Great video! As an extra note about the Abyss Actor cards, there is also a monster, "Abyss Actor - Comic Relief", which lets you basically get off any Abyss Script floating effect for free. During each Standby Phase, the card controller switches control over to the opponent, and when this happens, the card OWNER (not controller) can destroy one set Abyss Script card on the field. Basically, this means that you switch control of Comic Relief to your opponent, and then you choose a set card to destroy to activate its floating effect. Because the card is controlled by the opponent, you still proc its floating effect. It only works with Abyss Script Spell/Traps specifically, so it doesn't work with the Abyss Prop that was on this list, but it is still insanely good to have that kind of coverage.
@talkinghoorse69364 жыл бұрын
Their field spell also turns an opponent's monster effect into "destroy one set card your opponent controls" once per turn, adding more consistency.

As someone who does not play yugioh, and have learned all that I know almost exclusively from youtube videos, the concept of a card "missing timing" is really intriguing to me. I have never encountered it in the other card games that I have played, and because of that I find it cool. If you are looking for video ideas, maybe a list of cards which frequently miss timing/cause other cards to miss timing could be interesting

Normally cards that denote "When...you can" tend to miss timing. If you are intrigued in more instances read up on Problem Solving Card Text on the wiki.
@lightningstrike98764 жыл бұрын
Honestly though if there's one thing about Yugioh Dueling that I think should 100% be removed from the game, it's the idea of a card "Missing it's Timing". If you activate the card correctly, and your opponent doesn't play a card that specifically says to negate your card, the effect should work.
@BanPitbulls4 жыл бұрын
Forreal..they could have implemented this in master rule 4.5,but I guess they “missed timing” on that opportunity. Seriously though,when I first started playing yugioh (in video games) I thought missing timing just meant that I missed the chance to press the right button to activate an effect of a card in a crucial moment,but it’s just a bs rule

I'm rather surprised that no cards from the Eldlich/Golden Land archtype managed to get on the list, as their whole gimmick revolves around the floating effects of their Spell and Traps. Having cards that can floating nigh indefinitely into destruction, banish from the grave, omni negates, and several ways to summon from the Deck or Graveyard is pretty stellar, and the fact you can trigger the floating effects yourself is a huge plus in their favor. Perhaps they didn't make it onto the list due to them being too new, or because they don't give their pluses right away? I'm honestly curious why....

Both need to be equipped before being destroyed to proc their floating effects (Blast with Chain is a Trap that becomes an Equip, Smoke Grenade is a straight Equip), and both have mandatory floats (so no missing timing). Blast with Chain has you target and destroy 1 card on the field (can be a monster or a Spell/Trap), Smoke Grenade has you look at your opponent's hand and choose a card from it to discard. Back in the day, these used to be pretty fun alongside Gearfried the Iron Knight.

Ooh. I think this is the first time where I think there actually is another card to consider for this list. Apple of Enlightenment. Much like the Abyss actor cards, it's locked to a... not so great archetype. In this case Valkyries. But it has the floating effect that: "If this Set card in its owner's control has left the field because of an opponent's effect, and is now in the GY or banished: You can draw cards equal to the number of "Valkyrie" monsters you control +1" Valkyries are quite a swarmy deck with ride of the valkyries letting you special up to 3 from hand, Sechste letting you special summon from the deck if it itself is special summoned, sigrun special summoning from the hand or grave if summoned etc. So it's not hard to have a full field of 5 monsters, turning the effect into a draw 6. (They don't have any extra deck monsters unfortunately, so no getting that 7th card). But +5 even if your opponent think's they're being clever by banishing instead of sending to the graveyard is pretty good and it doesn't even have to be destroyed.

While it is the hardest floating effect to proc properly for any deck as it needs all 3 copies to be sent to the GY by an opponent's card effect, it's also technically the best floating effect in the game as it outright wins the duel. The looping floats of the Vylon equips. Not list worthy but still good.

This maybe too specific, but would a top 10 "decks that can be used for playing Exodia" be an interesting video? Like with the Abyss cards that can bring 5 spell cards, can that deck be used to get Exodia? Milling 5 cards is really effective for that set of cards.

Unchained monsters are so trash that it doesn't matter if you can special summon them from the deck. Having to be destroyed by only your opponent is such a big downside compared to be destroyed by either player that the effect that triggers doesn't even matter. Even if it's draw 2, if you can't trigger it, it doesn't do anything. The only exception is if the s/t has a very good on field effect that forces the opponent to destroy it. Returning your opponent's cards to their hand is good, but only if you choose when to do it. Usually your opponent will clear your backrows asap, so this can get destroyed before your opponent commits to the board. Also, the Eldlich cards, although not triggering upon being sent to the gy, replaces themselves. They technically count as floating. They see competitive play because of their recursive nature, so they should be on this list. Geartown is good because it triggers even when destroyed from the hand or on your opponent's field. You can use Set Rotation to give your opponent Geartown, then destroy it, and you get to trigger the effect. Unfortunately both set rotation and dragonic diagram are limited.

0/10 ignores ojamagic, which lets you go up to +2 in card advantage. Jk. Great list
