I have recently received decant samples of the Les Exclusives line. I tried the Eau de Cologne as you were discussing-what a difference between the blotter and skin. It’s quite lovely, quite wearable for the everyday. Definitely made me smile! I know this was ages ago but thank you. Great to revisit reviews from the past.

Great list Persolaise. A few of my favourite scents here, particularly the Hermes, Acqua di Parma and Guerlain. A few others that work for me are Pomelo Paradis from Atelier Cologne, Limoneros from Arquiste, Cologne Bigarade Frederic Malle and Dior Homme Sport the 2008 version.

Love your videos! If you can get your hands on it, LUSH CELEBRATE body spray. Relatively inexpensive but a burst of citrus happiness. I drench myself with this before going to work in a hospital as citruses are generally inoffensive and uplifting. It has been getting me through quarantine and work!

Oh there are a great number of fragrances which I have immediately positive first reactions to as soon as they're sprayed. But being instantly lifted and feeling happy, with a smile coming so easily to me upon first inhalation? That's rare. What makes me instantly smile and just feel joyful and light? I'm going to go with Une Nuit Magnetique by The Different Company. I was shocked by my love-at-first-sniff experience with this one because it's not the genre of fragrance I normally care much for, the big fruity-floral extravaganza. But this one is the happiest most obnoxious, unapologetic homage to the feminine flamboyance of the 1980s and 1990s. I love it. It DOES make me smile and feel happy. In fact, it makes me yearn to be able to jump into the Delorian and bring back all the knitwear with sewn-in shoulder pads I can find, all the white stilettos, all the Ungaro jackets and YSL costume jewellery. I would step in and do a good turn for Paulina Porizkova. I would fight the temptation to shop and bring back the most anachronistic treasures I could hunt down. Wouldn't everybody like to go back in time just to smell all the fragrances in their first formulation? All the lost classics. Just think of all the vanity projects launched by a million z-grade American celebrities and obscure European entertainers-- the forgotten pantheon of astonishingly awful celebrity fragrances! I'm getting goose bumps. Think of how many are lost in the mists of time! Thus is the power of Une Nuit Magnetique. 🥰

My favorite happy fragrances are Hermes Eau des Merveilles and Sublime Balkiss by The Different Company. Also, while this may not technically qualify as a perfume, but Cellular Energizing Water from La Prairie has an amazing, uplifting, and persistent fragrance.

I love Orange Star on someone else's skin. On me the citrus turns quite soapy almost upon landing. I am not going to say it's more of a masculine scent ........sacrilege! Nope I won't say it, not even thinking it 🤭🤫!!!!!! Great video, thanks again. I am catching up, only 4 months behind now :).

A happiness perfume for me is Champagne du bois, by Sonoma Scents Studio. I smile every time I smell it. It was a signature for a few years, then the perfumer got sick and had to let go of her business. I was gutted. Someone bought the company and it is back, but I get the feeling that it is not quite the same. I love it still, but I don't thing the dry down turns as rich as the original. It opens bright and fizzy, and moves into something sensual. At least it did on my skin. I am so saddened when beautiful formulations are tampered with.

Arquiste makes several scents just for a hotel in Mexico City - Essencia De El Palacio Viteveres may be the best lime/vetiver fragrance I own. These are not released for sale in the US and are not on Arquiste's website. Also check out No. 31 made by Arquiste for J.Crew and now available only through Arquiste's website. An incredible dark Vanilla scent, darker than Architects Club but just as good.

Have you tried MiXte by Parfums de Nicolai? Grapefruit on top, but not harsh - morphs into other citrus notes and a creaminess. The citrus somehow manages to endure throughout the drydown - not an easy feat. Longevity is quite long, not that that is too important.
