Thanks for the education! If you don't learn something every day, no point in getting out of bed very informational video.

Currently I install and maintain agility and momentum CNG systems along with other things. Im actually in the process of getting crane certified to be a full time crane tech at my current shop. Awesome seeing a video that's actually relevant to me. Keep it up! Subscribed!

Sweet deal Moto. I do miss working on cranes (one of things i did from 2008-2011, then shortly after went to crane school for reserves for seabees, was fun cert to get). Hope you have a good weekend and thank you for watching!

Have you ever forgotten to turn off the gas? Thats one heck of a bang. And VIM sells thin wrenches and they are not bad on the price. Seen at home depot that husky had a set as well for a good price.

Have had to change solenoids on trucks that didnt bleed out between valve and solenoid, makes for nice lil pop as o-ring on solenoid goes out. As for filter, have only heard story of one guy when systems first came out.

Nice vid. Has any improvements been made on the power out put? Thats what kept it from OTR trucks is my understanding. I think I would just stick with diesel if I had to choose, thats probably 2+ decades of driving talking. lol
@BeardedSeabee824 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud! as for power output, would have probably been better had they gone with a 15L displacement instead of the 12L. Also, they have been working out some other bugs in their newer line of the isg12n (we have been testing a couple of them for cummins for few years now. Over all they have been clost to their rated mark of 400hp, but would put that on the lighter end of course. Its just bit of work doing spark plugs and overheads on them religeously of course does help. Fuel wise though they are ALOT cleaner and more economic, they are just more spendy due in part to the tank set ups that they have. Hope yall have had a good weekend!

Great vid! Is CNG easier or more difficult to work on than diesel? At the very least it looks a lot cleaner. Was kind of surprised that a lot of the fasteners are SAE. Sometimes you can get away with cross over sizes that are exact. Like the 33mm and 1 5/16 the 5/8 and 16mm are sister sizes. I am old enough to remember when the 16 and 11mm (7/16) were omitted from new socket sets because they were the same size.

Thank you for watching bill, as for maintenance on them, they do have their ups and downs, upside being without saddle tanks there is a hella lot more room underneath, also there is no after treatment system other than a regular catalyst at the muffler and EGR on the engine side (not that it really needs it as clean as they burn). Biggest back draw is probably due to the engineers (component placements etc). but spark plugs and overheads on them are easy enough to perform and keep eye on. take care and hope you had a good weekend

how dirty do the filters get on regularly serviced vehicles?
@BeardedSeabee824 жыл бұрын
The engine side filters sometimes can get plugged with oil depending on time of year and location of gas depots. But as far as debris on the high pressure filters those typically stay decent.

What cng engines do you guys run? We run the new isx12n in our fleet. Probably about 120 cng's half kw half freightliner. I would love to see component location to see if there's anything I can learn! Thanks
@BeardedSeabee824 жыл бұрын
We have been running a couple of those 12Ns in two of our units for few years now, we were one of the first companies to test them out specifically for cummins. They have had alot of different add ons, updates, and fuel table adjustments for them for a while now. Mostly we run isx12Gs in remainder of our fleet. Unsure about newest purchases yet as they have yet to make it to our shop from our wisconsin locations. The wastegate control valve, fuel regulator and pressure sensor are easier to get to, but the coalescing centrifuge filter is not (need to remove starter to get to it) can see what i can do for you down road on vid for component locations on them.
