They practice there in the Epsilon Chi Center. You should be getting a proper tour of UP. The oval you walked around is 2.2km. The original UP is in Manila. After the WW2, they retained Manila but opened a new one in Diliman there. There were 6 original buildings. The admin Quezon Hall, across it until the Sunken Garden is the Main Library called Gonzalez Hall. Then the 2 twin buildings. The 1st twin is Law called Malcolm Hall and Education called Benitez Hall. The 2nd twin is CSSP or Palma Hall where you may the PolSci students and Engineering or Melchor Hall.

As a UP DIliman student, I just have to watch this when it appeared on my home feed, hahaha! What's funny about what you said at 11:18 about "What if they were famous players in the Philippines?" is kinda true. The guy wearing the black shirt who was sitting at the other table with his black bag and blue juice box is Anton Eusebio, and he was part of the UP Fighting Maroons Men's Basketball team that won the UAAP Season 84 Men's Basketball championship last May 13, 2022. It was a historic win for UP after 36 long years. UAAP by the way is one of the top university/collegiate level basketball leagues in the Philippines. Meanwhile, the curly-haired guy wearing the black vest with "strong" written on it, I think is Francis 'LeBron' Lopez, a new recruit to our UP basketball team. He was part of the Gilas Pilipinas team that played against Indonesia for the FIBA World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers. He is also a champion for his previous school team, the Ateneo Blue Eagles Men's Basketball team. Anyway, that's the info I can contribute here. Hope you had fun in our campus!

Hi Seungha, you can ignore those kids watching you eating near Rodics and just say sorry. They stay there daily and makes it a living asking for barya (coins) or food. The sad part is if you give them something, they will call their other friends and they will also ask the same. Better to avoid them. Since UP is big and open to the public those wandering kids can easily come and go around the university. Please come back to UP and try it early morning (before 8am) because the academic oval is open for running, walking and biking. You can also see a lot of people (outsiders) during weekends and holidays as it is open for everyone. You have only visited just a tiny part of the university. You can ride a UP Ikot jeep (12 pesos) and go around its perimeters.
@nicolieperez Жыл бұрын
Sometimes they just want to hang out. I experienced the same thing and told the kids outright that I'm not giving them money, but I can hang out and have a conversation with them. One of them actually ended up becoming a friend and I regularly hung out with him throughout my 5 years studying in UP, I never once gave him barya.
@kilometer6712 Жыл бұрын
@@nicolieperez yeah good thing. When you really hang out with kids like them you could listen to their stories and you'll know how you can help them or give them encouragements. Ignoring them wouldn't help them and what's being UP student and not see their problems why they were there wandering

Nice to see you in UP 😃 Usually universities in the Phil have known specializations..so UP is more known for Law, Math. I remember one of my late aunts had her Doctorate in Physics at UP. But there are other courses as you have seen. Before, one has to pass National College Entrance Exam then have to pass individual admission test of each University. But it has changed through the years, so it was a surprise to me hearing in your video due to the pandemic there was no admission test. Guess just have to adjust as situation calls for it. The student you met whom you were borrowing a bike, she got embarrassed because she uttered an expletive in tagalog unintentionally and was asking you to edit it out later. 🙂 For Math and Engineering courses, it is Mapua Institute of Technology, UST for Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy. University of the East for Commerce courses and so on. Another noted university for Law courses is Ateneo de Manila. Dela Salle University is a private university that offers various disciplines too. Typically most of the concentration of universities is in Manila itself. UST (University of Santo Tomas) being the oldest existing university in Asia, founded in 1611, is in Espana, Manila, just a tad away from the main university belt area. My mom and other elders, as well as me and some of my silbings have UST as our alma mater. Would love to see you explore more universities around Manila. Btw, this 2023, Holy Week commences April 2, so plan you trips, as many people start travelling ahead during this week to take advantage of the long weekend. Many stores may close or have shortened hours starting Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday. Have a nice day!

Seungha, if you'd like to have an idea of what the UP College Admissions Tests (UPCAT) are like, you can check out the UPCAT reviewers at bookstores or at libraries. There are also other reviewers for the other universities' entrance exams like the ACET (Ateneo), DLSUCET (De La Salle) and USTET (University of Sto. Tomas). The UPCAT is scored on a "right minus wrong" basis, but I don't think it's the same for the other universities. We do not have a counterpart of the suneung here in the Philippines, so each university has its own entrance exams. I hope you'll be able to teach more Filipino students! :-)

There's also a UP in Los Baños, Laguna. Try going here. You can even hike because we have a Forestry course where our laboratory classes are done within the mountain of Makiling.

You're really kind to feed those children. :) I think that you are really intellgent to be able to author a Math book. Perhaps, if you go to the UP campus next time, try visiting the Math building. You can meet some Math geniuses like yourself there. :)

One of the athlete he interviewed was Chicco Briones, son of former PBA player Lowell Briones. He is said to be standing at 6'6. Overall, majority of UPMBT are taller than 6'0.

I'm glad you helped that student in calculus. I really feel he's bothered with his mistake and confused with where he got it wrong
@kilometer6712 Жыл бұрын
The best and good thing of Calculus is you must have strong memory to all the right sequences at 100% correct and get the final correct answer. Yeah I know it at the university coz our prof she was good in explaining 😂 Right ba Boo?

6:58 correction, I think he means Geodetic Engineering. It is a course to measure spatial data on the surface of the earth using appropriate technologies and precision instruments.

Bro you just met a pba player, Sean Anthony and he plays for PBA, the most famous basketball league in the country like KBL in your country. His current team is NLEX road warriors. And you also met Lebron Lopez one of the young players who plays in the Philippine national team in basketball the Gilas Pilipinas. That kid is so good. He's so athletic and became famous in his highlight dunks. You're so lucky that you met them.

i'm thankful to you that you appreciates our country for 10 yrs , UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES is our best university sought after in each of us filipinos but of course it is also in our history but before we can get to study at UP UNIVERSITY we have to take the entrance exam and the exam is not really easy to pass because of standard over all scores after you take the exam , if you read about our history about schools we have so many old schools that are during world war 1 and 2 , i hope you can check our other university schools here just try like UST ( UNIVERSITY OF SANTO TOMAS ) , ATENEO UNIVERSITY , DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY , and others... i hope you will have a nice day and thank you ... GOD BLESS 😊🙏

The female student you borrowed your bike from used a very bad word or expression, and she's asking you to cut or omit that part. Very Funny! Review that part Seungha, it's quite amusing.

You can try to be a teacher in UP and other universities. I think Koreans, Filipinos and other Asians should impart and exchange their knowledge towards several subjects.

As a student of UPB, I haven't met a foreign instructor teach in UP and I don't think the UP system would even allow him. But if he were to become one, he would at least need to be able to speak English to be able to teach. Some courses in Diliman for example, BA History, would require a student to be good in Filipino since all lectures, as far as I'm aware are being delivered thoroughly in Filipino language. I don't know much about Stem-related courses though I think it would be more lenient language-wise? Anyway, the closest he can get though from what I've seen is to be invited as a speaker for a specific lecture for example.
