Vincent only honorable mentioned. (cries) I think Lucca of Chrono Trigger is my favorite gunner. I love her Wonder Shot weapon. Also love Hubert from Tales of Graces. That scene in Lhant where he puts the smackdown on his own brother (poor Asbel... XD) with his Mystic Art with the guns left me in awe. I'm like, "Whoa... He ain't no scared little bro anymore! He means business now!"

My favorite gunner is Wren from Phantasy star 4. Bad ass android with a giant gun, High Defense, Able to dish out the damage and take it, Able to buff the parties magic defense, he can self heal, and of course he can shoot freaking missiles and lasers out of his chest.

Oh this is *such* a good list. Between the main list and honourable mentions, you got most of my faves, but I wanna give a special shout-out to Greg and Rebecca from Wild ARMs 5 (I don't really count Dean, since he mostly does melee attacks) Rebecca's Acrobatic Shooting is super cool and stylish, and Greg is just an absolute brick house who pumps out the damage xD

I was happy to see Billy on the list, but I questioned why he was so low... Then I saw how many gunners that would have been on my personal list find themselves in the honorable mentions. Guns aren't really my cup of tea in terms of weaponry, but I do have a few favorites Laguna from Final Fantasy VIII: Squall's polar opposite, and his gun skills in Dissidia help seal him for me. Sorry, I like Final Fantasy VIII. Jaster from Rogue Galaxy: While normally, he does use a sword as his main weapon, his skills with a handgun aren't anything to sneeze at either. Inspired by Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, he leaves his desert planet of Rosa to join Dorgengoa's pirate crew to hunt for treasure and save the world Juna from Trails of Cold Steel: Guns installed on police tonfas are pretty cool, not gonna lie. She admired the SSS, and enrolled at the police academy to follow in their footsteps, but Crossbell's occupation took away most of her credits and she had to join the branch campus to keep the remaining ones she had, much to her disappointment. She later on becomes leader of Class VII in Rean's absence when he gets kidnapped and imprisoned in the Black Workshop. Her love for Crossbell, determination, and versatility with her weapons make her a force to be reckoned with.

My favorite gunner would be Chung from Elsword. Kid uses a cannon both as intended and as a club alongside transforming armor. I like the lore of both coming from a magic crystal with the purpose of giving him a way to act as his kingdoms guardian despite his sickly body. 1 of his 3 advancement options give him more gunner credit with pistols whose bullets ricochet off targets to hit more enemies.

Really the list was good but without Prompto from FF 15 and Squall from 8 it feels pretty incomplete. I like both characters,Squall more than Cloud,but irregardless both are extremely powerful gun users.

Wow, you look great! My fave is Wren from Phantasy Star IV. He is a tank with nearly infinite heal himself techniques (he even does it when you walk in camp mode), he has both single and multi target weapons, he can one-shot robots with Spark and has a few cool combo attacks too.

Nearly every character from the Wild Arms series is eligible, but my favorites would be Clive Winslet from 3 and Greg Russelberg from 5. Their guns are the biggest and most powerful of all but their characters are really good too, both plot-wise and gameplay-wise.

I have to give it to Jr from Xenosaga. I'll speak more from Episode 1 where the characters stood out on their own a lot more. He was incredibly fast and hit like a truck. He could hit the pesky ranged enemies that you normally have to use the game's less than stellar magic attacks to hit. Almost every tech he has does piercing damage, which MANY enemies are weak to. And his ETHERs offer nice buffs and debuffs. And he can steal with one as well :D Doing the Great Joe sidequest can see him become absolutely broken in late game.

I was sad my boi mustadio didn't make the list. In the original runthrough on psx he was a huge help being such an easy and safe way to cause don't act/don't move/petrify (on undead). Also that he unlocked the additional content in ch4.

Personally I would've choose Opera from SO2 (she becomes pretty broken in the end/post-game) but I can understand why she often gets forgotten, the older SO games (tho the pinnacle of the franchise) are notorious for being "blind" play-through unfriendly (its almost impossible to recruit certain characters and get the best endings without a guide).

The way damage is calculated in FF Tactics Balthier dishes out more damage with a bow rather than a gun. His ridiculous speed stat directly correlates into damage with a longbow.

The irony with Balthier is despite being constantly show with a Guns in FFXII he is the worst character to use Guns due to his slower animation compare to the rest of the cast ^^". Kinda surprise that there is no character from the Trails series, they have a pretty selection of gunners. Also how can we have a video about Gunner and not talk about Resonance of Fate, you know the JRPG where all 3 characters are wielding Guns and are freaking badass with it, am I the only one remembering this game ??
