I don't think it's weird, but that's just me...I saw Sora's reveal trailer in my dreams a couple nights before his actual reveal...it was like deja vu, but in the best way possible as Sora was my most wanted character 😅 Dreams are really strange things, aren't they...?

I think it's funny how for me personally, Pyra and Mythra got me screaming with excitement, but Sephiroth's ended up being my favorite reveal. I think it's cool how Sephiorth's trailer played out. They showed you that someone ONE SHOT Galeem, made you wonder who is powerful enough to do that, then play his THEME and then show Cloud realizing that it's Sephiroth BEFORE showing Sephiroth himself. It sort of goes to show how powerful of a song "one winged angel" is. It's kind of like how people reacted to Sans. They didn't scream because of sans... they screamed because of MEGALOVANIA

Kingdom Hearts has been a big part of my life since I was a child, and so has Smash. When Sora came out with the magical theme music from KH, flying around with all the other characters marveling, and the handshake at the end, I'm not ashamed to say I legit cried.

Personal mention to Terry's Reveal trailer. Sakurai himself is a BIG fighting game nerd and so referencing a lot of SNK's history with a lot of characters and some clever references (Albeit, some I don't quite recognize myself) was amazing. It's also pretty funny to see all of these potential fighters just trying to grab the letter, only for it to be grabbed by Terry when the invitation finally settles. As for some other trailers, (Mind you not all of these are my favorites, just thought I'd mention them) Banjo's was VERY clever with it calling back to K. Rools reveal, Greninja's was a lot of fun IMO, with it also being the ACTUAL reveal of what Frokey's final evolution was. (also that final smash at the end cemented them as my favorite mon.) Bayo's had very similar banter to that of the Palutana reveal (Though I can see why it wasn't here, being only gameplay) Isabell's with it faking out and then also being an Animal Crossing reveal, Joker for his animation style, as well as the banter between some of the Phantom Theves, and what most likely was a lot of people's introduction to Persona And finally Steven. I still laugh when I watch this over the absurdity of this actually happening

Agreed. I'm quite disappointed he didn't at least make Terry an honorable mention. I've barely even heard of the Neo Geo and knew nothing about those fighting games and I still loved the animation style and their struggle to get the invitation.

I was really into DKC and Banjo Kazooie when Smash Ultimate was still relevant and I was so ecstatic to see King K. Rool and especially Banjo and Kazooie join the roster. K. Rool especially since it came with that amazing remix of Gangplank Galleon. Heck my older brother was into Mega Man so for him, seeing the Blue Bomber revealed for Smash was a dream come true for him.

I still remember this day, October 5, 2021. I was up early while my Grandma was asleep. This was months after I graduated and I wasn't employed yet. I saw the notification of the final Smash Trailer. I tuned in and watch. And let me tell, that was an amazing moment. When Mario threw the keyblade, I didn't know what this meant, until the Keyblade's shape and the Keychain appeared, and my hype thrusters went into orbit and out of the galaxy! Sora was my requested fighter for Smash for Ultimate and I'm so glad that he was the final character to end Smash Ultimate on. Thank you Sakurai for making this, my favorite moment in gaming. #ThankyouSakurai

I was in class when the trailer was going on and me and two other guys were watching the trailer live and when Ken was shown my eyes went wide. But the other two guys just lost their shit! They jumped up screaming and ran out the classroom to tell their other friend in another class

It all starts with the clock on big ben chiming at night. The camera zooms out to reveal the city below. Down at the city, the Ice Climbers are seen hopping across the rooftops. Behind them comes Banjo-Kazoo shooting eggs at the other Duo. Up in the stars, Rosalina and Luma summon a sling star aimed at the fighting pairs. They climbed in the star, and shoot down to the city. As The Ice Climbers are swinging their hammers at Banjo-Kazooie, Rosalina & Luma came crashing down without warning, sending both the pairs flying over the town. The four crashed landed at an empty alleyway. As they all come to, they noticed a strange theater all lit up in front of them. Ever curious, Ice Climbers and Banjo-Kazooie opened the doors and peeked inside. The Entrance Hall is full of curtains and mirrors. Banjo-Kazooie noticed something on the floor and the Ice Climbers looked down too. It was a lone Tim. The Tim waddles down the hall, with the Main Four following it ever so curiously. The little Tim squeezed through a partially opened pair of doors. With Ice Climbers’ hammers, and Banjo-Kazooie’s strength, they burst through the doors and entered a stage room. Suddenly they heard a laugh. They look up and see a strange shadow upstage. The silhouette is shown holding a SBB Invitation, and grins so widely. The spotlight shines on the mysterious figure to reveal Balan doing a pose. He snaps his fingers to make the curtains open up behind him, revealing a whole group of Tims. Balan Spins and smiles at the camera: BALAN TAKES CENTER STAGE! He then flies around the astounded Ice Climbers and Banjo-Kazooie, making them a little dizzy, and makes a “Bring it on” hand gesture to them. With the “It’s Showtime” theme playing in the background, the scene then shifts to various gameplay of Balan performing his moves on other fighters. Moves such as popping out Tims, flying loop-de-loops, shooting out balls of light, and performing acrobatic kicks. The scene then shifts to back outside the theater, where Rosalina and Luma arrived after tracking the other fighters here. The Ice Climbers and Banjo-Kazooie burst out the doors with Balan showing up front and center. Just when they prepare to take on Luma Queen, they suddenly heard a strange flute playing “Nights Nights”. They look around to find where that music was coming from, and Luma points up for everyone to look up as well. The camera shifts up to reveal another strange figure standing on top of Balan’s theater in front of the shining moonlight. As the Silhouette continues playing on their pretend flute, everyone was amazed and confused, except for Balan, who smiles and nods, knowing exactly who that could be. The camera zooms in at the figure to reveal NiGHTS, who flies in a loop-de-loop, and shows up facing the camera: NiGHTS HAS AWAKENED! NiGHTS floats down to the group, facing Balan with a friendly rival-like gesture, and Balan is delighted to see his friend here. Nights looks at Rosalina beside them, and prepares to fight alongside the Luma Queen. The Background music then plays the “Journey of Dreams” theme as the scene shifts to gameplay shots of NiGHTS performing their own moves at the other fighters. Moves include flying in Loop-de-loops, spinning, morphing into a boat or a roller coaster car, and summoning Dreamtopians with their flute. The scene then shifts back to NiGHTS and Balan, who are floating and dancing with each other before ending in their signature bows. My top 10 super smash bros fighters 10 Luminary - I love Dragon Quest series with the rest of the 3 Erdrick Solo and Eight 8️⃣ with down b of Magic Burst Flame Slash Zoom Thwack KaCrackle Slash 9 Rosalina - I know a lot of fans never like Rosalina in smash but I disagree because her move set with the Luma is very defensive and her grand star final smash can trap without escape 8 Sonic - I love Sonic in smash ultimate even if he is the only Sonic character I love super fast characters and super Sonic sent player to KO upward 7. Peach - I am a big fan of Peach with blonde hair and pink dress with peach blossom to sleep 6. Zelda - I love her move set of reflector and Phantom Slash to teleport upward and final smash is Triforce of Wisdom to KO at 100 💯 5. Greninja - Greninja is my favorite water 💧 type Pokémon from Kalos I love control the shadow sneak and hydro pump upwards and secret Ash Greninja attack with mat block to see the moon 🌕 4. I wasn't chatting online with people back then so I actually first played Brawl BEFORE I learned that he was in it. 8. Didn't expect that you hadn't played much of his series. Then again I haven't played much outside of his main series 7. I'm glad she got in, especially since some moron lied to us all that they had a leaked screenshot of Palutena being in Smash, so I would have been really mad at that for being false advertising, so thank goodness she was in the game for real. 6. Though it was weird that Banjo's trailer ripped it off. 3. His trailer was also really cool. Though I do kinda wish we got a character from the other FF games. That being said Sephiroth was still a great choice. 2. I was really mad when the trailer dropped, because they deceived us into thinking it was a trailer for a new fighter, only for it to be a trailer for someone we already have! It would have been much more awesome if they had at least told us that it was a fighter we already knew about before showing the trailer. Honorable mentions: I hadn't been watching the trailers live yet at the time Rosalina's trailer dropped so I knew it was her. Shulk's trailer was also very inspiring. Ridley's trailer was also really cool, but I didn't like Joker's trailer because of all the red which is really hard on the eyes. And Banjo's trailer was also nice, but as stated before, it's a ripoff of King K. Rool's trailer. And Min-Min's trailer is making me a BIT more interested in Arms (though I still haven't decided to play it yet) And in the Steve trailer when it started with gameplay, I was worried it would take the lazy way out and be nothing but gameplay like with the DLC trailers from SSB4, so I'm glad it wasn't. 1. Yup, of course it would be #1. BTW I forgot that there were other characters in that artstyle. And I forgot that the length was faulty. Good list! BTW this list makes me even more excited for Smash 6 and to see what trailers that'll have! It makes me want it to be announced already, but at the same time I understand it's for the best that Sakurai gets a break.

trying to remember where i was for all the Ultimate trailers Intial teaser: was in the hospital (outpatient) for medical reasons and it was during my "non nintendo" Phase. I had accidentally broke my 3ds and My parents couldn't afford the switch so i started playing Roblox and was contempt but hearing that Smash was coming back piqued my interest again Everyone is Here: in my lunch period in highschool freshman year. I pretty much watched it myself and freaked out. I told my friend and inadvertently spoiled it. tbh i thought he would've watched it since he's always watching something Ridley: after Lunch in my Latin Period. my friends were dumbfounded by me. then the release date and i nearly passed out bcus it was on my 16th birthday Chrom/Dark Samus/ Simon/Richter/K.Rool: I woke up after the presentation and told my sister about it. i believe we were on a break from school or someting Isabelle: I honestly can't remember but i remeber going. Ok that's cool Ken/Incineroar/Piranha Plant: Gym Class. I said "Swweeeetttt" for Ken. didn't knew Incin but the pokemon motif made me go ah ok. Plant. laughed at Waluigi Joker: like many. I didn't watch the game awards but I watched it and the internet losing it's mind made me excited for his official gameplay trailer. and it made me want to play Persona 5. Hero/Terry/Banjo. Lunch time again but this time with friends in my sophomre year I didnt really react to Hero but my friends filled me in. I was more excited that Akira Toriyama's Art Design was in the game through Dragon Quest. Terry was cool, I only vaguely heard about KOF through Flash Games or MUGEN. Banjo. we went insane for it and then i nearly passed out again at the TOTK Teaser Byleth: Early in the morning. I got to school and my locker. i think this was juinor year of HS. I pull out my phone. saw Solon and had the biggest shit eating Grin. I played 3 Houses all summer and I was excited. in the back of my mind i feared they would add the protags from Fire Emblem Echoes which was a game i didnt play Min Min. I was in my house cus Pandemic. and I was really kinda just meh throughout since I didnt reallt care for ARMS when i did play it Steve: woke up for online classes in my senior year. I looked at this thumbnail and was severly disappointed. Overall Steve is fun to play as so I'm over it Sephiroth: I did watch the game awards and was excited. but my fuse blew and i had to watch it on my phone. it was still fucking awesome Pyra/Mythra it was online school still but I thought it was sweet Xenboblade fans got more reps Kazuya: Called my friend IMMEDIATELY and we were both esctatic Sora: Morning Class Freshman year of College. Okay, time to do the KZbin comment rant(TM). While I'm glad Sora was on this list, and I understand that it's your list and I don't have any say in it, Sora will always be #1 for me. Ever since I got into Kingdom Hearts (which was between 2.8 and kh3 if I remember correctly, so sometime around 2018?), I was on the Sora in Smash copium. Every new character, every trailer, and every dlc fighter came and went, and there was no sign of the Keyblade Wielder. On the day of the final dlc announcement, I was in the car and made sure that I wasn't driving so I could watch the reveal. Even after Sephiroth had been announced, there was a small glimmer of hope within my heart that Sora would be given that chance to stand with the gaming legends. Then, Mario reached into the flames, and threw them. Even before the reveal of the Kingdom Key's Keychain, I was able to see the Keyblade's form wreathed in the flames... and I popped off. Even if I haven't been a fan since 2002, my loyalty to KH burned brightly, so seeing Sora fly about the place, pixie dust trailing from him... hearing the orchestral version of Simple and Clean... and seeing him shake hands with Mario himself... I don't think I'll ever be more hyped at a Smash Bros. character reveal.

My personal fave is still Joker's for reasons obvious to anyone who's talked about RPGs at all with me. Persona is my favorite franchise & I didn't give a single crap about the Game Awards at the time. Hell I didn't realize it was happening. So what was I doing? Streaming the Persona rhythm games that had just come out 2 days prior (I was streaming each of the 3 games one day at a time). So I'm just sitting there about to play the super chill test taking song when my friend Shadow DMs me "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA", I play the song after replying with "you okay there?", then look back at my now exploding DMs before exploding myself because HOLY FUCK JOKER IS IN SMASH WHAT THE HELL *cue ending the stream to freak out in voice chat*

Am sad that I cannot agree with you for places #3 and #1, And my reasoning is the next one: Sephiroth, Pyra/Mythra and Byleth shouldn't have wasted a DLC slot. DLC should be only for characters whose franchises have no representation in Smash, or at least no Fighters at all. Franchises that had at least one character in should have waited till the next game.

Love the K Rool and Aegis trailers, but I personally think Sephiroth’s is the best in terms of the internet’s reaction. The complete lack of FF content in Smash made people think SE was doing the bare minimum to allow Cloud in Ultimate. Then that trailer dropped and everyone lost it.

I gotta admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of XC2 because playing it was total hell (thanks a lot, stupid tutorial being useless), but Pyra/Mythra was one of the few things I loved about the game. So even I was excited to see them in Smash. My personal favorite was Banjo-Kazooie, since that was the one realistic prediction I had for newcomers to get on the roster. And boy, that trailer was a masterclass in bringing a retro character back into the limelight. Other reveals I personally loved: Kazuya (I've dabbled in Tekken enough to know who he was and he's my favorite fighting character to get in the roster) Byleth (yep, still in the minority about that inclusion and I don't care! Still love that the one Fire Emblem character I knew about got in) Terry (even though I don't play him much, that trailer was still cool seeing many of the other King of Fighters characters trying to get that invitation) Joker (I got the game that night during the Game Awards since I knew my brother, who was already big into P5 by that time, would love to play as him) Ridley AND Sephiroth (Showing how dangerous they can be) Sonic (That was the BIGGEST thing that happened during Brawl's news cycle, IMO. Snake was also a huge surprise, but nothing beat Sonic getting revealed, it was surreal) And EVERYONE IS HERE! (How can you not love it? That alone showed Ultimate was going to be the biggest love letter to the series and the largest gaming crossover in the gaming space)

ngl I initially disliked the cloud reveal trailer since at that point in time I was under the impression that only characters who had a mainline game on a Nintendo system were going to be in the game. That and I would've preferred and still would rather have had a character from the classic FFs like a Dragoon or a Black Mage.

At the time that Soras trailer came out, I was at my peak of my Dark Souls addiction. So when his trailer started with the darkness and the lone flame. I lost it thinking somehow a dark souls character got it then it was Sora. Hes cool dont get me wrong, just I was and still am super salty how the trailer started

The Min Min reveal will always be my favorite. I love the super impressive comic book art style they went with. And I personally really loved ARMS. So seeing this game and it’s characters in the spotlight again was something I will cherish. I hope Min Min stays in Smash and I hope we get a new ARMS game in the future.

I remember the day when Pyra and Mythra were revealed. My friend called 30 mins before the stream and I told him what I wanted most was Rex and Pyra in Smash. When the direct started, that was the first thing shown and I flipped. Only thing that would have made it better was Shulk getting his Future Connected costume as an alt Edit: I also remember the Sephiroth reveal. I had told my mom and sibling about it and my mom came in from making supper to watch with me! I was freaking out that Sephiroth got revealed and my mom didn’t get the hype but was happy for me. And then my sibling made a cake for the game awards for me that looked like a switch with the game awards logo in the middle

I think my favorites would be the Smash reveal trailer (the one with Inkling), and the Sora reveal, both of which mainly because of a couple of reactors' reactions, the former being Arlo, who let out a huge "WHOOOOOOAAAAAAAAA!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAA!!!" as soon as the Smash logo appeared in the Inkling's eye, and the latter being joshscorcher, who just gave the happiest "IT'S SORA!!! IT'S SORA!!! IT'S SORA!!!" I can't ever forget those reactions! Special mention to Isabella's reveal, which starts off with what looks like a trailer for an Animal Crossing game, only for Isabella to get her mail and suddenly poses for the reveal that she's in Smash! Not only is this a clever bait and switch, but it also gave Arlo his second best reaction-- Arlo: Oh, is this a new Animal Crossing? Isabella: I've been invited to Smash Brothers!? Arlo: WHOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Man, seeing the Min Min reveal among the honorable mentions is giving me figurative goosebumps all over again. I think that ARMS remix along with the artstyle and choreography is what really sells it. The ARMS Grand Prix Official Theme Song is already great as it is (which is a given since it's the same team of Mario Kart 8) and pretty much a definition of hype, but the Smash remix for it (by the same composer, too) multiplies that hype tenfold, and REALLY gets me pumped up! It also helps that Min Min is my favorite character from that game, too, and thus one of my most wanted for Smash. The Banjo-Kazooie one also gets props, for not only being an amazing retread to the K. Rool trailer in the best way it can be, but also for the amazing Smash remix of Spiral Mountain, that similarly was done by the same composer as the original Spiral Mountain, good ol' Grant Kirkhope (who got approached while he was working on the Mario + Rabbids soundtrack). It got me emotional for a franchise I personally haven't played outside of emulation (and it wasn't that much either). Since it started the same way as the K. Rool trailer, with the villain lineup and DK turning off the TV, I actually almost thought they were gonna reveal another DK villain, Lord Fredrik from Tropical Freeze... until that darned Jiggy showed up. Speaking of the K. Rool trailer, that Smash Direct was happening while I was on vacation in Paris.

My personal favorite reveal is steve, I wanted him since elementary school, so seeing my childhood dream come true was one of my favorite moments in gaming for me, even though he's relatively disliked by the community these days due to the competitive scene, I'm hopeful he returns for at least one more smash game, if there is one, which I think it's likely due to Nintendo and Microsoft being on good terms.

I think the biggest reasons I got into many franchises is because of their reveal trailers. Five examples I can think of are Castlevania, Xenoblade, SNK, Persona, and Metroid. The music helps too.

I think my favorire is tied between Mega Man and Sephiroth. Mega Man's was such a perfect love letter to the fans from how his introduction references the opening to MM2 to all the weapons he showed off, and that banging remix of the iconic Wily Castle theme. It gets me in such a hyper mood. Sephiroth though was a mind-blower. Having him literally cleave the main antagonist of World of Light in half before One Winged Angel starts playing, and you know just how powerful this guy is. I also love how the whole trailer just stops being about Smash Bros and ends up just looking like a scene from Advent Children with him and Cloud clashing swords.

For me, my fav is the last one because I am a diehard KH fan and I did wonder if it was impossible because it is Disney. I heard though that Disney was on board right away, they just had to convince Square lol. Sora's reveal gave me my biggest reaction. All I can say is, thank God my parents weren't home because I was yelling so hard (one of the rare few times I wish I could record a reaction). My brother was also watching the reveal in his room and he opened my door laughing at me asking if I was happy lol. I think he was hoping for Chief from Halo. Yes I did vote for Sora in that big voting thing years ago too. The only other char I had a big reaction to was Joker because it really came out of nowhere for me so I'd rank it #2. It's funny because I never played a Persona game (nor do I ever plan on playing any). It's funny because when I watched reactions to the Joker reveal, a lot of reactors were singing, "I never saw it coming." lol. Great video Chaos! You'll probably hope that someone from XB3 will be in the next Smash game (whenever that comes out).

My favorite was Terry. I only faintly heard of the Neo Geo and never heard of the fighting games shown, but I loved how the different fighters struggled to get the invitation and it was done in classic fighting game animation. Why did you not at least make it an honorable mention?

I mean, it’s a great trailer. Very unique, but the simple reality is I don’t have a history or connection with the Neo Geo or SNK properties. As such, it didn’t hit me as hard as other trailers.

I when I saw the Steve reveal, I genuinely thought I had gone insane. Steve was a character that I unironically wanted as a life long Minecraft fan but the idea was just so absurd I figured it would be impossible. God bless you Sakurai, you mad genius.
