I think of Tia & Tamera, Robin & Maurice, The Proclaimers, and Zack & Cody. I'm one of the few people "of a certain age" who didn't care for "Full House" and were NOT enamored by the Olsens. (It's my thinking that they released movies on their own label because no one else would touch them.) Lesser known, I also think about Lindsay & Sidney Greenbush ("Little House on the Prairie"), Lorenzo & Nikolas Brino (who are actually 2 of quads) from "7th Heaven" and Jonathan and Drew Scott ("Property Brothers").

James and Oliver Phelps didn't start acting until they turned 15 and have only acted in about 13 shows or movies together. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen started acting as babies and after 8 seasons of Full House, acted in 29 television shows or movies together. I like James and Oliver Phelps too but Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen deserve the number 1 spot.

The Olsen twins were in the spotlight since they were nine months, their whole lives have literally been on camera, not to mention they dominated the latter part of the 80s, the entire 90s and part of the early 2000s. They were the first twins on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There were even several countdowns to their 18th birthday. They are THE twins. If you've never seen Harry Potter you probably wouldn't know Fred and George, you'd have to live under a rock to have never heard of Mary Kate and Ashley. They were basically everywhere, they had clothing lines as kids and fashion shows, they were producers from like 8, started their own production company not to mentions they spit out a bunch of random crap that were in households world over. Fred and George had a good role but that's literally nothing compared to those girls' multi million dollar enterprise which banked on them being twins.

Because it's not top 10 funniest twins. I know most people find them annoying, but the truth is that when you hear famous twins, most people picture the Olsens. It's the undeniable truth they themselves might not even like, but everyone knows the Olsens. Ask someone who knows almost nothing about American pop culture and they will know them. I never heard about the Full House until I was more than 20 (and watched about 3 minutes before switching the channel feeling even less respect for American audience) and they were still such a big presence, when I was growing up, that I can still tell them apart. They are examplary case of celebrity twins.

I love Tia and Tamera Mowry. I love their shows and movies: Sister Sister, 17 Again, Twitches (I wish they made a third movie) The Game (before BET ruined it) Roommates (short lived ABC Family show Tamera was on, I wish it wasn't cancelled) Double Wedding, and I watch them on Instant Mom and The Real. I still miss their reality show though. I also agree it's so easy to tell them apart, I instantly know which is which when I see them. Tamera's mole doesn't even matter, they look so different. It was harder to tell on Sister Sister, especially when they both had their curly hair and Tia wore a mole. The Olsen twins, I still can't tell them apart and apparently their not identical twins and T&T are? Crazy. The Olsens look more identical than Tia and Tamera do lol.

If anyone has ever seen the 1990's TV show "Sliders", which dealt with traveling to alternate dimensions, Cleavant Derricks' twin brother, Clinton Derricks-Carroll, often guest starred as the alternative version of his character Rembrant (Remmy) Brown. No CGI or stand ins required like with the other actors on the show.
