I believe my desire to see your Top10 Beastmen in Digimon can take a backseat to insight on the Digivice.

Im expecting Durandamon somewhere on the list since it is an actual SWORD digimon based around legendary swords of fiction, like its namesake Durandal, the sword of Charlemagne. I was mistaken for it being on the list, but that's fine. Now im imagining any if these digimon wielding durandamon in its sword mode... Also off topic but i am surprised there's only 3 legend arms type digimon...

I wish Ouryumon is on the list. He is a swordsman with combat data from Dragons and Generals in Japanese myth, with high armor and holding swords in both hands.

I knew you would add tactimon but I don't know it's the first of the list infact I commented your post to add tactimon .I knew because tactimon and his sword are like husband(tactimon) and wife (his sword,sword of storm)

Honestly I think it's more difficult to say the best digimon swordsman than others may think. Yes there are certainly powerful digimon that do have swords, but I do question it less on power behind digimon and more so skill which is admittedly more difficult to analyze when it comes to digimon but the possibility is still there. A reason I say this is cause I have dabbled in European fencing and longsword combat myself and noticed the difference between actually being powerful or strong and skills with the sword. Which is why while slayerdramon is one of my favorite digimon out there I do question him as a swordsman compared to others, though that might be cause actual skill accolades are tough to analyze in digimon at times. That said I can see tactimon on the list and at number one, especially if he's skilled tactically too.

Nice video, appreciate your insight. Surprised Gallantmon CM wasnt here, at least lower down in the list. I'm fairly certain he could take on and win against some of the other swordsmen in the bottom 5. I agree he shouldn't be further up in the list because he can't maintain this form for very long, but given his sword and spear have no physical form, I have to imagine that gives him some sort of advantage when it comes to slashing speed, or the ability of the opponent to block a weapon made entirely out of energy. I'm not sure that would necessarily rival Zanbamon's ability to shred anything, but it is a similar thought. Also, Gallantmon CM can fly, which I'm sure gives him an advantage over other members of this list. And lastly, he's red, which everyone knows means he can Go Fast

I've been wondering something for a while: is Shurimon more of a shinobi or samurai? If you are having trouble getting some appropriate definitions, or just need help with your research on the subject, you could try reaching out to Gaijin Goombah; he has a channel on KZbin where he mainly talks about Japanese history and culture and how it relates to various media, he even has a series on his channel called Which Ninja? where he does a breakdown of shinobi in media and explains how good they are as shinobi based on verifiable historical sources, and another one called Which Samurai? where he does the same for samurai in media.

A good chunk of these aren't what I call swordsmen as a swordsman is defined by how skilled they are with the blade not the fact that they have a blade. In that sense the blade itself is irrelevant because if the sword is doing most of the work then the one wielding it is no swordsman. Throwing building sized swords, being a gaint with stolen power and crushing everything, or being a trickster with teleporting blades is not a swordsman but instead is artillery, a brute, and a jester respectively. Off the top of my head Gladimon would be on the list simply because its skill with the blade is what matters. Perhaps Shadiversity and Skallagrim two you could turn to for help with this subject? They do know their blades.
