I use h3 (37 degree on backhand and 40 on forehand). Can definitely recommend it for people how can generate power on their shots. Controlled and spinny rubber. Its linear, meaning you get the speed you put in. Also I definitely recommend boosting it. Put 2 layers directly on the sponge and wait atleast 12 hours before adding another layer.

Hey Coach, how would you say this list would change concerning nearly all watchers of your videos are NOT professional players and might be playing in lower clublevels with not perfect technique and only 1 to 2 times training a week... where maximum speed etc might not be suited ? Would be really great if you could put considerations for those players into account. .... or do you think that every attacking player (e.g. training 2 times a week with reasonably good technique...) could be fine with a rubber from this list (not too difficult to control etc...). thanks!

@@dfrees42 Hello, I played with H3 blue sponge boosted and I play with V15 extra max. The 2 rubbers are very different. V15 extra is a very specific rubber for counter attack (counter topspin, block...). H3 blue sponge is very good on service, V15 is weak on service. V15 is not spin sensitive and very linear so it's good for short return and 3d ball attack but with a lot less spin than the H3 blue. V15 is very easy to perform powerfull shots, no need to engage the entire body with good footwork like with H3 blue. You can do things with the H3 you cannot with the V15, but V15 is a lot more foregiving. V15 is weaker than other modern rubbers (T05, fastarc G1, ESN rubbers...) on service and first topspin, but much stable after (linear acceleration, block, counter top, passive shot, service return...). So, it's not suitable for players based on strong service/3rd ball attack... The opposite of H3 blue ^^

@@dfrees42 Btw, the Victas V15 Extra is just like Tenergy 05, except it's better all-around. V15 has a straighter throw angle than T05, which has a high throw angle. Regardless, the V15 Extra is a non-tacky, 47.5 degrees euro style rubber, and it is simply the best of all non-tacky euro style rubbers

Used battle 2 , was the worst rubber I've ever played with. For 3 years I had played with cheap friendship rubbers because as a European I don't have the technique to use hurricane 3,friendship is much less demanding , its much easier to smash with, much less sensitive to spin. However battle 2 does not play like a friendship rubber it plays more like a hurricane. By far the most difficult rubber I have used to smash if the ball goes high. When I played against top spin attack players battle 2 was decent however as someone who plays middle to top division local league (in the UK) 70% of the people I play against don't play a all out top spin game. So many people with dead rubbers , anti spin players, all round players, blockers. Ext. Basically its common for the ball to go high when playing against these players normally this would be a good thing but this rubber is incredibly difficult to smash with. I would beat top division attacking players but then lose to mid division all round players. I had someone boost the rubber which made it incredibly spinny, however it became even more demanding never have I missed the ball so many times and not even have a idea of why. Not only do you need good contact like hurricane 3 but it became as or maybe even more sensitive to spin as tenergy. Also while it was very spinny the power still wasn't that high (maybe someone with better technique could generate more power) The reason the rubber was good when playing top-spin attacking players is that like all tacky rubbers counter hitting is alot easier to perform. It's hard to hit the ball hard enough to end the point using tacky rubbers however if your opponent puts spin and pace on the ball then it's possible to hit hard as a counter hit. I think that battle 2 should not be a friendship rubber since it does not play like the other friendship rubbers , it should've been a DHS rubber.
@blueheart9873
@blueheart9873 2 жыл бұрын
I had this problem too. I struggle to play against opponents that play a "weak" game with little spin or speed. They usually also play with rubbers that are not very sensitive to spin so you can't topspin through their blocks, really annoying. I picked up a second bat with long pimples and used it for lower ranks till I got high enough for my normal bat. Battle 2 is a very agressive rubber and you need good technique to get the full experience, which is even harder when opponents don't apply good technique themselves. It is like you mentioned not an easy rubber to smash with, instead I play hard topspins in the corners while staying close to the table. Even from mid distance I can keep my topspins constistent so that's where my opponents struggle with. The cheap 729 rubbers are nothing like Battle 2, Battle 2 is designed for top level players and the cheap ones are for beginners. If you want a good Smashing rubber I'd suggest something like Tibhar MX-P or Nittaku Fastarc G-1 if you want to keep the tackiness on the topsheet. Butterfly Dignics series is also good but very expensive
@epic1053
@epic1053 2 жыл бұрын
@@blueheart9873 completely agree with the dead rubbers , because battle 2 rubber is not that fast your only option is to top spin the hell out of the ball but alot of players unless you play to a very high standard have worn out dead rubbers so they negate your entire game as their rubber is insensitive to spin. Which is why I would sometimes defeat good division 1 attacking players using this rubber then lose to middle division blockers who I would feel would beat me with out having to do much. The most frustrating experience of playing table tennis. I swapped to rosena for the time being. Also I disagree that friendship is for beginners, It's slow enough that beginners could use it but with good technique you can get decent power and alot of spin, I used friendship in the highest division of my cities league and didn't even boost it or use speed glue. I imagen boosted /with speed glue It's viable for intermediate players and maybe advanced players (which i consider middle division national division players ) I don't think it would be enough for top players or professionals though. Actually I'd really like to try friendship again with speed glue and boosted

@@epic1053 I play Battle 2 blue sponge with booster now. I tried it first without booster but it felt weird. I had the same experience with Hurricane 2 which plays surprisingly similar. It feels like it has good speed and spin but you need to have super human strength to get this without booster. After boosting with 2 layers the first time there was a big difference. It didn't necessarily feel that much faster or spinnier but it was much easier to perform a good topspin with medium force because the sponge was just a little bit bouncy, still very dense and hard but with a better feeling and dwell time. I also use a pretty stiff blade which makes the timing and aim very precise. It might play better on a semi flexible blade if you want to play from mid distance as well and gives you much more control on attacks with less unforced errors

@@epic1053 That might be very possible. Hi! Can I use Friendship Battle 2 with normal speed glue (I'm not professional and I don't compete)? Does the rubber has any nice sound effect? Thanks!

For the record: No, it has no sound effect at all. :D Also it has a very cheap chinese rubber feeling compared to Tenergy 05 FX what is chose.

Coach, please explain me about the difference between Tenergy 05 Hard and Tenergy 64 in terms of speed and spin. I am currently using T 64 as it has maximum speed in Tenergy series and good for hitting and blocking. I am a Japanese penhold player. Thanks.

I'm a new shakehand player and accidentally got hard instead of 05 regular. While I can only really compare to hurricane 3, I can say that 05 hard you must be very controlled and cognizant of where the ball is hitting and the angle of the blade. If you hit it straight like on hurricane 3, it will go flying over the edge of the table. I don't know much, but if you're using a 1 ply hinoki jpen, I feel 05 hard would result in a loss of precise control close to the table.

@ivanivan4155
@ivanivan4155 2 жыл бұрын
Battle 2 is much easier to play, it's faster, the spin is about the same, and durability is 3-4 times longer than H3. Just get the Blue Spong if it's possible it's overall a bit better than the orange sponge.

Best rubbers of the history?🤔 I think old famous rubbers were forgotten. All those hard versions included like tenergy hard, mx-p hard,etc. Are very new and they are being replaced by hybrid ones in less than five years of being released. Tenergies, dignics and evolution series are the most used by pro players. And all those Chinese rubbers...mmm... Hurricane 3 could be...but the other two considered among the best forehand rubbers of history... I don't know. Even hurricane 3 is acceptable because the Chinese team use it... The rest of the pro players of the world I don't believe they use it. Amateur players buy it due to the Chinese team. Anyway this is a matter of appreciation... It is like saying the best (top ten) politicians of the history including several Chinese ones. We don't know them...just in their own country have voters. I agree Victas v 15 extra, tenergy 0.5, tibhar mx-p, nittaku fastarc g1 and dignics... And soon nittaku Hammond z2 according to many people.
