I've only tried new batches of Layton and Carlisle, so I have no point of reference in regards to projection and longevity, but I ended up buying and later returning them recently because no one could smell the scents on me after a little over an hour (bought from a dept store btw.)-- unlike all reviews made from two or so years ago rave about how they're both beast mode longevity,. I didn't know about the reformulations until after, but I can only assume the 82% bottles I got have been downgraded from older batches. I don't have the time to look for original bottles, so PDM ultimately lost a customer as quickly as it gained one. Sucks bc both fragrances smell amazing.

I can only truly comment on one's I have in my collection. My order (very tough, I live them all!) 1 Layton 2 Carlisle 3 Herod 4 Pegasus Exclusive 5 Habdan (massively slept on) Tried many others at the PDM store in Covent Garden. Sedley is lovely, perhaps performance is only thing holding me from hitting the trigger.

Pegasus is my favourite. It's just stunning in cooler weather. I am so over Layton. I have had it so long - 7 years - that it has completely lost it's allure. I'm going to remove it from my rotation for a couple years to see if absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Good list. I don't know why but this video reminds me of Carlos, he called it on Carlisle back in the day and made me buy it. I actually LOVE Galloway for the summer it is not a typical freshie. The musk in the dry down is so good and last ages. Like Percival and Layton too. Personally I like PDM Spring to Autumn and Amouage Royal Tobacco and Jubilation in winter. Funny how PDM was more a winter house and for me became the summer house.

I dont get it why Haltane is still compared to OFG? In the opening they have some resemblances but they last a few seconds. After the opening they are completely different. Haltane is all about praline and Bergamotte and smells delicious and masculine, while OFG is safran, nutmeg and oud. I love Haltane and its my most worn scent. I use it in Spring, fall and winter, while OFG is only wearable in cold winterdays.

Pegasus Exclisiff is amazing for the office… it’s also currently at costco online for $249. Haltane is absolute beast mode. Layton is great too… But the one that gets me the most compliments from my wife is Carlisle. That is a great date night frag! Personally I bought two different bottles of Herod, and the sillage and longevity were terrible. If you want clean and professional go with Pegasus exclusiff, if you want woody beast mode go Haltane, if you want to have sex go with Carlisle :)

Just purchased a 4.2oz bottle of Herod. In the new box 😢design. Smells the same as my decant from awhile back but 4-5 sprays n it becomes a skin scent within 1hr. Very disappointing. I should’ve listen to the negative hype on reformulation…

Thank god perseus (also a terre d'hermes dupe) ended up being solid at least projects 10 + hours

Vallaya is far better for women. Perseus is very annoying to my nostrils despite my efforts. I wore it 4 times. Althair is cute but nothing more. Percival very nice easy going, finished my second bottle, but with no character. Easily it could have been any designer brand. Layton you understand the hype around it when it came out but a bit outdated. Haltane is far the best of Marly that anyone can pull out. Lastly, and as strange it may sound to a lot of viewers, Kalan is one I encourage people to try out (sampling always b4 buy). Beware before engaging in purchases that a lot of winterMarly perfums not mentioned above are quite nice but you will seldom use .
