Same here. But there was really no one there to show us how to properly lift. I remember lifting so hard and getting so sore, that I didn't want to go back. It wasn't until college where I got hooked for life, but it was because I learned the proper way to lift and gradually increase the workout frequency.

Since building out my home gym, my 7 year old asks me constantly when he can workout with me. He wants to “pick up the 25 plate, the 35 plate” and walks around with it like a Husafell stone. I’ve been going through some body weight stuff with him but will definitely incorporate these. Thanks, Jon! Glad you’re feeling better! 🙏

Mostly I just try to make sure they have fun and keep everything positive for them. Thanks for the family content!

I love it! Videos (and I'm sure your new program) like these really help the kids that want to try out exercise, but are too intimidated or nervous about approaching a coach or peer about learning more about fitness (i.e. being seen). One of my favorite kid friendly exercises are backward uphill bear crawls, because they're 1. goony looking, 2. hard, and 3. a pretty great accomplishment for any person of any age, regardless of how you execute them. When's the yo-yo duel happening?

I just recently read about the covid can cause blood clogs too. That was the reason of many strokes, heart problems and even the "covid feet" for children. I know you had clogs before, but this could be a reason too. Just thought it worth mentioning. Take care! About the video. It was good but I think you went a little easy on them. :) I remember my 1 year younger brother could do push ups from a head stand. When we started training it was a good measure of progress when I was able to do one.... obviously he could do more by than. :)
