OneUnited is the oldest black owned bank. They have locations all over. If there’s not one close to you, you can still open an account. I have accounts with credit unions everywhere being a Veteran. Most notably USAA, they have few brick and mortar locations but banking with them is easy.

Black people (including some of my relatives) need to know it's more important that a child has educational tools as opposed to the latest $200 pair of sneakers. Forbes has never listed Mrs Shank on their list. I personally believe that she is a billionaire but we use Forbes as our trusted source of millionaire/billionaire status since that’s their lane. They have a very complex system for gathering financial data and a sophisticated methodology for calculating. Frankly, I thk Shank and a dozen other black billionaires simply don’t want to be in the public eye as such and are very content with never making such a high profile list.
