One of the most inspiring stories is that of Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa. He originally came to the United States illegally when he was 19. He worked several jobs, including one where he almost died. He saved up his money and took English lessons and eventually got to medical school. Now he is one of the top Neurosurgeons at Johns Hopkins Hospital

My parents came from Mexico legally and no they were not rich my dad came to America with 5 other siblings when he was young and my mom came with some relatives when she was a teenager we know a good amount of people that are illegal some are even related to us but we still think that immigrants should be vetted properly and have background checks done especially in a war torn country that is an enemy to America I greatly respect people who came here illegally worked hard and eventually became citizens. P.S. How the fuck is Scarface an inspiring immigration movie?

Best part is, no matter how many haters show their asses in the comment section, whenever this kind of video highlighting the importance of diversity and forward thinking comes out, there'll always be more likes than dislikes, even if it's by a small margin. It's sad there are so many bigots, racists and overall dumbasses who found the election of an equally racist bigot as an excuse to celebrate, but that small margin of people, even in such a trivial thing as a KZbin video, still gives me hope.

These movies do little more than show the sentiment of certain segments of the nations they came from in their respective time periods. Ultimately, they don't really influence the attitude of the general public on immigration and they have no way of knowing what the future trends or sources of immigration will be.

listen all ignorant and non-ignorant people, we all have our roots in immigration, wether it be from the 1700's and so on, unless you are a native American descent. It's very wrong to be xenophobic because clearly if you have a mind that works, you know that you aren't a native American. We are all immigrant descendants wether it be from native/Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa, etc. Our descendants came for a reason which could range from religious freedom to opportunities. SO WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO GET ALONG!
