Yup. Still can’t get through this without crying… but that’s the point. I listen when o need to let out the tears but can’t, and when I need a reminder that we are not alone. Each story like this is different yet the feelings are always the same. It becomes hard to pinpoint why you’re just angry and scared and can’t pull yourself out sometimes when you’re an adult, but it’s because you spend so much time having to hide it, either because you were told to stop lying, or you were told to stop bringing everyone down and ‘blaming others for your shit,’ or because it just hurts too much to let anyone know because you can just see it on their face that they can’t think of anything else about you. The latter is what I hate the most right now for some reason, though it changes. I cannot imagine how much it hurt to go through this and write a song about it, but I’m glad it exists for those of us who were children living a nightmare.

Yeah, Angel Haze expresses the experience and the anger you're left with better than anyone. I know what you mean about the way people look at you and you realise all they see is the fact you were abused. It's not their fault, they just don't know how to deal. I didn't tell anyone when I was at Uni for this reason, and it was the right decision. I wish I could say something that could help. I'm 55 now and went through the therapists and shit in my 30's. It helped in making me aware of the damage the abuse had done to me, but it cannot be fixed. All I can say is that things get easier as time passes, and please try to not let the abuse you suffered as a child define your whole life. As I type I know that doesn't help. Best wishes and don't let the bastards grind you down.

Sorry to see someone else who relates all too well. I first heard this about 7 years ago after going through some adult traumas that made me sort of hit a wall.
