Ive played since the start of ark 8 years ago, when tames like the manta ray were being released and i must say that tek was really the worst addition to the game in my eyes and especially the transition to ark becoming a tek based game, its levels above any other structure, armour etc. i personally wish it was so scarce that only the top of the top could access it because that's what it used to be like

I miss the days where ARK was a primitive game. Cryopods, tek and OP dinosaurs were a game changer because it transitioned ARK drastically in key areas. ARK changed from intermediate tribe wars on the same server to become mostly cross server wars. It is now necessary to always have someone online 24/7 in the event of an attack from a tribe from another server. Prior to this you could simply scout the area around your base to make sure the enemy tribe weren't moving dinosaurs all the way from their base to yours. Today, in one moment no one can be standing outside of your base and the next a full fob can be planted down due to tek, quicker and better tames and not least CRYOPODS. The spatial narrative and immersive experience were also forever altered. I miss the environment being a challenge in itself. Nowadays you can scour an entire map in just mere minutes and kill anything with just a managamr. I remember just climbing a mountain to get metal to build a longneck were a big achievement itself and not least an amazing experience. I can go on about this for hours and hours. The point is ARK was amazing in its primitive days and it is not even the nostalgia talking. I remember loving that game everytime playing it.

Getting 100 metal shouldn't be s days worth of work and it most definitely shouldn't take over an hour. You think they made ark way easier but you have to realize you're an old player. Just imagine trying to get your friend to play ark with no knowledge of the game it'd take him a week to even get flak pants

Copied and pasted my comment from above but I totally agree... The Die hard / Try hard's will hate this take, but ARK was at its best in the early "primitive" stages. The minute they brought in advanced Tech, crypods and iron man suits, the game quickly became a ZERG only title and lost a huge amount of casuals. There was a time when 4 or 5 of us would jump on ARK randomly (due to work / family commitments) and live in the shadows, enjoying the odd ambush. Then the introduction of high-level dinos that could be transferred from server to server brought with it huge clans that would wipe whole servers whilst you slept. It felt like the Devs only ever listened to the Alpha groups, the nail in the coffin for us being the introduction of dinosaurs whose abilities could find hidden players / tames or bases. The radar on the Parasaurs allowing clans with wyverns to hunt out small hidden groups that posed no threat, more through boredom, was a killer. This continued with the bloodstalkers and so on. Was such a shame as ARK for that small 12 month window, was one of the greatest games I ever played. I always felt like a limit on transferring dinos. or even banning that aspect, only allowing players to jump, should have been the answer. Dinosaurs' abilities should have been reigned in, as should the tech, but I appreciate that was always the plan due to the storyline. Listen, I'll get the "you just couldn't hack it" comments and that's fine, I couldn't, I had a job and family to care for. We don't all get to live in our parents attics until we're 40. But this game should and could have gone down as the greatest ever.

Character speed limitation change is great for immmersion. I do hope they put a temporary hold on tek after release just so the community gets a chance to appreciate the environment. Hoping for weather effects. Rain & storms, also viewable in the distance/horizon. Thunder & lightning that has a chance to put skittish dinos into fight or flight mode. Improved dino behavior & animations. Predators raise their heads to pick up a scent if they detect prey. Imagine hiding close to a Rex, watching it try pick up your scent.. and then it looks in your direction.

Speed is a core mechanic in any game most games do it by what kind of weapon you have but by doing this it makes pvp much easier because with everyone moving at the same speed leading your shots and predicting where they will be at any moment will become way too easy

I definitely want the building pieces to be able to be changed between walls, doors, windows. Agreed it would be great to reduce the number of different piece types sitting in my inventory. The taller walls is also an advantage. S+ giving us more wall height for fewer pieces has been a big help on my server's resources, so bigger walls by default in ASA shoukd also help.

No speed is such a healthy change I don't think a lot of pve players understand why this will be so healthy. PVP will be so much more attractive to new players as they wont see wonky mach 2 players and feel frustrated at how arcady it feels and unpolished. Also it will make you feel human rather than a freak of nature. Might honestly be the best change on the list imo

As far as building goes I’ve always thought you should be able to build in some kind of blueprint mode and then once you’ve finished, you’ll place a small workbench as a placeholder, then bring all the required raw materials and tools to the build site and slap it together based on the blueprint you just built. Also making it possible to copy and paste your personally built structures

@@iShockGamers I actually played official small tribes for several years and held several servers, in what way would this not work for pvp? It would actually be better specifically for pvp. Instead of carrying hundreds of walls ceilings floors doors gates turrets gens all that, just place your blueprint and add the materials, now the structure starts building while you don’t have to figure out what take you need or where you need to stand in order to place x, y, or z just right. I definitely could be wrong but I think you fail to understand what I’m trying to say and now are trying to be rude simply because you lack understanding. Almost comedic honestly

The difference in Atlas and Arc can be instructive in the context of the view distance change. Apparently there are significant issues just with Ark itself on rendering because even a 70% increase doesn't come anywhere close to even half the distance in atlas. This implies that base complexity is just as high as it originally was.

Thanks for the video! How about a Top 10 Map fixes you'd like to see for each map. One of my quirks is how Crystal Isles had so much stuff removed from it compared to when it was a modded map from iSpezz and his team that created it. Crystal Isles Dinos mod put the content back in, but WC took things out to force certain dinos to only be had on paid maps up until Fjordur was released. Valguero is another.

I'd like to see a major update to AI behavior honestly, the one we see is so terrible, things I would love to see changed like Dinos running away from danger BEFORE it happens not the second it starts happening, dino family/flok migrations, day/night cycle where they get up in the morning, go eat, hide at noon (for herbivores) and ACTUALLY SLEEP at night Also, minimap should only popup when you have the GPS

There are mods out there that add in baby dinos and also nests that can hold eggs you can collect with herds that defend said nest. It will probably have something just like that in terms of the baby dinos and parents. Defeat the parents and just tame the baby probably through passive taming. The dinopithecus has juvenile ones that walk around with the parents already in original ARK without mods.

Please remember bevor beeing too hyped, this are all thing that WC promised or that people hope/think ASA will have. But remembering our trackreckord with WC things can turn very differently. ASA will be EA an it could be month till some of these things get implemented if ever (remember that Snail games are broke and eventually will force WC to concentrate on sellable content like it was with Scorched earth instead on further development of the maps etc)

The breeding change is going to make thing's difficult. You already had to kock out multiple dinos to find the one that had good stats. Then you had to breed multiple times to try to get the right combination of stats.

Wonder how hard they are going to make the boss fights, for a long time boss fights were REALLY REALLY hard so that kept tek in check for awhile. Also wonder if they are going to have boss arena's day 1. I still miss the old Brood mother spider farms for meat and chitin, dragging her from green obi to our special made pen with dire wolves on aggressive under. Think we were the only tribe on the server also at the time who could breed because they would limit how many dinos are on the map depending on how many people were online, so no one could find dinos to kill for meat, also no beaver dam's back than so we had the market cornered on paste. Great times.

I like the idea of tracks being left behind. They could make Dino’s (mainly aggro ones) a little rarer and you could use the tracks to find their location. Also I think it’s good that you won’t be able to upgrade your character speed, but I do hope you’ll be able to increase tame speed that way you can rely more on your tames, of course there should be a cap though..

If you're renting a server through Nitrado for instance you can type creatures in and set their spawn rate to 0 and maximum population to 0, essentially making that species extinct. I get rid of microraptors, troodon, ichthyornis, kaprosuchus, purlovia, pretty much anything that can dismount and stun you or steal your stuff

As a pve player I’m happy with every change except for cryopods. Cryopods allow for base building in smaller and nicer spots whereas now everyone is just going to mega base. This was a huge oversight for both lag and quality of life purposes.

If there will be baby paras with their parents on the coast, i imagine myself building a house, maybe like a medium starter house and finding a family of paras and killing the parents to tame the baby and grow it with imprint. It sounds so great, to be honest. I'm worried that snail might spoil everything again, if there is going to be drama after asa. I wonder if you can lead away the parents from the baby or will it automatically follow its parents?

I hope they revamp the level system. I've always thought there should just be a max level for any creature regardless of what level you tame it at -- finding a high level one just gets you a big head start but even a lvl1 dino should be able to eventually hit max level in my mind. Roaming the map hoping rng gives me a high level dino with good stats is not fun imo

As a modded PvE player, who got the game day 1, most of these don't affect me at all. Only one I'm interested in is the building to see if we can have pieces that work. I think if they do keep the Rhyniognatha in on release I think it will be nerfed quite a bit or maybe have certain abilities locked until some tek is unlocked or something. I play PVE though so either way it won't bother me :) Also, the rhynio stats come from the dino you use to get pregnant so they're going to be fairly weak until people get strong lines bred and that's gonna take a while

I really hope the mini map isn’t able to ping enemies and have a live ping like the jackel track on siege works bc that would be broken but I hope u can ping a location on the mini map that says enemy here and the ping doesn’t track it just sits there so u have only an idea where the enemy is if u can only see on the map at that time

Personally I always hated the tek update. It’s what turned me off of Ark and move onto games like Rust. I think they should make the guns more prominent and then remove tek entirely. It leaves the ability for people that are either playing solo or with few people or even new players to still be able to play against veteran players and have a chance to upgrade quickly.

I think they should add Rhinios on day 1, but not have them tameable for at least a few months, if ever. I think there should be more strong, untameable creatures that will make the wildlife more threatening, even in late game. I also hope they put some kind of limit on notes running. Like puting a cooldown between getting them, or something.

i was away from ark for about 1~2years and didn't know anything about this new Ark coming up... it will be an upgrade/update for current Ark we have or we have to buy another "version" of Ark? i'm not saying i don't want to pay another 10k yens (around 100$) for Ark but i wanted to know to save the money for when it comes out

Since A2 has been announced as 3rd person only….I think I’m going to play ASA only in 3rd person to get used to the dynamics of it….hated it in ASE but guess this can give me some practice….

I was on ark on day 1, i am just waiting to see if and when the game comes out and watching streamers stream it, cause we all know wild card and their delay's and forgetting to add in certain animations and graphics. It will be different when the game is under load with 70 players online. Keep that in mind.

Map improvements is massive, hopefully the minimap if they don't fix the world map makes up for it... unless they improve the map you pull out. A more involved map would be great, fog of war type stuff and other elements, make it an item you craft for exploring. I honestly don't even remember how the map works... any mods for it?

If they do cap stats, they should only be capped for PvP. PvE players couldn’t care less about balance, we want to feel rewarded for leveling up. I’d rather see entirely new stats to spend points on, such as crafted item durability, crafting costs, universal buffs for Dino’s that you specifically ride

bro you will be able to do alot with alot of dinos, just imagine being in a cave (i imagined the oil cave in valguero) and just be in a hill (close to dinos) and start whistling like groups of raptors to different characters without them getting stuck, even with the exo mek when it comes out, the PLAYS you could do, my goodness.

I hope they remove the bug to start with, at least let us enjoy the game a bit b4 they break it again. Otherwise each server is just going to be a rush to tame the bug and then you are unstoppable. TBH not sure how I feel about move speed nerf, I feel like the game is going to be much more (too much) pve now. Trying to hunt people and then having to deal with all the BS trying to kill you (lets face it, there are way too many dinos walking around) - but at the same time I guess more people will be able to land gunshots, but that is counted by more people going to have way higher hp as they move from move speed to hp. I kinda like how they nerfed move speed in SOTF (not the current gabro sotf, but the original one), so we can still level it up a bit but just not as much as before. I wonder how much oxy ill need now to swim as fast I used too :(

I agree if they capped the movement speed so players can't go to 200 or something crazy but still enough to make us faster because even traveling is painful when you're slow it takes SO long 🫠

I have played Ark since 2016 and all the changes seem good. You're right about the Rhynio being OP. I'd love to see it in the game just not tameable like the Titanboa used to be. Also tek day one sounds awful. My favorite time in Ark was when we all couldn't even get to max level. No notes would be awesome

The Die hard / Try hard's will hate this take, but ARK was at its best in the early "primitive" stages. The minute they brought in advanced Tech, crypods and iron man suits, the game quickly became a ZERG only title and lost a huge amount of casuals. There was a time when 4 or 5 of us would jump on ARK randomly (due to work / family commitments) and live in the shadows, enjoying the odd ambush. Then the introduction of high-level dinos that could be transferred from server to server brought with it huge clans that would wipe whole servers whilst you slept. It felt like the Devs only ever listened to the Alpha groups, the nail in the coffin for us being the introduction of dinosaurs whose abilities could find hidden players / tames or bases. The radar on the Parasaurs allowing clans with wyverns to hunt out small hidden groups that posed no threat, more through boredom, was a killer. This continued with the bloodstalkers and so on. Was such a shame as ARK for that small 12 month window, was one of the greatest games I ever played. I always felt like a limit on transferring dinos. or even banning that aspect, only allowing players to jump, should have been the answer. Dinosaurs' abilities should have been reigned in, as should the tech, but I appreciate that was always the plan due to the storyline. Listen, I'll get the "you just couldn't hack it" comments and that's fine, I couldn't, I had a job and family to care for. We don't all get to live in our parents attics until we're 40. But this game should and could have gone down as the greatest ever.

Personal Teleporter is my fav. Sick of meshing giant ones into walls just so I can fit them where I want them. (one time I had an admin come in through my turrets looking for meshers lol)
