I don't understand why people make a big deal about shipping in the MLP fandom. It's not like most of the ships are going to become canon anyway (especially ships involving any of the main characters). The person "Lauren Faust" who created the show didn't want any of the main characters being in a romantic relationship and didn't want romance to be a big theme in the show for many reasons, which I agree with her. Friendship is supposed to be the main theme in "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic", and romance would take too much focus away from that theme. Loving someone as a friend and loving someone romantically are very different types of love, and the loving someone as a friend type of love needs to be focused more in fiction than it is. So what I'm saying is that having any of the main characters be in a romantic relationship and having romance be a big theme in the show would be a bad idea and it probably would hurt the show.

The only reason why I "ship" the characters is because some of them "together" have a nice synergy and would make good companions for life. And to be honest, they would look good together. And no, I wouldn't ship a characters just because they're standing together or something, I mostly ship the because they would have a good connection with each other. 1. You're probably right about Sunset and Flash, but the thing that stops that ship for me is that Sunset even said herself that she never really cared about him, but only used him to become more popular at the time. But then again, they can always pull the ye old, "I was lying" schtick on us to retcon that shit I suppose. 2. I actually liked Twilight and Timber as I think it showed us that DHX has gotten better at developing relationships between characters, and it kind of makes me curious on what they'll do with that in the future. 3. Can't argue with you there. 4. Most bronies tend to think that if two ponies share common traits, then that automatically means they should be together. Hell, some people are even shipping both Deadpool and Pinkie Pie together mainly on the basis of they're both goofballs, and both can break the fourth wall. My only argument about that is that Pinkie wouldn't date a psychopath that kills people like Deadpool does, who's obviously fucking insane. While I do ship Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich myself because it's so cute on how well they get along together, I can also see her with a pony who's a bit more reserved too. Like maybe she meets some shy pony guy who's very introverted, and she somehow brings out the best in him or something like that, while he remains a emotional rock for her so to speak.

But... it's not a "ship" if it's canon... That's like a married bachelor. Or a square circle. This obnoxious confusion that has arisen regarding the difference between "shipping" and something that is just a part of the show has created a lot of issues for people such as myself who are just trying to make a prediction about the future development of a show's plot, and people jump in with "lol, your ships will never happen" and similar such nonsense. I don't understand the mentality of shipping enough to ship. But, I DO know that the word originated specifically to refer to pairings of fictional characters that are not canon.

I (myself) can't stand shippers, because they are always trying to find evidence and use it to prove that their ship is canon or is going to become canon. When in fact, most of the times there is very little to no evidence that the characters they ship together show that they have romantic feelings for each other or even like each other at all. Another thing I can't stand about shippers is that they always get into shipping wars with other shippers about "who this character should be with"; in which I think is very ridiculous when they do that.

Ari TW He's a musician. That's constructive. The reason I have a problem with all the Flash hate, is because there's no real reason for it. Just silly stuff like saying he's bland, Twilight's live "Ken doll" and accusing him of being a waifu stealer mostly. And I can't really add much to his character or personalilty. He's already a nice guy with a strong sense of justice, if but a bit clumsy. Great musician with a bit of an ego and terrible baker. IMO, while we DO see AppleDash become canon in the show, that's only in Equestria. In the human world, they're completely different characters living completely different lives, so I strongly feel that RariJack is a lot more hinted at in the EG movies among the human counterparts and still highly likely to become a thing down the road. TL;DR, AppleDash is canon in the pony world, RariJack is all but canon in the human world.
