To clarify, I whole heartedly agree with you. The argument against is simply Drew never even lead the Cowboys in receptions or yards, as he was consistently out performed in those categories by Tony Hill. However, as you mention, every catch Drew Pearson made seemed like it was with the game on the line, big moments, just crazy clutch. Now... Let's talk about Tony Hill!

That was the second championship in a row they lost and they would lose a third the next year to the redskins. But the san fran game in 1981 was the only close one. So whe san Francisco came to within 4. I still remember thinking come on emmit just get enough to get those first downs and bam first play the crowd at candlestick goes from superloud to total silence. Nevermind the playoffs in my 40 years as a cowboy fan thats my alltime favorite play.

I loved Danny White. Probably one of my favorite all time Cowboy players. I was absolutely obsessed with Dallas during that time. Danny lost his best chance at a Superbowl trophy that year. But then along comes Irving Troy and Emmitt. Man were those guys special. We should have won 4 in a row. That San Francisco game in 94. The 21 point deficit was just to much for our boy's to overcome. I'll still say it today. We were the better team that day. Just unfortunate luck. Like the "Catch" ):

That Bill Bates pick was a seriously emotional moment. Bates busted his ass to get playing time. The first day Jimmy walked into Valley Ranch Bates was in full pads doing pull ups. @@joetodoroff1030 I don't put much value in what a defensive player says about their QB. Romo himself said, "I don't want to be the face of the franchise." He just wanted to be another one of the guys. Aikman used to get in his linesmen's faces and chew them out if needed. Romo would not. I remember before the 2014 season, Garrett made the statement that Romo would be more closely involved in directing the offense. That was his best year, barely losing to the Packers in the "Dez no catch game."
@joetodoroff10305 жыл бұрын
@@binkyxz3 YOU may not find that fact relevant, but look what happens when you have ineffective QBs leading an offense (Ravens, Bucs when they won Super Bowls, going back to old Broncos team when Craig Morton was leading them) they split teams right down the middle.....that quote was from very early in his career, taken out of context.......if Romo had played for Belichick, he would have as many rings as Brady has right now...much better athlete than Brady, as is now evident from his work in the booth, he knew exactly what his reads should have been..........his work in the AFC championship was clairvoyant......you cannot argue that his 4th quarter stats are the very best the game has known; in fact if he had had a defense that Dak now has, he would have won many playoff games, his offensive line from 2010-2013 was worthless........the blame was all on Jerry for not complimenting with talent on both the D and offensive line.......Jerry's knowledge of the game is/was dysfunctional; the only QB that had an advantage on Romo was Aaron Rodgers, he beat us both in 2014 and 2016 by his sheer talent
