Deep Sea Adventure will always be remembered as the game we played over Zoom during the pandemic. I was known as the player who not only risked it all by going for those deeper treasures, but also talked other players into joining me: "We have plenty of oxygen. Don't worry about it!" (Spoiler: It never ends well.)

Sparkle Kitty and Sparkle Kitty Knights are word card games that are totally about fun and laughter, with minimal strategy. In theme and enjoyment, I think they're a step up from Uno.

I just got Thunder Road Vendetta today. I'm planning on playing it tonight. Other super fun games I'd recommend are: Clank! Catacombs, Camel Up, King of Tokyo, and 5 Minute Dungeon.

Not relevant to the episode's topic, but: Some friends introduced me earlier this week to a game called Torres (which I hadn't heard of before). As proponents of Santorini, I thought I should make sure you guys know of this game. It uses similar mechanics of building and climbing towers. It's quite different in feel, though. Rather than trying to outmaneuver one or two opponents in reaching a win condition, you are trying to extract the most points. The way that multiple players can score off the same castle, but that they are not all equally rewarded for it, reminds me of Acquire. I had a great time and was well rewarded for ushering my friend's game to the table rather than pushing for one from my collection.

5 Minute Dungeon is a fun quick co-op game especially with the free timer app that adds some more personality to it.💜

Galaxy Trucker. The best insane fun I have had in board games. The rapid scramble to piece together the worst ship ever and then run it through the gauntlet and half the time end up dead in the water.

Agree on Deep Sea Adventure and That's not a hat. I also like Roll For It and Zombie Dice for a quick warm-up before a longer game, or a palate cleanser.

Great list! Can't Stop is fire. Love Fireball Island! I also like Quacks, Ready Set Bet, Colt Express, and Mechs vs Minions for this type of list.

I have been summoned! There definitely is strategy to Strike! You even mentioned some of the strategy as you talked about it - "the answer is to keep rolling dice"!! Strategy and fun aren't mutually exclusive, and Strike is the epitome of a game that demonstrates that! 😝

For a quick teach, fast play, and enough meaningful decisions that better players have a legitimately better chance to win, I really like 6 Nimmt! I'll also recommend James Ernest's "Falling", which is a real-time game with a silly theme that can be played in less than 10 minutes. It depends on having a dealer who understands the cards and their interactions (but there are only a few types of cards), and it gets pretty crazy.

Have you tried the chicken dice game? It's a short push your luck game, plays 2-8 players I think, and only takes maybe 10 minutes, but very fun!

Good list, but I would urge you to check out these 2 inexpensive games that are fun oriented games if you haven't tried them. 1. Inn Fighting, a D&D dice chucking game where players have characters and side kicks each with individual abilities to punch, kick and use their special powers to be the last man standing in a all out bar fight. It even has a blank card for you to make your own character. It's a blast. Also, Flux, which has different variants of the game to which, Monty Python Flux is ridiculously fun.

Interesting pick with Rush MD. Never played it but I thought it has some kinship with Kitchen Rush. I love Kitchen Rush, but it feels a lot of work to eke out profit (after paying your people). It almost feels like Agricola in that sense. And while it's fun, it's not light. If Rush MD is lighter, I'm intrigued.

The reason why we like Rush M.D more than Kitchen Rush is because even though there is actually more going on in the game, the game is easier to win. So it doesn’t feel like you have no hope like you do in kitchen rush. We found kitchen brush to be just too hard.
