New and improved version: 1970- Layla -Eric Clapton 1971- Behind Blue Eyes -The Who 1972- Smoke On The Water -Deep Purple 1973- No Quarter -Led Zeppelin 1974- Working Man -Rush 1975- In My Time of Dying -Led Zeppelin 1976- Smokin' -Boston 1977- Going fo The One -Yes 1978- Eruption (da finger tap) -Van Halen 1979- In The Flesh -Pink Floyd I felt most bad for taking Sultans of Swing and Walk This Way out, but I mean come on. How could they compete with some of Led Zeppelin's and Van Halen's finest riffs? Also Smoke on The Water is the only legitimate ranking on the original list so it made this one too.

Great playing, need to note be it hard or fairly easy it is the creation of these riffs/songs that is the amazing part....if someone or ten million people like it that is the success of any music piece.......example, John Fogerty 50 years of rather simple guitar riffs that fit his songs like a glove and are loved by millions...

The 1st riff is from the 60s. 1970 was the last year of the 60s. It is 1BC 1AD, there is no year 0.
