Purpose built tools = speed & consistency. Something all important on the track as well as in the pits. Watching you do what you do, and seeing you enjoying doing it, speaks volumes. Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life. Thanks for the videos Stevie! Stay safe , stay well, stay you!

Big difference between a driver that just drives and a driver that knows what hes driving. This is why this team wins so much.

My kids are into racing karts and drag minibikes right now. Speaking of putting heads on, I put a few dollars in chasing the exact cordless impact I needed so it would torque itself 🤣🤣 now in between classes I can swap head gasket sizes and swap heads etc in no time. 💪💪💪

Thank you for taking this down time in racing and using it as a reason to make informative videos on in depth tech and tricks. This is what I need more of. While swanstrom is making real world / road rules videos of his family and going mattress shopping, you are making videos showing us how this stuff works! Please keep making in depth tech videos for us racers that have a desire to learn more about things that we can’t afford yet.

buy yourself an FMB bandsaw and smile every time you make a cut. Also, if you're cutting a register in it to fit in the tube the cut really doesn't matter unless it's so far out of whack you can't get the register you want.

Nice to see you using a little bit of machinery. I’ve worked most my life in our family owned machine shop. So seeing a milling machine and a lathe in the shop was cool.

On real hard materal I perfer to use a Metabo and a cut off wheel. If you want the part fairly straight and i do just use mark the part or materal with what ever you can see ..i dont use my port a band much any more because of my Metabo. I enjoy your videos thanks

C15 Cat head bolts are torqued to 330 ftlbs. You have to hit them twice. I usually go a third time if it sits for a while. They will definitely wear you out!

"I'm gonna show y'all how to ruin bandsaw blades"... Take it from someone who has been cutting and welding hand tools into custom crap for 40 years: Never ever cut hardened steel (like a hex socket) with anything but an abrasive wheel (chopsaw) if you can help it. A 14" chopsaw and a belt sander would've knocked that whole job out in about 20 seconds. Other than that, good job on the tool Stevie, fantastic idea.

As I am not equipped with port a band or power hack YET, I tend to cut a lot of stuff with cutoff wheel, especially something hard like that socket. You and your guys rock

If you had a windshield wiper motor attached to a rubber wheel rubbing against the chuck geared slow. Could you put the lathe in neutral and turn an object slow enough to weld it in the lathe?

Stevie i agree with you on the planning part. Nothing can run your race day quicker than leaving certain tools at the shop or in the wrong tray lol

I don't know if your saw is capable, but if it is you need to move the band roller guides as close to the work piece as possible. Also if you can tell me , what roller lifters do you use and also rockers?

It must be required when you own a Milwaukee porta band that the cover is off for quick blade changes. I don't know if I still have mine. Thanks for the Tool-Time segments. Sincerely Jeff from Western Pennsylvania
@tomkowaljr89624 жыл бұрын
With that length on tubing do you notice any twisting or flex while torquing? May wanna do a stud with the new socket and recheck it using a extinction and socket to see if it effects the torque at all
