Pretty much almost all of duel links meta decks were never top tier in the TCG. Exceptions are bwings and invoked engine (even though the decks are built way too differently).

What about psy-frame beta? I know technically it doesn’t count as a direct attack activation, but that’s what it’s used for. It summons itself from the hand as well as Driver from anywhere, it destroys the attacking monster then ends the battle phase. That’s a +3 in card economy even though they’re banished in the end phase. But if you have the field spell you could even use Beta to synchro summon Zeta or something

How can that be +3? It's more like neutral card advantage or even minus 1 if you have driver in your hand. You do remember that it banish itself and driver right? Gama can be +3 as it can be activated in your turn while Beta need something like I;P or formula Synchron to be useful.

@@finndershood5557 I think that's an interesting debate on if Ultimate Falcon counts. It's effect is a large part of why it sees play, but at the same time it wouldn't see nearly as much play if it wasn't such a large body. That might be something to consult someone more knowledgeable about

Des Dendle: This is a Level 4 Earth Plant type Union monster with 300 Attack Points and 2000 Defense Points and has an effect where if equipped to "Vampiric Orchis" and the latter attacks and destroys an opposing monster successfully, you can special summon a "Wicked Plant" token to your side of the field.

HM for Stardust respark. In a meta that revolves around special summoning, it is a more powerful variant of CounterGate and can open up some potent Counterplays with further Synchros. The potential targets have good stats too.

For Dimension Gate, THE best use for it in my opinion is with cards like the Yubel cards that have a maintenance cost during the End Phase to completely bypass it! With Yubel specifically, I nearly reached King of Games rank on Duel Links with it back when GX/5Ds were added. simply because of how amazingly well it worked, since if someone managed to clear my other cards (XYZ Fusions for easy removals and Prime Material Dragon for destruction negates) and attack with the monster that was capable of beating over said monsters, Yubel would automatically return and bounce all the damage back to them, quite possibly just finishing them off, so at best opponents would have to stall me out since they had no way to get to my LP! Only reason I didn't manage to reach top tier with the deck was honestly the insane amount of Gear support and decks that kept popping up which prevented Dimension Gate from activating when it most needed to and, while possible, it was a pain to play around them so I just gave up. All in all though, unless the opponent is using Gear monsters or cards that prevent the activation of it during attack declaration, then it works wonders as a failsafe with Yubel!

So, when I was still in High School I had the typical dragon deck. But I had a little spin on it. I would summon out RedEyes Darkness Metal Rragon, use the effect to summon , enter battle phase, and after it attacked, use Dimension Gate, immediately destroy it, attack again, then during MP2 I’d summon another monster.

I would have put "Superheavy Samurai Gigagloves" on the list, cause getting advantage is always strong. While I can see that it's super situational bacause you have to draw another Superheavy Samurai its still better than at least Counter Gate and sees still play in Duel Links

I really like how I found your videos by chance and got completely caught up with Yu-gi-oh again. I played when I was a kid (2004) buying packs and just finding the cards cool and then again in 2012 in a site that only had some cards where effects and traps were broken and I did not know it, so I never played the game with proper rulling but it was fun. I went out to see what is the competitive metagame now and was so sad. The game is just boring. It lasts 3 turns for each player but each turn takes so much time...the mechanics and cards are broken...I played Magic the Gathering for years and the game mechanics with Mana (basically not letting you do whatever the hell you want on one turn) and not being able to attack when you summon a creature makes it so ballanced and more interesting to play. Is there any chance this current state of yugioh changes to something like it was years ago? Like slower, with more turns and less "one guy plays a turn for minutes while the other just watch"?

the only problem I see in battle fader that isnt really mentioned is the fact that it can be stopped by floodgates that prevent special summons which in that case swift scarecrow could be situationally better in that case
