Blatant LIE alert.. Oradea has never seen better days in the past than today, even 10 years ago, but actually a lot more horrible days, during Hungary. In the last 100 years the population increased almost 5 times, from a total of 58,000 in 1918 to 249,000 today. Due to heavy industrialization of cities as part of Romania, population migrated from the nearby villages to work in the new factories in towns. Out of 58k population before 1918, 33k were actually Jewish, registered as Hungarians. Between 1940 - April 1944, all these 33k Jews were no longer considered Hungarians and were gas chambers by the Horthist Hungarian regime, when Hungary got north west Transylvania, between Sep 1940 - Oct 1944, due to 2nd Vienna dictate. In these 4 years of occupation the Hungarians immediately moved to what they know best. Repression of Romanian majority, genocide of entire villages, closing of Romanian schools and changing of Romanian names to Hungarian. Like all my north Transylvanian family had the names changed in documents into Hungarian. So the sort of 'better times' you talking about can be duly proven and documented today. Compared to that Hungarian mess, when Romanians were not even allowed to enter towns for centuries, since part of Romania the Hungarian minority are treated like more than equal brothers and they have all the minority rights in the world. Free education in Hungarian up to university, 32 members in Romanian parliament 7%, for a 5% minority, always participating at governing the country. That's what I'd call perfect rights. So if you skip the 33,000 Jewish, gas chambers by the Hungarians at the outskirts of Oradea, during WW2, you will get the real figures of Hungarian population, about 11-15,000 before 1918, as there were also Armenian considered directly Hungarians, while the Hungarian population of Oradea has grown to 45k to 48k or 20-23% today. So Oradea was nothing like today even 10 years ago,. This Liberal administration of Bihor county did a lot of great things and projects in recent years. So please don't spread lies about Oradea in here!

Each of these cities represents a different culture and people's history. All of them are built by hungarians. Beautiful romanian cities.

Not all of them. Most of them were built by transilvanian saxons. Romanians weren't allowed to build anything anything at the time, so they started building with wood (wooden houses weren't considered real buildings). The churches in Maramureș were made by romanians. They also built slums and used to live in the countryside. They were always discriminated and opressed

Uhum, Oradea has always been a completely Hungarian city, at the time of the annexation of the city, it was inhabited by more than 90% Hungarians, Timisoara was a city with mainly German, Hungarian and Jewish population, and Alba Iulia was the historical seat of Transylvania (its heyday was under Gábor Bethlen and the Hunyadi family) Sighisoara was one of the centers of the Transylvanian Saxons, Sibiu as well. The Saxon and Hungarian populations of these cities have been expelled, sold and their homes taken away in the past 100 years, while in the previous 1000 years Transylvania was characterised by a steadily growing Romanian population (oppression?). Where are the original populations of these cities and their descendants now? The people who built, founded and inhabited these places? Where is the Saxon and Hungarian population of Transylvania? Who wrote the history of these cities for 1,000 years? Who were oppressed or deprived of their homes then? And today Romanians proudly advertise beautiful Romanian cities?

@@szilagyiandras7310 maybe Oradea was almost completely hungarian but romanians were always the majority in different parts of Transilvania. Don’t put the blame on us for selling the population. It was Ceausescu’s fault. He always had horrible ideas and couldn’t even take care of his country. I know, what he did was horrible. There are still lots of hungarians in Transilvania so they didn’t perish. Let’s not forget the fact that the saxons wanted to unite with Romania and most of them left it anyway and went to Germany for a better life. Transilvania was always poor. It is the richest region in Romania as of now but it’s still far behind western europe. Remember, we were also discriminated for about 1000 years. You could have treated us just like the saxons but noooo, that didn’t happen. Even hungarians admit it.

What happened at the Uz Valley cemetery a few years ago is one of the most horrific barbarities I have ever seen. Uprooting headstones, desecrating graves, intimidating the Szekler people living there and protecting the graves of their relatives. And this has just happened in the European Union. Caucescu destroyed villages and blamed Hungarians for everything. I think it says a lot to compare how much the Romanian population living there grew in 1000 years while Transylvania was part of Hungary, while in the following 100 years the Hungarian and Saxon populations slowly disappeared completely. Yet minorities, diversity and nationalities only enrich a culture. Some Saxons were deported to Soviet labor camps after World War II and literally sold to the Federal Republic of Germany under the Caucescu regime.

@@szilagyiandras7310I saw on the Internet the even that took place at Uz Valley. Truly disgusting. Maybe you're right but I'm not a part of the problem. We should target the ones who are doing bad. But at least there are still 12.000 saxons and 1,002,151 hungarians ( that's 6% of the population ). Actually, most hungarians don't even care about Transilvania. I spoke to some hungarians face to face when I was in Brașov and they all told me they don't care about it. We could bring them back to Transilvania but since it is part of Romania, that means it's still poor and I'm pretty sure the saxons will not leave Germany for a poorer country. Same thing applies to hungarians. It's really weird that Ceaușescu treated minorities really bad but then Klaus Iohannis ( a transilvanian saxon) became our president. Huh
