@SROD12321 i had always pronounced it with the emphasis on the rapAla too, and i've fished just as long as you...until a few years ago. You ever see the commercial where they show Risto Rapala walking down an alley, a mugger comes up, and he zooms around him with a knife. They go on to say that he's good at carving blah blah blah, and then all the muggers clothes fall off in shreds...??? They pronounce it RAPala, with the emphasis on the Rap...highly doubt a Rapala commercial would misprounounce

All lures are the same when presented to a fish, it wouldn't the difference. Rapalas are pricey but they aren't nearly are expensive as Luckycrafts. But hey... the last fish I caught he didn't ask me what brand lure I caught him with.

yeah and what do u use to catch a 700lb shark, a power action rod with a reel that holds a mile of line. Fly Fishing is just you and the fish with 90ft of line, it is way more challenging and fun

@lexmark136 yeah i got a few rapalas but generally i buy the cheap storm off brand crank baits, i never catch anything off either of the brands but still variety helps, never know

@lexmark136 over priced? yes. doesn't catch a thing? no. i've had husky jerks get torn to pieces in a day of fishing for bluefish. I prefer to use a got-cha, but when they are hitting suspending or diving baits, I grab a rapala HJ or a bomber.

I'm starting to dislike rapala. I fish for pike and perch here in the netherlands. But it seems that rapala starts to forget their original way of producing good quality lures. The only thing these guys make now are x-raps and balsa lures with a bad finish. If you look at the old rapala colours, specially the ones that are silver plated. You see the original quality rapala lures. The ones they make now aren't anyway better than their little sister company storm. R.i.p Rapala.
