The Su-47 isn't the first aircraft to have it's wings swept forward. NASA have done experiments into that as well with their X-planes. Ultimately it was simply considered not worth the drawbacks. Also, the aircraft you're talking about is the (cancelled) PAK-FA.The A-10 isn't made for air to ground and slow is considered an advantage. That's why it's so slow.The F-22 IRL is the most lethal plane in the skies today. That's why it's so expensive.You have some Su-27s mixed in with your Su-37s. As the Su-37 is based off of the Su-27, it's understandable.It's designed to be low observable. That's why it's so quiet.

I think there is a something ironic, that I, as russian, love US aircrafts as f. Especially F-15, and honestly, I don't know why. Maybe it's because its design is something like perfect combination of brutality and elegance. Like 1911, undead classic. If I need to choose one from WW2, it will be F4U aka Corsair, because it's wings cool AF. Oh, I forgot about F-2. I love it because of two reasons, first it's F-16 (How can you not love f-16), and the second, it's japanese F-16 which gives him +100 to ... I don't f know to what, but it's definitely makes him cooler. Especially with his beautiful blue camo with red national markings on wings, I love it.
im not russian but im quite sure SU-47's name is kinda pronounced Suhoi SU-47. And F4F tigercat is a ww2 era fighter, not a bomber. it could be used as a fighter-bomber-attacker, its practically multirole. And my favorite aircraft ever is the Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA, just because it has stealth capabilities and it just looks really really REALLY powerful.

One of the more overlooked and forgotten aircraft (which is my main aircraft) is the YF-23 Black Widow. The F-23 was an American made fighter that was being made at the same time the F-22 Raptor was. However ,the YF-23 and the F-22 were tested against each other to see which was over all the best design. As feat would have it the F-22 came out on top ,however the YF-23 was still just as good as the F-22 and had they been smart when making the F-35 Lightning the F-23 could have filled its roll and F-35 could have helped by never becoming a thing.

@mattwalker94427 жыл бұрын
Alright, as I said before, I'd post a response. I'm using a separate account due to this being my PC account and my initial reply belonging to my account on my mobile device. As promised, here is my full reply to your claim. The very statement that the F-35 wouldn't exist if the YF-23 had been picked over the F-22 or if it had been put into service alongside the F-22 is a flat out lie. You either don't understand how the selection of aircraft for the USAF works today or you deliberately said what you said knowing its a lie. Either way, its exceptionally skewed. The way that the USAF, and a good amount of the US military in general has done it this way as well, is that they hold contests for contracts. The highest performing aircraft, tank, firearm, etc. with the most reasonable price gets picked. Sometimes you don't have the luxury of a lower costing aircraft, but that's life. Next, before I get into the meat of USAF aircraft doctrine as it stands now, I feel that I should explain the way of thought that we implement for aircraft. We use what is called the "High-Low Mix." This basically calls for high numbers of lower quality aircraft that can act as multi-role aircraft instead of having to call out the more expensive dedicated aircraft. A great example of this actually is the F-16, F-15, and A-10. The F-16, being the low in the mix, can do everything, but not all that well whereas the F-15 is exceptionally good at air-to-air (and eventually actually took a multi-role stance with the D and E variants, but we'll use the fighter variants for explanation sake) but not too good at air-to-ground, and visa versa with the A-10. One main exception to this is the F-22. It pretty much took the spot for top fighter for the USAF, but given that it was so expensive, only a limited number was built and pretty much acted as a bridge between 4th Gen aircraft (F-16, F-15, A-10, F-18, Sukhois, Migs, etc.) and 5th Gen aircraft, the first of which, for the US at least, is the F-35. Firsts for other counties would be things like the T-50 PAK-FA, J-20, J-31, etc. This brings us to what the F-35 is meant to do: be that low in the mix for 5th Gen aircraft and to do a bit of everything. With the F-35 coming into active combat roles in smaller numbers around this time, we're going to finally see its combat capabilities, at least against insurgent forces. This opportunity will help to find out if the F-35 can conduct air-to-ground missions and to provide a basis for corrections in that single field. As it stands, there's actually a large amount of the F-35 that we don't know about. Things like the true top speed, full maneuverability capabilities, and so on. I'll go ahead and make a segment here in the case of any points you bring up which tends to be popular with anti-F-35 people, often not actually knowing the actual details, which can hardly be blamed as, again, not much is still known about it and there is plenty of bullshit floating around that is false conjecture. 1. "The F-35 was beat by an F-16 in a mock dogfight." -If the people who mainly reported on this actually read the entire report instead of cherry picking it, we wouldn't have this twisted tale in the first place. What actually happened is that the F-35 in question was one of the prototypes, designation AF-02, at the time and was testing the restrictiveness of the flight computer designed to help the pilot from pulling dangerous maneuvers that would risk both him/her and the aircraft. The computer was adjusted as per the input and suggestions of the test pilot. They used a F-16 variant as a point of reference for its maneuverability, which yes, it is somewhat likely that the F-16 is more maneuverable than the F-35, but this is hardly a reason to argue against the F-35 as most, if not all air-to-air combat nowadays is BVR (Beyond Visual Range), and trust me when I say this, the F-35 is more than well enough equipped to handle BVR. 2. "The F-35 has already cost $1 Trillion USD." -This is often a miss-read estimate that often gets taken and used as a present statistic. The $1 Trillion USD estimate was supposed to be the ENTIRE cost of the F-35 program in its entirety until 2065. The estimate is actually outdated if I'm not mistaken, but I doubt the F-35 will make it into the mid-to-late 2050s if we keep up aircraft development as we have. 3. "The F-35 has already been denounced by other aircraft designers." -If Pierre Sprey is one of those people, ignore what he says. Completely. He has said in the past multiple times denouncing other aircraft as well for having "this radar junk," has claimed he designed the A-10 (which he didn't, he only helped draw up the requirements for an air-to-ground aircraft that helped birth the competition that lead to the A-10), has gone back and forth on the F-15 multiple times (as in supporting or opposing it), and has even gone so far as to say that we should replace the M1 Abrams series with the old M48s with one of his main points being that the M48 can clear roadside ditches while the M1 can't (this is inherently a flawed point given that US Armored doctrine adheres to mainly supporting infantry, who would be more than capable of clearing roadside ditches) along with other arguments filed with either cherry picking or false points and statistics. 4. "The F-35 per model cost is too high." -I somewhat agree with this point, actually. I do think that the F-35 price for the different variants are a bit too expensive, but they got renegotiated recently to be $100 Million or lower, so there is that along with the fact that the more we make, the cheaper they'll be. 5. "The F-35 has problems with the ejection seat that could kill the pilot." -Problem has already been fixed. If you have any questions or would like to commence in a full debate, please do let me know, I'd be more than happy to.

Might as well list my personal favourites as top 3 only lol #1: F-15 S/MTD - I already love the F15. The F15 is fast, can also dogfight pretty well, and features good weaponry, mainly air to air though. The reason I like the S/MTD more though is because it's basically a super-maneuverable version of the F15, with even better weaponry. #2 :F-15C - I blame Ace Combat Zero for this one. Aside from that, it's a really fast and pretty maneuverable aircraft, with good weaponry, and just being iconic in general. #3: Sukhoi 37 - Ace Combat 2's protagonist, Phoenix, has a plane skin in AC7. It's literally the reason it's up here. Now, the Su-37 is mainly an AA dominator, featuring HPAAs, 4AAMS (or XMAAs) and... TLS? Sure, most people like it because of Yellow 13, but I like it because of Phoenix. This aircraft does feature supermaneuverability, so that's also a plus. Honorable mention: FB-22 Strike Raptor - I like this Dorito Of Death because it's a jack of all trades. Long range missiles, and bombs. It can dogfight, but the regular F22 is better in that aspect, it can be a BVR machine, though not having the best in speed. Last but not least, the reason that overpowers everything I just said... It looks cool.
For ground attack only the A-10 is the best you can get, the aircraft is not meant to combat other aircraft. For missions where you will attack both air and ground targets I prefer the F-35. For air to air combat I use either the SU-57 for the pulse lasers or the F-22 Raptor for the air to air muti lock missiles. Of course I am referring to Ace Combat 7 for the most part. How a aircraft looks is not nearly as important as how well the aircraft performs in its intended roll. Multi Role are meant to attack either air targets or ground targets but isn't as proficient as a dedicated fighter or ground attack aircraft. Air supremacy fighters are best at fighting other aircraft. Bombers like to destroy ground targets while avoiding confrontations with other aircraft. A carrier aircraft often is a multi role aircraft so this means Tomcat, Super Hornet and F-35 to name 3. The Typhoon is also a multi role I believe.

In response to your comments on the Sukhoi Su-57, (and yes you said it correctly), you asked, "who would do such a thing", (swept-forward wings)? Well, the United States, for one. Way back in the 1980's, DARPA made the XF-29, a demonstrator aircraft to explore the use of swept-forward wings. They only made two and retired both quite some time ago, as they were not that much of an improvement over normal swept wing aircraft. The Russians wanted to duplicate/improve the design for their own experiments and came up with the Sukhoi Su-57, (originally the Su-47, by the way). It was used as a demonstrator itself and never went into production. I am not sure if they built just the one, or if they made a second one as well. But I do know that they never built in numbers, as they found out that the same answer to the question that the American's did, it wasn't that much of an improvement to warrant the expenses incurred.

10. The F-16C looking like the F-5 is no coincidence since they originate from the exact same Red Bird program. While Blue Bird was for expensive cutting-edge fighter-bombers with radar-guided missiles, long flight range and the like, Red Bird was for a very barebones cheap single role fighter with the bare minimum for avionics and range. However, parts of the Blue Bird requirements spilled onto the F-16, giving it strong radar and great multirole capabilities as well as high tech weaponry and range. PA treats the F-16 a little harsh since that thing will dance around an F-15 with ease if forced into a sustained turn IRL. In fact, you'd have to go to 4.5th gens like the Rafale to challenge the F-16 in that regard since no proper 4th gen can compete with it in sustained turns. 7. There's a couple of good reasons the Su-47 was canned. First was the stress on the airframe itself, which would make annual maintenance costs quite ridiculous. Second is the collapse of the USSR (program started in the 1980s), which means the funding's just gone. Third involves the fact that it and the 1.44 were made to somehow counter the F-22 through mobility and strong radar, but stealth was just way stronger than the Russians thought. Wasn't a total failure though, since the internal bay probably helped make the Su-57's internal bay possible. Hell I think the Su-57 might be taking quite a bit of its tech from the Su-47 in general, hence why they keep the thing around. 5. Hey don't diss the A-10's mobility like that. Its insane yaw means you can make up for the pitch issues that way, plus its slow nature means its turn radius is pretty tight. Even the real thing is surprisingly agile at low speeds to the point of its 4th gen fighter brethren struggling from time to time in a dogfight. Only real problem is its acceleration, which is awful. A shame that AC's mission design doesn't let the A-10 shine like it should due to usually having a mix of air and ground targets, not to mention fighters having decent A2G SPW. 4. $150M a plane or so. Also I don't think there's a single AC game where it's necessarily a bad plane, just where it's a little less good (AC 2 and arguably Air Combat). 1. It looks bulky because the F-14 is huge. The sheer size of that lad is something I think is overlooked, which is a shame since it's also one of the reasons I like it. It can even take a beating since the lifting body design makes it depend less on its wings for flight. A shame it got retired due to its role being obsolete with the lack of strategic bombers to shoot at, meaning that its pretty large maintenance costs are just made more obvious. Nowadays it's all about jacks of all trades, which makes sense. Though I only really miss the late F-14A, F-14B and F-14D. The early version with the TF engines just sucked.
@plswhy5 жыл бұрын
As for a list, it would depend on the game specifically. Still, here's kind of my top 10, excluding AC 6 DLC planes that might as well be fictional due to their absurd stats. 10. YA-10B (AC 5): It's weird that I choose something from AC 5 since I generally prefer planes with more personality being showcased through instability. But the YA-10B is just weird. Somehow it has great pitch (above S-32 tier), while having excellent yaw. On top of that it has FAEBs. It's so weird but I like it. 9. MiG-21-93 (AC X): This is so wrong. Everything about this is wrong. Why does the MiG-21 turn that fast? My mind cannot process this since it even outturns the F-5E by a lot. A 3rd gen interception dorito airframe somehow turns that fast. I am done. I can't process this anymore. Still pretty fun to use regardless due to pure cognitive dissonance. 8. MiG-21bis (AC 7): How many times we gotta teach PA that 3rd gen doritos shouldn't turn that fast, especially not so fast that superplanes cannot keep up? The MGP is just death incarnate for those willing to tune it that far, plus at a low cost you could get this thing in 2k lobbies and make people cry. It can't handle EML at all but what can't EML kill anyway? It stays here as a monument to PA's ridiculous overestimation of the deadly Balalaika. 7. Su-35/F-15S (AC 2): Everything about it is overkill. Too much turn rate. Too much acceleration. Yet I feel great about using it somehow. It's kind of my comfort plane, that I choose just to mess around. The F-15S is around the same so I feel including it in the list again is redundant. 6. Su-37 (AC 4): Kind of a stereotypical choice, but I like that thing despite its stat bars being a lie. It dominates anything in terms of mobility including the X-02, but at the same time it has this instability that I like to see and QAAM boating. Were it not for its lack of multitargets I would put it higher. 5. Mirage 2000 (AC 4): A plane I feel is very severely underestimated. Sure, it looks like your average mid-tier plane, but in that average plane lies the engine of a god. This is the only plane in AC 4 that can outaccelerate an X-02, at least until supersonic speeds. Yet at the same time its UGBS is superior for peppering high value targets than BDSP by far, making it a scary schnellbomber. It helps that I really like the RL plane quite a bit for also being shockingly fast (0.7 power/weight but apparently outaccelerates and outspeeds an F-16 that has over 1 power/weight while rocking those neat MICAs). 4. Tornado F2 (AC 1): It's a strange choice indeed. There's the punchy F-15C, the agile bruiser EF-2000 and the super agile YF-22, yet I choose this brick. This is because this specific plane really shows the AC 1 flight model in its purest form in my eyes, leading to all sorts of shenanigans. The F-15C is still better all around but the Tornado still has my heart. 3. S-32 (AC X): Now this is another plane that one would think is an obvious choice but I choose it for the weirder reasons. Being one of the concepts for the Su-47 it's very agile and even comes with QAAMs for the sweet damage. Yet this is not the main reason I like it a lot. The main reason is the center fire missiles. Unlike most planes whose missiles come from the wings or side bays, the missiles come from the central internal bay in the fuselage. This leads to incredible head-on accuracy while having the QAAMs also center fire. Probably the most accurate missile platform in AC X for that reason, minus the weight you can really feel when turning (tis a big bird after all). 2. A-10A (ACX): A recent plane I've been toying around with that just keeps surprising me. Yes, it's good at A2G, but it's no F-15S/MTD with its FAEBs or something. What really makes me intrigued is its very odd flight characteristics. In AC X it flies like it doesn't want to stay airborne, as turns make it feel like it's dipping into the ground. The yaw is still fantastic as expected, but then you climb and see something really odd. The A-10A suffers a very considerable drop in performance if it's at medium altitude (10k ft is enough), having a stall speed in the 300 mph region and turning insanely badly. Yet at sea level it has a sub-100 mph stall speed and very respectable turn rate. While all AC X planes suffer at altitude, the A-10A makes this so ridiculous that a new style has to be adopted involving GAU-8 head-ons and rudder-assisted turns. In fact it's a style I'd say is a little like the real thing minus the GAU-8 shenanigans(more AIM-9 involved there). It's charming in that way, and charm earns one a spot in the top 10. 1. F-5E (AC X). I consider this to be the AE86 of that game. It's light, it's got ok acceleration and ok turn rate, but also has not much ammo. Due to Stockholm syndrome this plane easily became my favorite RL plane in all of AC. It's just so well-rounded that I can't get mad at it and find it to be a great training tool for other planes. Mastering the F-5 means mastering the game in a sense.
DANIEL PRADO F35 is made for long range and stealth capabilities yeah short range dogfight it can’t even win against a F16 but it’s built for multi role against ground units and long range air units it can detect a SU 35 80-90 miles away but can’t beat it up close

As for nonfiction aircraft, here's my top 10, first half bombers and ground attack craft, and second half multirole fighters. 10. B-1 Lancer Bomber 9. F-117 Nighthawk 8. Tornado GR series attackers 7. A-10 Warthog 6. B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber 5. F-15E Strike Eagle 4. F-16 Fighting Falcon 3. F/A-18E Super Hornet 2. F-14A Tomcat 1. F-22 Raptor I love the Tomcat just as much as you do, but as for mission survivability and performance in the field, the Raptor is the best choice. Also it's easy to fly and its weapons can be concealed internally without the risk of detection from enemy radar.

@02091992able4 жыл бұрын
Says F-22 Raptor is expensive as fck but then mentions the B2 Spirit. A B2 Spirit cost billions in cost to purchase and maintaince per aircraft. But this is the price to pay for a bomber that can strike nearly anywhere in the world and be unseen until its too late. Pilots have to be screened extensively before they are even let near the aircraft. One B2 carries teh bomb load that 80 years ago would take a squadron of bombers to carry the same bomb load.
