Today we're looking at the best 10 fly halves in world rugby today. This is a tough call as there's so many amazing 10's playing in the game today. Do you agree with my selections? Let me know who you think I've missed out in the comments! I'll see ya there!

How is Pollard only 5? Isn't he like the biggest reason the springboks won the world cup? Fucken hell why can't us northerners just see the truth and appreciate the game!

Pollard is the definition of a clutch player. Would still not rate him better than Mo'unga, but definitely better than Farell in 2023

Though I'd agree that Pollard would be higher in my list (2), I don't think you have to win a RWC to be the best at your post. Or are you saying that Vermeulen or Wiese is better than Savea ? That De Klerk is better than Dupont ? Mo'unga is definitely the best 10 now, but he has no WC trophy on his shelf.

​@@rugbybuzz Taking 2023 as a reference 1. Richie Mo'unga (most line breaks of 2023, and amazing performance in the World Cup) 2. Ntamack (one less line break than Mo'unga...with half the year injured) 3. Pollard (because ice in his veins) 4. Russell (Though quite the attacker, he's lacking the end-game management and consistency of the other 3) 5. Manie Libbok 'cause his attacking skills are superb 6. Ramos (sorry, but if you want a 10 that can set chaos in opposing lines, he's your guy) 7. McKenzie 8. Marcus Smith 9. Jalibert 10. Ford To be frank, the top 3 could be swapped any time, it's a very close match. I've put Pollard back because although he's made SA win 3 times, it was not the main reason of those victories. Just being ice cold and good in front of the post does not make you a excellent 10. Also, SA did not win because Pollard : they won because Etzebeth, Marx, Ox, Mbonambi, Arendse, Kolbe...Rassie (ffs that guy is a wizard). They did not "crush" everyone, they outplayed and outsmarted everyone, and for this, they are the well deserved RWC champions IMO. Owen Farell was just not that last year, sincerely hope that he'll come back to his top this year.

Depends on the game. If it’s a WC playoff every coach in the world would take Pollard and anyone who says otherwise needs their head examined.

Comparing Pollard to this list is an insult if he is not at Nr 1. Muanga Crumbled under pressure in the final, Ferrall is a yellow card away from being a liability, Finn das nullified during the RWC and Scotland went down because their game was planned around Finns game only. Pollard is more than a kicker, because he structures defence while at the same time looking to exploit opportunities to break opposition defence

​@@nicogoliath4902 yeah, he out ran De Allende and Damian were left isolated against both Richie to whom De Allende couldn't catch up with and Mark Telea'a and Aaron Smith were also a supporting runner. Springboks love leaving one player to defend against 2 or 3.

Jalibert couldn't get pass Libbok in the quarter finals but he left Pollard chasing shadows in the second half though coming fresh from the bench.

While you would be grateful to have any of the top five in your team, which one you choose, I think, comes down to how you want your team to play, and probably who you have playing around them. I would put Pollard and Mo'unga as the top 2.

Its not easy to pick the order but agree hands-down Richie Mo'unga and Finn Russel are exceptional fly-halves. As a South African , myself and many others generally don't have a bias towards individual player rankings. Our team plays as a unit and they are measured against how well the fit into their positions. Anyways, thanks for the vid!

Not a bad list, although in my list Manie Libbok is at least top 5, and Sacha Feinberg-Mgomezulu will be on the list soon. He is yet to play for the Springboks, as is Siya Masuku, but two exciting prospects to watch. I get the feeling that a good portion of the list makes it on reputation alone and not on recent form.

Pollard is more constrained by a game plan than the rest. Would look a lot more impressive if he played for NZ. Beauden Barret would be my dream team 10. I was so thankful when they moved him to 15.

The most exciting flyhalfs or the ones with the highest ceiling inho is Jack Crowley & Finn Smith with a few young french flyhalfs in the making. The game is going to get very exciting when they mature.

Finn Smith - wowza…Farrell 2.0 with more flair! He has everything imo! I hope he’ll be starting for England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (I’ve fallen out of love with M.Smith a little…against the big boys he’s out of his depth imo) Crowley is only going to get better…huge shoes to fill but it’s his time and he’s so confident 👌🏻 Issues for Ireland if he picks up an injury? I think theres a gulf in quality between Crowley and their other fly halves…one position Ireland aren’t STACKED with talent…Exciting times ahead!!!

I agree with your list although its very difficult to rank the numbers, i would have russel higher, russel would be no 1 if he had a stronger team. Pollard is a 3 for sure, yeah he doest break line like he used to but he is a freakin general with decision making and keeping cool as ice under pressure and that is most important if a flyhalf has a great team. Glad you got farrel there, he needs more credit 🇿🇦

@@rugbybuzz Farrel reminds me of Butch James, he was also one of my favorites that got dissed alot, cool as a cucumber with a VERY cocky attitude, he didnt give two shits if he made a mistake, hard as nails, dirty as the old rugby players but most importantly a fkn rock solid 10 that causes havoc to the other side and is a brilliant kicker
