I remember when I got shit for wishing Generaider got just 1 or 2 more pieces of support. Now the deck is basically unplayable without running the same snoozefest degeneracy that every other deck is playing because of how toxic the format is.

To be fair some decks are just inherently terrible in concept. Like neo spacians can get all the fancy fusion spells they want but at the end of the day they still return to the extra deck if you destroy the field spell.

The amount of effort (as forced as it is) they got, compared to other strategies? It just goes to show that Konami is more willing to do what they can for one archetype vs the bare minimum for others. It just sucks ass to see one archetype get just what they need, when one's you care about get scraps if they get anything at all.

Sauravis is better as a 7. It can be searched with preparation that way. Easy hand trap search. The other reason level 7 is preferable is because of chalislime. A lot of ritual decks are using a deskbot engine. During that combo you usually search Chalislime and the impcantation ritual spell. Usually you add your combo pieces by discarding the spell to search then use the ritual spell to add itself back to hand to get another search. But what happens when you already opened a combo piece. Well then you can just get a sauravis. You can even summon it since chalislime is 7 also. Making it easier to summon then if it was an 8. I used to always tech it as a 1 of in all my ritual decks now since called by the grave went to one I now run it at 3. It might not be able to stop ash like called could it can however stop impermanence which called by the grave missed before.

Another one I would give an Honorable Mention to is my tech choice for Cyber Herald decks: Saffira, Queen of Dragons. Lv 6 LIGHT Dragon, 2500 ATK. At the end of any turn where either A) she was Ritual Summoned or B) you sent a LIGHT monster to the GY from your hand/Deck (such as to use the effect of Herald of Perfection), you get to do 1 of 3 things. 1) Draw 2 and discard 1. 2) Force your opponent to discard 1. 3) Return a LIGHT monster from your GY to your hand...which, in combination with Herald, basically meant you had a free negation each turn. Also gave you an aggro option with Honest. Swing, boost over, end phase get Honest back and do it again.

One thing that I think deserves mention is that having a ritual spell that isn't generic is pretty good sometimes because of just how useful Pre-Preparation of Rites is. I've been working on a Relinquished archetype deck recently with the limiting of Called by the Grave (a card which just kills the archetype by being a spell instead of a monster), and I am actually running Relinquished and Black Illusion Ritual so I can use Pre-Preparation of Rites and Manju for deck-thinning. Anima plus Kaijus is just hilarious, and some decks I face basically scoop the second I get Millennium-Eyes on the board. Backrow and Backrow removal are both big obstacles for the deck though, so I've been trying to figure out some other engine or S/T negation to add to the deck. In any case, I could totally see Relinquished as an actual entry rather than an honorable in a future list if I can just figure out how to make this all work against backrow/backrow removal.

Honestly I would have put phul at the number one spot. It generically recycles ritual monsters and can pull its entire archetype from the deck as a quick effect. Which allows phul to either be a free search on your turn or free disruption for the opponent's turn. Phul essentially makes chalislime a one card engine that searches a ritual monster and a ritual spell thanks to its recycle effect. And not to mention phul allows megalith to loop benten up to 3 times a turn.

Something that people don't know about this card, anything that target back row cannot be activate when this ritual summoned card is on the field because your opponent need to target it.

Too clunky for flip decks who have no focus on rituals at all to play a mini ritual engine. Also not all flip decks are dead on arrival. Check Shaddolls and Penguins.

Hey Dave love the videos and also I did get old card seal of the ancients. Its effect says pay 1000 life points and see all face-down cards your opponent controls. They're effective dont activate. After your done looking at them place them all face down again. I'm wondering how good of card would it be or if just worthless. Since you did pay 1/8th of your life points to get alot of information if your opponent has set cards.

What I don't understand is this: Turning of the World begins with: "This card is used..." that means you can't use it for any other monster except for the monster(s) stated. However... Chaos Form starts with: "This card can be used..." so does that mean I can use it with any Ritual Monster?

From a historical standpoint Nekroz being number 1 makes sense, for a current state standpoint it should hardly if at any point touch the top 10 list tbt. Even if the Djinn lock was available it would probably fit a lot more under Megalith nowadays and do a lot more than Nekroz, doesn't mean Nekroz wouldn't be a threat again tho, but its non-internal reasons. That being said I hope Konami does give them new support and puts them worthy again of top spot. I also wish more Rituals in general come around as there are only 98 as of today and like 10 types don't have one or either have a single old vanilla that doesn't work for crap. Draitron gave us the first for Machines, hopefully we get the first for Psychic soon 🤔

I feel like an honorable mention should've been given to Draitron Meteornis=DRA. It's a pretty solid card and it's easy to summon because rather than using levels, the ritual spell that summons it uses attack points. And this particular ritual spell can summon ANY Ritual monster. Plus you're allowed to exceed the amount of attack required so you don't have to be exact. Move over impcantations we have a new contender for best ritual archetype.
