Epic. I've been listening to this song for near on 30 years. First time I've ever watched someone play it. So much going on, yet so little. Adam Jones is a genius. Excellent cover man. I buy my first guitar tomorrow, Epiphone Les Paul Studio. My younger brother was an avid guitarist and musician and sadly took his own life on September 11. I'm inspired to learn guitar, and in particular TOOL songs, as that was our favourite band. No doubt I'll be watching plenty or your vids. Thanks for showing the way.
@benmayo16302 сағат бұрын
Jones does more with less lol highly underrated guitarist. He’s percussive with his right hand it seems. I would rather play like him than anyone else besides maybe David Gilmour. Sorry for the loss of your brother. I don’t know personally but I’m sure that pain is on another level. My brother turned me on to Tool about 5 years ago and I was instantly hooked all because I went to a Tool show with him when he was visiting. I hated them when they first came out and don’t remember why🤦🏻♂️I also just bought my 1,000th guitar (so it seems😆) yesterday. It’s the Adam Jones Epiphone Les Paul Custom. I hope it inspires me to practice a little every day. Take care man

Dude sick playing and a DELICIOUS tone, jesus! *cries in Blackstar Fly 3* xD Your content quality has also increased. Like your multiple camera angles which you've introduced a while ago but I never mentioned it. I also like how at 02:20 your tab sheet slowly moves to the side and the pedals fade in. Its a small thing but its better than having stuff just appear like BAM! Also I am sexually attracted to that guitar and I am not sorry about it 😂 Its today that I realized at 04:10 its not just an up and down pattern. As always, grateful for your contribution as I can't rely on online tabs and your videos have helped me understand things better which makes me a better guitarist everyday. Cheers man! P.s. I am curious, at 04:23 when you do them harmonics, what did you do with your hands? It looked to me as though you were applying pressure on the neck? Is that right?

people who complain about inaccuracy are NPCs lol. For any aspiring guitar players who are interesting enough to want to perform T00L songs, just know that whatever feels and sounds right to you IS right. T00L wants you to interpret their music subjectively, and that doesn't just apply to the lyrics, it also applies to their sound too. Luckily you have resources like this channel to use as a tool, but ultimately its your own choice on how things are played and good for YOU. Thats what makes you different from the real band itself and that will never be a bad thing.

Just found this channel. Always wanted to learn Tool stuff and with these videos it's definitely a possibility :D. I got a question: At 2:20 (for the Bridge) when he puts on Slide and turns on the effect pedals, does he turn off distortion/overdrive? When I play this (limited in gear, dont have all the pedals) the slide part obviously sounds crunchy. I wonder if you have to turn down OD while the effects are on, or if the effects itself remove the crunchy OD sound for that part. Or it is just because his volume is a bit lower at that part and he plays the notes very quietly? Also, are those 3-4 pedals all individually bought pedals (like BOSS Delay) or are those effects all from a software through the audio interface? Sorry, guitar noob here. Trying to figure out how to get that part right.
@the48thvain3 жыл бұрын
Old comment but Adam doesn't use any OD or Dist pedals. He controls all his distortion with the volume knob. The quieter the guitar, the less distortion.
@jteixeira333 жыл бұрын
