Awesome game. Probably my favorite game in the last 5 years easy. I fell in love with it almost instantly. Im playing it for 2nd time through now just to try differemt outcomes with stranger encounters etc. I wish the online was little better but I loved the story mode. If they do make another I hope they do prequel or stay in the same era but diff point of view maybe.

Days Gone is also has a great open world. Plus the plot of a biker killing zombies makes it feel like a mix of Sons Of Anarchy and The Walking Dead. Another personal favorite of mine is Batman: Arkham Knight. You play not only as Batman, but you also play a little bit of it as Robin and Nightwing. Plus there’s some DLC missions where you can also play as Batgirl & Harley Quinn.

The mechanics are fun and story structure is cool but the characters are very annoying. Being a pissed off dude is understandable but it goes too far to where your guy just looks like an idiot all the time; really takes away from the fun gameplay. All the yelling and “I don’t have time for this..” etc. every time anyone dares to explain basic things to him.

@@its.me.jack1216 It's down to opinion really, I liked the first two for the story but the actual gameplay was trash. I straight up hated 3 and liked black flag as a standalone game but thought it marked the death of the assassin creed story because Desmond was replaced with abstergo employee. Unity had the best Parkour imo but was plagued with bugs to the point where most people didn't even bother playing it. Syndicate had one of the best settings imo but one of the worst stories. I personally thought origins and odyssey were equally trash and what I did play of Valhalla was a unpolished buggy mess that put the nail in the coffin for me lol. The biggest problem with ubisofts approach to open worlds is that they have huge maps, but almost all of it is unoccupied space with nothing to do or even see

This is a great video mate. I recently obtained a ps4 from a friend who upgraded. Never having ventured into ‘console-world’ before, but limiting my gaming to the odd pc game, I now suspect, like you I may never venture outside again’ except to dive into the ‘used’ game stores. Call of duty WW2, COD Modern Warfare, Red Redemption 2, The Last of us ? I am in awe of the alternative worlds I may prefer to this ‘Apocalypse Now’ I find myself in. GoT is my number one open-world game and I've been trying to place my finger on why I not only finished it but completed it and got the platinum (my first). I love open-world games, but I usually never finish the game because there is so much to do that I start to feel like there is nothing to do. GoT, for me, ALWAYS tied back into the narrative. For me, every side quest, battle, haiku, collectible, relationship, saved village, etc. felt tied to the overall narrative of you becoming the Ghost. I don't know if I have ever been that immersed in an open-world game before. To me, that game is an absolute masterpiece.

Couldnt have said it better. There's something magical and surreal in the world of Tsushima. I don't know how to explain it. Its sort of a peaceful, tranquil, yet mysterious feeling that I get. The songs, sounds, scenery. Its just flabbergastingly beautiful and everything fits in together. And its the game I got my first Platinum Trophy too. I kinda feel sad that its all over, and there's no more mysteries left to unfold. I really hope they make a part 2.

I highly recommend Horizon Zero Dawn. Really fun game, fighting mechanics is good and sharp. Unlike older versions of Assassins creed where you throw a punch and go through the person and end up moulding into them. Weird shit that used to happen in games. Cool graphics, beautiful imagery and scenery. Story was to be expected, it kept me guessing but good to follow nonetheless. I got it for like $14.99. Worth every cent.

Horizon was the only one from this list that I was bothered to finish. The only other open world game that I completed and was obsessed with was Oblivion. I loved the hell out of that game. Horizon hooked me from start to finish I could not stop playing it until I knew what happens at the end.

The moment i hear CD Project RED i think about the Witcher 3. It's complex, confusing and integrating like not many other open world rpgs out there. And you won't feel like a true witcher until you killed Morvudd when he had a skull icon above his head, by coincidentally stumbling upon him, dying the whole time but your ego won't let you go on your ways until you've defeated that bestiality with every bit of strength and skill you had. So in short: It's a bloody masterpiece of a game and everybody who loves a complex, vibrant almost living world to experience the greatest adventures of your life in. Then play the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Origins is a great game, and where the series changed up its combat system. It is odd though how in Origins (Local Egypt), you have a shield but in Odyssey (Local Ancient Greece) you dont. Of the two games, I think Origins is better land wise, but Odyssey is better naval wise, considering you can do more with your ship and crew.

Disapointed that Far Cry 5 and Ghost Recon Wildlands didnt make the list. They didnt have the best stories but the gameplay and the unpredictable mayhem should have landed Far Cry 5 on the list. Granted, there were a lot of great open worlds coming out 2016-2018, before everything went all loot oriented crit box gear scored bullet sponge RPG style to make microtransactions more tempting. The 2016-18 era had the microtrans options, but it wasnt out of hand yet. Thanks for your vids. One more review thats pretty much gonna lead to me picking up the whole Horizon series.

Breakpoint took everything good about Wildlands and screwed it up. They made it like The Division... just a vessel for lootbox sales. It came out broken, the combat is really shallow despite the system being complex, theres gear and weapon scores now, the AI is awful. Its like most of what came out at the time... all you can say good about it is "wow it sure looks really nice." Its just another cookie-cutter Ubisoft game like all the ones released recently. The only thing Tom Clancy about it is the gun porn. And they really screwed up the mechanics. Theres severe bullet drop over just 200yds, supressors weaken your shot, optic sights effect recoil somehow... typical Ubisoft. They dont bother to hire people who know anything about guns to make the guns.

The difference for me is how the side quests operate in the game. RDR2 has very diverse side quests that kept me interested in the game the entire time I played. Ghost of Tsushima had side quests that felt too similar and it made me stop paying attention to cutscenes and by the end of the game I felt almost board of the combat and story. Hopefully I’m not alone in this lol

I feel like Days Gone is just the poor cousin that gets no respect for the good it does. Every open world game has glitches, but noone focus on the other games. I believed the reviews and held off an Days Gone. I am so sorry that I missed out on 2 years of the game listening to stupid critics who gave reviews after 10 minutes. I was genuinely depressed when I finished it because I wanted more, even though it took me more than 60 hours.

I honestly tried 3 times to enjoy Witcher 3. Couldn't play more than 3-4 hours into the story without losing Interest every time 😔 I feel like I'm missing out
