About 7 years ago, there was a reality show called MOMMA'S BOY. 3 guys get to know 21 girls, and the guys' moms eliminated contestants based on what they wanted for their sons. It was so fake and so crazy, I'm still surprised to this day how it made a full season. Nearly all the girls were either playboy bunnies or worked for penthouse; all 3 moms were superficial and had standards so high, it was nearly impossible for anyone to meet them. The guys were sexist, the moms were racist, the girls were so ditsy. Oh my god, it was just a mess.

The Phone was a show about 4 people competing in teams of two for, I think it was $50,000. It would start with each player receiving a phone call from the host. Then with instructions to find and meet their teammate. Then the two teams would be put through a series of activist in order to move to the next round. At some point one of the teams would be eliminated and it would just be the one team. But, towards the end of the show, the two teammates are then competing against each other for the money, and whoever wins would have the option of spliting with their partner or keeping the prize to themselves. It was a very enjoyable show, but they only shot 4 episodes.

I actually loved "Mr Personality" LOL--the ending was just so embarrassing, the runner up dude was this gorgeous model looking guy and then the "winner" (who was this average guy) was revealed and the look of disappointment on the woman's face was classic! Not to mention the idea of having Monica Lewinsky host was just so weird. Meanwhile the list is missing "Pirate Master" a game show-reality show that the producer of "Survivor" created --this show was a disaster and didn't complete its run, and on top of it one of the contestants went on to commit suicide!

+Bogmire42 FOX in the early 90's and mid 2000's was very experimental in its programing since it was fairly new network at the time. Having only been around for about 10-14 years. Which is baby years in Tv.. So they pushed for a lot of reality tv after Survivor became a mega hit since they are a lot cheaper to make. They made their own awful versions like Boot Camp (Survivor), Joe Millionair (The Bachelor), and Paradise Hotel (Mix of both Survivor and Bachelor. Though some of there were ranting hits like Joe and Paradise. They never got it good with critics and audience after there 2nd seasons. The only success the came out of period were American Idol and Hell Kitchen. Both shows led to huge success for the network.

Kid Nation in CBS failed, I wish they’d bring it back because the show was actually good. This show was about 40 kids aged 8-15 trying to build a town by themselves. They wouldn’t be voted off, they’d only go home if they wanted to. 4 kids were a town council that made decisions, each of the 4 kids was the leader of a district (like a tribe on survivor) At the end of challenges, each district would compete and each got a “class”, the upper class, the merchants, the cooks and the laborers. Every town hall meeting one kid would win a gold star worth $20,000 and was chosen by the council. The only reason it failed was because there were weird law gray areas and caused argument over child labor laws, because there was some shit about how child actors work under child labor laws, but since here reality show contestants they were by themselves for 40 days, they basically weren’t technically actors and were kept in the same living conditions for the entire time. However, they weren’t cruel conditions or anything, and while a lot of things were somewhat staged, many of the events that happened were from the kid’s own choices and actions, and a most of it was real. Micheal, one of the kids who was 15 at the time, made a reddit thread a few years ago where he answered people’s questions about the show. Worth a read.

The Britney one should not be an honorable mention, it didnt fail at all. She recorded her life for the time of a whole tour and at some point she proposed to the future father of her two boys. Her team decided to release the material as a mini docu series with a limited number of episodes. It was then released as a DVD and fans ate it up, it also came with a bonus CD with new songs. So that was a win win for everyone.

"Farmer wants a wife" is actually a gigantic hit in Poland where I live, it is currently running for 8th season here. It didn't catch on with me, though, and I fail to see why it's so popular. "Splash" was also briefly aired in Poland, it bombed even more massively than in the US.
