I've got 2 glofish tetras left from my original school, tank became semi community as my "bully male guppies" would be placed in there. Originally had a small school of neon tetras also, alas failed them while hunting research and being able to eyeball when someone in a tank is off. Had a horrible adult ADHD moment during a water change, cried my butt off while trying to fix, lost each male guppy fortunately only 5 were in there presently. Those glofish tetras not only survived, showed no signs of potentially passing away and were swimming happily like nothing happened. Ok titanium fish I see you.

Among the 10 I've tried 5 (Tiger Barb, Gourami, Black Neon tetra, White Cloud Mountain Minnow and Galaxy Rasbora. I would say the toughest would be the Gourami. Though not mentioned the khuli loach in my experience wins overall. On the sidenote the Pearl Gourami is the most non aggressive community fish I've seen.

White Cloud Mountain Minnows -- trust me THEY WILL NOT DIE. I've recently had an aquarium tank mishap and had no choice but to keep all my fish in a tiny makeshift plastic container. What was meant to be a temporary stay turned out to be a month-long captivity in a water with ammonialevels off the charts, literally. I lost all two of my roseline barbs, 7 out of 10 Amano shrimps. Not one of my WCMM perished during this ordeal.

Oh man, never ungrateful for your videos, my budget wallet on the other hand... 😂 I've been eyeing white clouds, and black tetras every time i check out the fish at the store. Mentioned in a livestream (the comments go so fast though) i felt as I've adulted a bit in the hobby, i have a school of 8 zebra danios, and working on finding more glofish corycats, currently I have five. Wishing i hadn't picked the harder to find and more expensive ones 🙄 Took advantage of the petco sale again before it ended and got more rocks and driftwood. Total went from $75ish down to 31.00! Frugal to the core! Will be setting up a 20 long and the 39G i scooped up as well. ❤always appreciative that i know our waters unless towns are messing with the waters are the same. It's been so helpful with my slow expansion of this hobby. * THOSE GREEN RASBORAS!!! MY HEART. Hi Jason! Thank you for another interesting video. I love the videos of your fish. I have just 4 galaxy rasbora and they are very outgoing. I also have chili rasbora and they do well. The fish I had who lived the longest were two (aggressive bratty) angelfish. 9 and 11 years each. They've been gone for a while, so I turned that tank into a nano fish tank. I do have cory cats, 2 honeys and 2 furcata rainbows in the tank along with the fish I mentioned above. Everyone gets along fine. I love your channel!

I vote with both my hands for the gouramis. I had a series of disasters prior to a long trip (cats pushed the automatic feeder in the tank), my ad hoc setup was unideal and I came back to a BLACK water tank of carnage. But amongst the corpses ALL THREE of my opaline (blue and red) gouramis were alive and well. They are still alive today and as happy and healthy as ever.

Jason, What a great list you put out. I don't know if I agree with the kribensis. I bought one and it didn't last a week in my 20 gal. Not sure what happened to him. I do agree with the black skirted tetras those fish are insane hardy. I think the harlequin rasbora is pretty tough. My green severum is a tank though he survived some mistakes I made with my African cichlids. I did get some peacock grudeons in and those two are very pretty and little fish.

Pangio khulii are great bottom dwellers... tho you really need a bigger group and some floating plants or at least some big leaf plants to cast shadow to the bottom... bright tanks arent their favorite. Black skirt tetras are one of my favorite fish, love their look and they're super duper hardy, especially compared to other tetras. I definitely have considered trying them once I have a nice big tank for them, but I also thought about tiger barbs because of their gorgeous pattern and bad rep I feel like a lot of these fish are really underrated too, like everyone talks about neons and cardinals but not the black neon, or rams and apistogramma but not kribensis, and in my research I never find white cloud minnows being recommended as beginner-slash-community fish as often as they probably should be

Still like my Platies, but after many years of keeping them, a few seem to have a tendency to develop a swim bladder issue. They hardly ever get Ich or any fungal or bacterial infections, at least from my experience. The one thing that puzzles me is sometimes they are super friendly and then out of nowhere, with not one thing changing, they act terrified..lol!

Hi Jason - I started my first aquarium last month (Mar 12) and after four weeks it looks like the nitrogen cycle has been setup. Water parameters looks good and my pH is around 7.6. My tank is 23g fluval vista, I am envisioning to keep Cherry Barb (6-7) to start with and then add some corycats (5-6) and after some stabilization will add Neon Tetra (10-12). Let me know if my plan looks ok. How to reduce and stabilize my pH? My tap water pH is around 7.8 in Maryland. BTW I got inspired to keep aquarium after watching your beginners series. 😊

Jack Dempsey cichlids hands down. When I was a teenager my family went to Rhode Island for a week to visit my grandmother. Well there was a power outage and the lady watching our house and feeding my fish didn't know how to get the hob filter restarted. And she kept feeding the fish. Needless to say out of all my fish which were a firemouth, a convict, a cigar fish, a pleco, 4 mbuna, and 2 Jack Dempseys, the Jacks were the only ones that survived that mess. They were tough old fish.

If they're clamped up tight then they're still alive, it's when they hang out limp and lifeless that they're dead From what I've heard nerite snails can be a bit tricky, likely they're just stressed from the move or the water conditions. Nerites tend to be prefer high ph and water hardness, I believe
