I became obsessed with perfume about six months ago and realized I loved Iris when I tried a sample of Heeley Iris de Nuit one night and was blown away. I love the combinations of Iris and carrot seed and iris with ambrette. I’ve only had a chance to smell a few of the ones on your list so far and would love to try them all. I love Dior Homme Intense, but haven’t had a chance to smell the 2005 Dior Homme or the current iteration of it. I have also fallen in love with Frederic Malle L’Eau d’Hiver which I rarely hear mentioned in relation to iris, perhaps because Iris Poudree is regarded as such an important iris scent. Some other Irises that I’ve liked are Hiris and Dusita Splendiris. I have samples of Xerjof Irisss and Odori Iris 2008 on their way to me. I am so happy to have found your channel this weekend!

ah ! this was such a hilarious episode !! complete with the A and C words too !! so disappointed i couldn’t make it live … however, a good thing is being able to spray a couple of the scents mentioned along with you ! to me iris usually has a waxy quality - kind of dry greasy if you know what i mean - very much a dollshead plasticky scent. i know this description sounds terrible but it’s lovely. i recently puchased a box of FM samples and was happily able to try iris poudre for the first time while watching this video. what a surprise - it was like a gentler version of n°22, one of my favourite perfumes of all time. n°19 has never been about the iris - it’s always a straight galbanum to me; in fact during a sniffing session run by robertet, upon smelling galbanum, my immediate response (which i shouted out in class 😂) was ”n°19 !”. iris is such a fantastic note in perfumery : elegant, restrained and just beautiful. heeley’s iris de nuit and dusita’s splendiris are both gorgeous as well. in fact, i feel that the note is so lovely that any perfume that contains enough of it will smell good. re celine : you HAVE to try them ! the entire line is so well done !!! the london boutique in mount street must have samples if you turn up and ask for them, or just test in store if your current covid restrictions allow this. enjoy the rest of summer, and hope to catch you live soon !! 💗

Dear Persolaise, how do I know when you are doing a live video? Irises are a difficult plant to get to flower they need perfect conditions, so you’ve done well. I have never smelt a true iris fragrance, the scent is so difficult to smell on the flower, many people can’t even smell it at all. I think if somebody could catch it’s true element that would be something. I work with people with sight loss, I wear no.19 for work and have done so for 35 years and people love it. Michaela
@Persolaise3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to write, Michaela. I try to give as much notice of videos on the 'Community' section of KZbin as well as on my Instagram, but I'm afraid that I can't often give more than 24 hrs warning. Iris is an odd one, because I'm not sure that iris perfumes even attempt to capture the smell of the flower; they're more interested in the bulbs.
