeps.

I discovered Tool when I was 18 (44 now). I had spent my entire life up to that point deeply depressed and suicidal, and I lived in a really bad situation (psycho family). I tried magic mushrooms literally 2 months after hearing Undertow for the first time - so while there wasn't really any songs on that album that referred to self understanding, etc, both the psychedelics and that album played a huge role in pushing me to take proactive actions that began a path towards healing... Initially, my journey saw me leave home, no plan, almost no money, just a desire to be free, and I left home - which was on an island in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland - to end up being homeless sleeping on the streets of Edinburgh... My only possession, other than my clothes and a sleeping bag, was a Walkman with Undertow on tape. This happened in November. I spent the next 6 months surviving, begging enough money to eat, sitting in the freezing cold, and that album is literally what kept me alive... That was my only connection to something that seems to understand the pain I felt, and be able to articulate it. After those 6 months, I was able to get my head together enough to start sorting things out, and within another 6 months I had managed to get my own flat, shared with a few others. I got into the club scene, discovered ecstasy and acid, and got really into experimenting with drugs and reading about psychedelics. Then when I was 20, Ænima came out - and I was completely blown away. That album, coming out at that point in my life, was an absolute game changer! It gave me direction down the path of healing that I wanted to follow, and helped me move in the right direction. I've had my fair share of spiritual experiences over the years too, some were while completely sober. I had this moment where my consciousness seemed to fill a sphere about a meter wide, centred on my head, and I was hyper aware of every minute detail of everything within that sphere... The experience was totally profound, and led me to start learning about Buddhism, which has pictures of people with spheres (well, circles - but I think what I experienced is what they're trying to show in these pictures) around their heads. I can honestly say I wouldn't be anywhere near as happy as I am now - depression free for many years, etc - without their music. Their music is a tool, a tool for fixing broken people, and I think this is why it resonates with so many people. I love the new album, I bought two copies of the one you've got, one for me and one for my best friend, and I was lucky enough to get to see them at Download in the UK last summer 😊 my friend went to Jerome and she brought back a couple of bottles of wine a few years back, and it's without a doubt THE best wine I've ever tasted - I'm not even being biased... I've got a ticket to watch Puscifer next week, and I'm really excited for that! They've only been to the UK once, and I was at that gig too 😊 I'm a big fan of Puscifer as well. Wishing you all the best, take care 😊

Ive had a very similar experience with TOOL. Wasnt easy at first for me to understand but the rythm kept my attention for awhile then life happened and wasnt in a good place. One night highly depressed and jamming on my roommate's computer, just here on KZbin TOOL- eulogy started playing with the lyrics on screen. Ive heard this song several times on the radio but now im finally seeing what being said. Then i was searching all TOOL songs with the lyrics on screen and quickly became obsessed. It came to me at a point in my life where i really needed to hear it the most and it completely changed my life. I love to see these videos especially about TOOL that helped and changed lives.

It's a fantastic time to be a Tool fan! We FINALLY got the album that has been promised to us for over a decade now, all of Tool's music is digital. Hell, APC released Eat The Elephant last year, and although it wasn't too accepted by fans, I love it. I love your reaction, and as a huge fan of Tool's, I can totally relate. I've seen them live twice, but I won't be seeing them this tour. Not with nosebleed seats being upwards of $300.00 a piece, ffs. *Spiral out, Taylor Marie!*

Thanks for sharing your Tool journey. My best friend gave me his copy of Undertow when we were 13 years old (this was in 1996) because he didn't care for it (he has since come around). I slept with that album on rotation in my 3 disc stereo until I got Aenima later that year and have been obsessed ever since. I skipped school my senior year to go get Lateralus the day it released. I also play music and had a band in high school that covered H. in our junior year talent show and 46&2 our senior year. Tool has had such a huge influence on so many people and we are so fortunate to be able to witness their greatness! Cheers!

So last year I bought a couple of their CDs just to see what all the fuss was about... Their music is so majestic... It often feels as though I'm watching a movie while listening to their music. I actually found out about Tool when i was about 19-ish, thanks to when Guitar Hero 4 World Tour came out lol. I felt stupid in not having been into many alternative rock or prog metal (or most metal) until i was nearly 20. Still i know it is never too late in discovering, or in the case of Tool, unearthing their music. I guess that means i too was part of the fan base waiting many years for this new album and i for one can ultimately say they actually stayed true to form. Good on them! They actually managed to somehow not skip a beat and garnered several dozens of listens by me (what can i say; it is that good of an album). Stand out tracks? All of them lol. I much prefer the physical CD version (which i do own thankfully). Not having those three interludes actually helped the flow of this album a lot better. But i think i must be fair and say my two top tracks off it are Pneuma and Culling Voices. All in all, this album as a whole is as good as the rest of their discography.

Not sure if you ever had a chance too see them live, i saw them summer this year in the UK and it was literally the most surreal experience i have ever felt. The crowd was just in this tantric dancing state and when they started playing invincible and Decending everyone just shut up stopped singing and just bobbed their heads. It was so surreal. Its so hard to explain it, they weren't the best showmans of the festival but they played the best gig. I fucking love this band and barely listened to anything else for 2 weeks. UNREAL!

The Aenima and Lateralus albums will always be my favorites of theirs, since I also started listening to them as a teenager ( I'm 32 now, and the lyrics to Parabol/Parabola, Lateralus, and The Patient are still really inspiring to me), but the new album is great! Especially on a musical level. Insane drumming, bass and guitar riffs. The songs are long, but they never drag on too long, since they're always switching it up throughout the songs.

Thank God you didn't apologize for not posting videos in awhile. I get so sick of that. Feel you on the Tool. Feel you on this seems like the last hurrah. I'd rather they just put out another couple of albums in the next five years without trying so freaking hard. It would be incredible no matter what they do. And you know, sometimes overthinking/overanalyzing.... hurts.

You were already (in my opinion) the most intriguing person on KZbin. Your bravery and ability to relay your experiences is amazing. Then to find out you love the best band ever was too much. I've loved Tool for many years and being a musician I have a truly deep appreciation for their musical abilities. Not sure if there is a word for the impact they've had on me. Hope to see more vids again and more often 😉

Beautiful to hear! Tool has had such a profound impact on so many people that it's hard to believe, particularly with those not familiar with their music. It certainly changed my life as well. I can only liken it to a meteor that crashed into the Earth. It changed everything, including the direction of my life. This album is another timely masterpiece that builds upon their already formidable discography, and will continue to inspire and stoke the flames of creative imagination for years to come. I'm happy to hear their hard work has been so well received. Spiral out. Keep going!

Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, music...these are what we stay alive for. I would never feel abashed to say 100% Tool has made my life better and those fleeting moments worth so much more. Im forever in debt and utterly seduced.

Wow Tool also led me to a spiritual awakening (one of many) without any hallucinogens, just stone sober. During their Lateralus tour, my boyfriend at the time was a huge fan and he bought me a ticket to go along with him to the concert. I was like ‘meh ok I’ll go if you want me to’. Basically changed my life in many ways and birthed me into the next phase of my spiritual evolution. I love your trip experience videos. Just discovered them today and have been watching them. ✌🏻

Dude I completely understand and sympathize. I first got huge on Tool after seeing them live at 16 and it changed my life. And then after falling into different types of social groups and music I rediscovered their power after being pretty psychologically damaged. I had a spiritual experience to the grudge on the beach and it made that scene where jesus gets his feces turned into gold by the alchemist in the holy mountain make alot more sense. But I relate to this so much because I can wholeheartedly say that, if it wasn’t for that experience and it realigning my path, I would probably be dead or in prison from a lust for justice and revenge. Much love dude and glad you’re happy with the CD.

I had ADHD and Dislexia only thing weirder then me was Tool, schism I seen as a kid in the late 90s early 2000s, I thought it was the weirdest thing I seen, and the best music I had heard, after trying to cut off my oxygen one day in the bathroom, it was the deepest I had gotten, the teacher ran in, I got the string cut loose, she told me to go to the lady that helps mental teens, well that did no good, she sided with the popular kids to point and laugh, just remember when you get out of school, you prolly won't see most them anymore, but I can relate, I have always been in touch with the spiritual side, I can sometimes hear see and smell things, that other people can't, but I feel like I'm loosing my ability, or maybe blocking it out because I fear it, but I hope this helps someone.

Simply commit to a minimum of 20 Ayahuasca ceremonies with groups of people from around the world. And only then can you possibly ever understand the infinite Spiritual truths of many magical Rock and Heavy Metal bands such as Tool, Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Neurosis, Death, Testamant, Amenra, COC, Epica, Dio, Black Sabbath, Isis, Queensryche, and many more.

I ended up here by accident. I was out looking at random Tool vids. I had a similar experience, but mine was drug induced with shrooms. In my opinion, that doesn't negate the importance of the experience. No matter how we get there, all that matters is that we got there. I'm happy for you and am glad you reached enlightenment that saved you. High five and rock on! Side note: I had a trifecta of musical influence in my awakening. 311 + Tool + Pink Floyd = Kory's saviors. Just thought I'd share this.

YUS! I also grew up with Tool. My brother would always listen to them around me when I was little. Got super into them once I could understand what everything meant, prob around 14 as well. They absolutely shaped my growing up. Introducing me people like Alex Grey, just completely opening up art to me. Then I found fire spinning through all of that. Now that is my entire life. I owe everything to them. Funny to think how a band can have such an impact on a life. That's some next level shit!
