He's just a guy who found a lot of inspiration from art & literature & thought it might be a good idea to further popularize critical thinking & self actualization. There's nothing new under the sun. He just gave us his own personal take on ideas that have been around forever. He did it in a very compelling way, but, he's only reflecting universal truths. He shouldn't be anyone's personal Jesus; He's just a good example of a person who explores their potential. He advocates discovering your own.

I hate to nitpick, but I'm actually putting into my own words things he has repeated over several interviews. He consistently preaches the wisdom in valuing the message over the messenger. He actually reprimands the fans that idolize him. I've never heard him joke about this particular issue. He talks about how fans that put him on a pedastal are only giving away their personal power by seeing him as something above themselves.

you can very easily compare them...look beyond the superficial music type of each artist, to the theme and point of both of those albums...antisocial, dark, brooding personalities that spin themselves and those around them into a pit of despair, it aint that hard to see the similarities....
