I’m sorry but Finishing the Hat from Sunday In The Park With George over Soliloquy from Carousel, Till I Hear You Sing from Love Never Dies, Make Them Hear You from Ragtime, This Is The Moment from Jekyll & Hyde, If I Can’t Love Her from Disney’s Beauty & The Beast, Out There from The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Pure Imagination from Wonka, Build A Wall from Shrek The Musical, Every Single Day from Harmony, Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar, Close Every Door from Joesph & The Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat, Pity The Child from Chess The Musical, Stranger from Big Fish, Goodbye from Catch Me If You Can, & Ol’ Man River from Showboat?! I can’t agree with number 1. Finishing the Hat should be defeated to these other selections, especially Soliloquy.

@@markklockenkemper6940some of those are absolutely incredible songs. Most of them don’t beat finishing the hat. I’m not saying I’d put the song in the overall top spot, but it’s a song that can be analyzed and dissected. Every note and word matters more than just carrying along a narrative. I can’t say the same for some on that list. Even though a lot of the songs on the list sound really nice.

Replaced by “Evermore” on the big screen… but I bet anyone lucky enough to have seen “If I Can’t…” on Broadway missed it a little, as I did. 16:06 They must either have decided “Evermore” suited Steven’s voice better or that the older one was simply more effective on stage than it would be on screen. Fortunate to have seen Patinkin's and Peters' amazing performances in one of the most unusual musicals ever to be composed and staged. I nominate "Feeling Good" sung by Gilbert Price in _The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd_ . Among the half dozen other super hits from that show sung by Newley and Ritchard, in 1965, this song, sung by "The Negro" blew you away. No one has ever sung it better than Mr. Price. Indeed, were I a singer, I would be afraid to go near it, knowing I could never approach the emotional intensity and vocal clarity and strength of his performance. Sort of like taking on "Ol' Man River" after Paul Robeson.

(Mitchell's "Make Them Hear You" is still my single favorite moment in a theatre ever), but when it comes to vocals...I have to give the biggest prize to Jeremy Jordan. It is INSANE what he can do.
