Replaced mine last night on an outside double unit. Ac on top heat on bottom. So it wasn’t easy to get to. Remove the circuit board out of the way . Disconnect main power lines. Finding the few hidden screws . So about an hour with a flash light to swap it out and all back together. Y’all don’t forget to pull or turn your breaker off. Great video thanks.

I made a rookie mistake when I was cleaning my inducer lol, I didn't make sure that I could buy the fiberglass gasket by itself. Thank you for confirming that I could use high temp silicone. Awesome video.

The new inducer motor comes with the fume housing and the gasket. It's not just a motor.

I stalled one just last year Winter, it was verry quite, 9 months later, the wheel Is loud again, It was a new one, what can I do to make the wheel quite again?

You said use high temperature silicone on the back of the back of the ventor motor and cooking spray on the face plate where the motor attaches. How do I know if my installer did that? My installer installed a new Packard ventor motor into my carrier furnace, but the quiet spin sound u hear on your video, with mine, I hear a high pitched ringing sound that increases pitch or goes higher once it kicks into the 2nd speed. Yours is quieter. I don't know why the ringing sound that i hear from the inducer motor that travels through the exhaust pipes both connected to furnace and one intersecting into it from the water heater.

Or just get the right gasket. I think he's trying to give people weird/bad advice to make a mess of things. Not hard to find things like furnace gaskets/etc from repair websites.

Super simple and $50 bucks to replace it but if you call an AC/heating repairman to do it they will want $800 dollars to do the work. Then they will recommend you to buy a whole new furnace instead because it's not worth spending all that money to replace it. Since I have 2 furnaces that comes out to an estimate of $12000 dollars. That is what happened to me. Good thing we have youtube for instruction on DYI.

Just happened to me. Said $700 for parts and labor. Said it would be better to get a new furnace. Mine is old and will probably have more issues soon or than later. So I just looked up my specific part online and it’s $250. $400 for labor? Unreal. And this is a reputable company.

Actually the best would be to put a nice layer of Vaseline on there. That way the silicone will not stick to one surface allowing one to remove the assembly easily the next time its necessary.

It is kind of a pain that you can’t just change the motor and not the whole assembly.Why put cooking oil on the back? Wouldnt you want the silicon to stick to the surface ? Wouldnt that be more airtight than if it is not sticking?

You'll probably still know...it's not exactly a very quiet noise...I thought my big blower fan was coming loose and scraping (metal on metal) as it spun and i's down in the basement.
