Joshua Anderson The Canes have a top 10 defense, you don’t watch hockey at all. They allowed the least shots against this season and were in the bottom 10 of goals against. Slavin has a WAR of 2.6 and Hamilton has a WAR of 5.1 which is the most out of any NHL defenseman. The Canes defense combined is a 10 WAR which is the most out of any NHL team. Pesce had a down year this season while Fleury broke out and became a legit 2nd pair defenseman, he had a WAR of 2.1.
