@@BillyGollnerMusic yes please help me with this problem. The problem is, while I'm singing, it sounds normal, but when played back, I hear a constant microtonal flat. I have good ears and I am a musician. I can hear even if someone is going flat even a lil bit. When I sing I feel I am on pitch but when I hear everytime it's lil bit flat. I noticed if I sing a lil bit higher on pitch and when I hear the recording it is fine but i can't do this coz it feels so uncomfortable to sing a sharp note. Maybe that's not actually the sharp note but in my mind I feel it is sharp. I don't know.. Any tips to fix this??
@BillyGollnerMusic5 жыл бұрын
@@Gauravanartist That's a really great question and I would need to hear you to know exactly what the issue is. Without hearing someone, I would say: 1) check your posture (make sure your neck is in line with your spine, tilt your chin up a little bit), 2) is the sound too chesty? (if there is too much chest-voice/TA dominance in a sound, there will be a tendency towards flatting), 3) check your volume. If you're too loud, there's a tendency towards flatting. However, the human voice is also an imperfect instrument. Any truly live performance will be full of notes that are slightly sharp and flat. That is the nature of the human voice. No singer intentionally sings flat or sharp and it is the pain of our existence as singers! That's not to say pitch isn't important. But I would address some of the technical areas that might be causing the flatting and go from there. Feel free to send me an email with a video and I can give you a little more advice: billygollnermusic@gmail.com

Hey billy i just found you here on youtube, really like the way you express yourself. I keep finding myself kinda frustated to not being able to master my head voice and get to some high notes without breaking, only when im fully relaxed and go for the note alone, probably running out of air. A4 is really difficult to sustain, more difficult than B4 to me. So my question is, how can i be sure that if i do it right it is right?, sometimes it seems doing falsetto sounds more accurate, sometimes pushing seems more expresive but i may run out of air or crack. Thank you, and great vid!

Hi Chris, this is a really great question. I would have to hear what you're referring to to know for sure. Do you happen to have a video that you could send me of you singing with those challenges? (you can email it to me: billygollnermusic@gmail.com). I just watched your video on KZbin. It sounds really nice, I like when you flip into falsetto on the top pitches. That sounds really good. But feel free to email me through a video and I can give you some more specific feedback -Billy

Wonderful and professional suggestions . Please , Billy let me know what do you think about creating online course for singing. I found easer to teach piano online. With the voice in order to get better quality in sound looks like I will need some prerecorded videos. You right each person has his own challenge and approach and voice teacher loves to teach in person just with all what is happening now with the pandemic it challenge me to find new ways of teaching voice lessons with the quality. If you have some tips, please share with me about online voice courses. Thank you.

Hey, Billy. You made such a great video. Thank you for your tips. I've a question about improving vocal range. Can't really go higher than F#4. I had 2 voice lessons and my voice teacher told me that I was in my mixed voice when I sang E - F#4, but than I started to strain hard. Sometimes I would strain even at F. How to go higher and not strain? Haven't figured it out yet ;)
