Having been a McLaren fan up to that point, I was exited that my countrymen was there, stuff was going to happen, and the team had promised Checo was their driver of the future and that they'd help in developing him. As the season went along, it was clear the car wasn't great but hey it's the car's fault, they said they're going to help him develop as a driver, he'll be fine. Then he was dropped and they spouted similar things about KMag. I was done with Mclaren at this point. Looking not as a fan of theirs at the dumpsterfire it was so sad...then the same thing happened when they brought in StoffelWaffle, saying how they where in it with them for the long run with him and that he was the future. When Norris was announced I was expecting the same crap from them, but I failed to take into account Norris was now headed to a very different Mclaren team, and I've loved how they've grown in the Brown/Siedl era. I'm back to being a fan of theirs...as well as now a fan of a certain Austrian drink company. To be fair, Checo at the Mclaren point was not the guy who's matured and become a figure that drives his team and is a nice guy liked by the team, but was known as a bit of a difficult driver, and he didn't make many friends in his McLaren era. Also he absolutely nuked his relationship with his then manager, a previous IndyCar/Cart title contender and Aston Martin LMS driver Adrian Fernandez, but he was still a kid who renounced the Ferrari Driver Academy to join McLaren only to end up with nothing at the end of 1 unsuccessful year. I can't relate to the pressure he was under, and can't hold it against him.

@@JB22. Personally Rosberg had a better 2010's than Alonso for me. His win in 2012 was in a car worse than any car Alonso won in the 2010's. Alonso is very hard to judge in this decade given his teammate most of the time was Massa who really was sub-par this whole decade. After Massa left Ferrari he got obliterated by Bottas at Williams. So not the greatest of benchmark. Agree about Button. Not the greatest qualifier. But such an elite racer.

Agree. Dani Ric and Bottas were rival in their junior career and their pace were even. No way Bottas would have had massive pace advantage to Dani Ric or vice versa when they went to F1, unless either Bottas or Dani Ric landed on a superior car to another. Another thing why is their pace remain even in F1 is Dani Ric and Bottas finished 3 and 4 at 2014 final standing. It was Bottas second F1 year. Both of them outscored the previous RBR golden boy Vettel. RBR sat 2nd on the final constructor standing and William was 3rd. Probably a bit biased as an Alonso fan but I really can't see how Alonso can be lower than Vettel or Hamilton. Alonso didn't have a single year off in the 2010s. Consistently overperforming while at Ferrari, he was without a doubt the best driver in the 2010-13 period. Fighting Vettel at his peak in a greatly inferior car in 2012 talks for itself. He should have NEVER been in the fight for the title, NEVER. Talking of Vettel, yes he was absolutely insane in the 2010s but after the 2018 summer, his performances really dropped and regular mistakes started to creep in. Hence why I'd put him behind Alonso. Now, onto Lewis. What he has done at Mercedes is nothing short of incredible. As you said, he joined the team when it had already won a race but when they started to be dominant past 2014, he was always there. Rarely, have we ever seen someone that can deliver at such high level so consistently. The problem I have is the way he started the 2010s. 2010 was a good year for him. He was in the championship fight and did well. However, the next 2 years were rough, 2011 especially. Many mistakes, lots of crashes and poor performances. As said above, Alonso didn't have any year off. Easily the best driver in the first half of the decade, many great performances flew under the radar when he was at McLaren. The 2018 Azerbaijan GP is often forgotten but he went from barely making it to the pits with 2 punctured wheels, a heavily damaged floor to a P6. I'm sure there is other example but I can think of any other on top of my head Anyway, that's just my humble opinion =D

@@madjayax731 I agree with you that Alonso is an overall faster driver than Vettel. However, you can’t really dispute the fact that Vettel won 4 titles. To add to that, Vettel put in a lot of good performances and impressive wins at Ferrari during 2015 - 2019. So across 2010 - 2019, I do think Vettel deserves to be higher on this list.

Ricciardo should not be ahead of Max, Max got more wins, podiums and points over Ricciardo. Ricciardo was beaten by three teammates that decade.

I understand why you didn't put bottas there for his mercedes career, but his time at williams must have been something to prove why he deserves tenth place.
@baymax12 жыл бұрын
Bottas deserves a place in top 10 because in the merc it was more of a team order than his skills and let's not forget what he did at Williams

God damn I hope you’re here till 2030, you’re the one guy I come to for all the info I need for racing. Like just imagining you not making videos would be the worst, I mean you literally got me into the history of formula one. Don’t quit, you are the best KZbinr man

I can't believe bottas is not in your top ten and raikkonen is. Let's not forget all bottas done to get that merc seat in the first place.

I think you nailed it, maybe I'd debate Carlos at #10, but that's it.

People forget how easy lewis make it look on the track and when you are the guy to beat for a better half of 8 years, you are officially a GOAT. Only other driver I could think of with such longevity is Michael from 1994-2006., The target. THE guy to beat. But as a qualifier, Lewis is almost flawless. Singapore 2018 springs to mind, when team needs him the most, he delivers, he delivers beautifully. Even in 2021, he did what he had to do, take the lead but luck runs out at some point and no one deserves 2021 more than MAX. but Lewis is still the king of F1. IDK why is he so humble in media if I had 100 wins i would just look in the camera and say 100 and just move away when someone questions my talent

To everyone complaining about Max's place... Just think about where he'll be in the top 10 of the 20s.

You should have added Webber into Top10. Yeah he was outweighed by Vettel but especially in 2010 he was fighting for title till last race, being their 2nd driver. His rivals were named Vettel Alonso Hamilton Button and Raikkonen, maybe the best grid ever of 2000s. And if he had not his multiple bad startings he could have at least 15 wins. He should be higher ranked than Sainz or Perez.

He's honestly my #12 on the decade but yeah...

Sainz should be out of the List and in his place Botas But Webber men not rly He was only good in 2010 2011: Car is op and he gets destroyed. 2012: Again he is nowhere 2013:He was absolute shit car again was OP and he was behind Alonso in way slower Ferrari ?
