I totally agree! The 550 is a very particular kind of car. It smells good, looks good, drives amazingly well and beter yet: the crappy Italian way of building a car! Fiat switches all over the place, bundles of wire getting loose under the dash, etc etc etc. If you would, you could very easily think it's a crappy car! I just like to think it adds romance. You can't know what black is, until you've also seen white, right? Once the engine fires... and you hear that beautiful rumble and the sound of the airflow in and through the inlet... The moment you hear the click when you put it in first gear through the gated shifter... I melt in awe every time!

Hi Ed, Glenn here Nouri ‘s friend. Great video. I had a Lotus Exige S that I sold for a nice profit, but I miss that car. Get a ppi on any Exige, they are fragile and damage easily. The V12 manual Vantage that you mentioned was sold in model years 2011-2012. here in the U.S. the manual 2017 Vantage S pushed the prices down to low $100k. One just sold on BAT in the 90’s before fees. I have driven them, what a beast, twice the car of the V8 Vantage and I agree the price has no place to go but up. I should have bought a 997 GT2 when they were $120k five years ago. But I did buy a 993 Turbo four years ago and that has doubled in value. I agree best Porsche of 2000’s is 997 GT2 and best Porsche of the 90’s (not counting 959) is the 993 Turbo. I had a E46 M3, manual coupe, sunroof delete. Stick shift wagons like the S4 you mentioned will do well too. I had the sedan. Keep up the good work.

Surprised there are no JDM legends like the the R32, R33 or the R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R, Honda/Acura NSX Type R gen 1 and gen 2. I think these are under rated but are now going up in value. Also surprised just how many cars I've put on my list are here that I want to get in the future once I start earning from my business! :D The manual Murcielago Spyder, Gallardo gen 2, Audi R8 V10, Aston Martin DBS, Ferrari 360 Spyder and the SLR. I just hope prices don't go sky high once I gather enough money for any of these cars. Thanks for the amazing advice Ed! Always a great video by you. :)
@Wodz306 жыл бұрын
I think once you actually drive these cars you will start to understand them better and refine your list. For example the 360 is a nice car..but there are a number of problems that you would have to deal with. The F430 is comparatively a MUCH better value..in literally every way possible. Murciealgo's are fantastic..if you take care of them. I always avoid e-gear. Real debate is 640 vs 670. Not a fan of the Gallardo at all. Hurican is a MUCH better investment Not a fan of the Audi R8's. Great cars but.. if you have the other cars in your garage the only purpose of the R8 is redundancy DBS is a great car. I am not stupid enough to invest in British cars lol Absolutely hate the SLR and SLS. People are getting good value for them but it is not for me. Now that delicious R34 Skyline GT-R you mentioned... that is an amazing kit!!

I feel like a proper left or right hand drive Mazda RX7 will become more valuable in the next couple of years. R34 GTR's are already going up in price like crazy not to mention a R33 and R32 GTR's. Old Datsuns like a 240/260/280z is a very good investment today in my opinion cause you can drive it and the value will stay. I also think a good clean Nissan 180sx/200sx/240sx will go up in price too especially an S13 and it's a great investment especially a super clean RHD 180sx Type X they are gorgeous cars. Honda Integra Type R and Civic Type R's will be a great investment cause they are not crazy money right now and I think in the next 5-10 years they could double there prices cause people are starting to realise how great these cars are. I also think in terms of Euro cars like you said Ed that an E46 M3 and an E39 M5 is great car to buy now but prices of the E36 M3 3.2 and Evo models will really go up in price once the later models reach the 25 year rule oh and a good clean E30 (not an M3) is a great car it's really fun and the prices will go up once the M3 reaches it's price that only collectors could afford. Also the cars that should be bought right now in my opinion are old Alfa Romeo GTV's and Giulias also E30 M3 and Audi Coupe Quattro, Air cooled 911's/early water cooled 911's, Toyota Corrola AE86's, manual Gallardo's especially the RWD versions oh and the previous gen ZL1/Z28 and the current Shelby GT350/GT350R will really go up in value. I have a lot more cars on my list and I could come up with a lot but I won't write it all down cause it wouldn't fit. Awesome video keep up the good work VinWiki. 😁

It has *everything* - truly analog car, 6 speed manual, Lotus designed suspension, no power anything (not even the AP Racing brakes), no nannies except ABS, scissor doors, bespoke interior, NA V8 that sounds amazing. Rare as hen's teeth - only ~250 in the world and about 75 in the US. What's not to love? I didn't quite understand the gripe about the electronics - never heard a peep about that from other owners. I would add the manual V10 R8 and even the manual V8. The manual V8 doesn’t have a Lamborghini counterpart so this helps but I doubt it will never be more expensive than a manual V10. Another one is the Corvette Z06 with the Z07 package. This is a sleeper to me. This could end up being like the gt3 vs gt2 where this naturally aspirated v8 (flat 6 of course in Porsche and turbo charged as opposed to supercharged in the corvette) could be worth more than than the forced induction (which was more expensive when new in both the case of the Porsche and Corvette) counterpart to the ZO6 the ZR1. The regular Z06 I done see it as as good an investment because of high production numbers as opposed to the Z07 with low production numbers and rarity as well as the great options included in that Z07 package. The carbon series Z06 will be an even better investment if you can find one. Ed Bolian tell me your thoughts please. I was actually in the car business for over 10 years (sold everything from Hyundai’s and Subaru’s to BMW, Porsche and Audi) with my longest stint at a bmw dealership in NJ for almost 7 years. Great channel too!!!!

Do you think c5 z06 have hit its bottom? I'm thinking of picking up a commemorative edition z06

I’ve always wanted the BMW Z8. It’s a pretty beautiful car.

Good thing I bought my low mile immaculate E39 M5 a year and a half ago. I also love the gated shift 550M’s and I also love the 575M’s. Ed do you think modification would severely impact the value of the 996 GT2? My friend’s is highly modified, but it’s a low mile black/black GT2.

As long as it can be reversed, it is fine.

Lol that’d be a hard one. Tial turbos and single mass flywheel come to mind for starters.

What about Skyline R32's R33 and R34 GTR's especially the R34 Vspec 2 when it rolls to 2024.

Nice, my lotus exige made the list. Ed, I was given a 2001 bmw z8. What do you think the long term potential of that car is? And I also own a 1993 Porsche Rs America, which I will never sell. But do you think the air-cooled market will still keep appreciating?

Mercedes 190e cosworth with the dog-leg manual and Subaru RS2.5 Coupe are my two underdog picks.

LMFAO. The way you reverse the 190 was to get out and have your mates grab the wing and spin it around 180

Ed, what are your thoughts on the manual F430s, those had a good run the last 2 years and have stalled out a bit, will these continue to go up? And what do you think of the 7speed dogleg vantage v12 vs the earlier ones? Is the extra money for the 7 speed cars going to be worth in 5 years.

The manual Gallardos, R8s, and 430s are a bit different. Difficult to say. Might need to make a video addressing them. They are not selling great right now.

I think the Porsche 997.2 GT3RS will appreciate since it was the last GT3RS you could buy in a manual transmission. Thoughts?

how do you feel about 6mt gallardo's especially the early spyders?
@ousi005 жыл бұрын
The limited edition V8 Ferraris sometimes are good deal. The 360 CS went skyrocketed, 430 Scud stay approximately the same price-wise, and then the Speciale and Pista went 2x the sticker price when new.

I’d say R34 GTRs for sure , although it might be at its peak but who really knows because in the past few years they’ve doubled if not tripled in price

Ed, would you mind elaborating on how important colour choice is for some of the respective cars on the list (or in general for that matter)? Thanks for the great content.

For the less rich, a 2015 Jaguar F-Type R. Only coupe year w/ RWD. 550hp. New $100-$125k. Now $60k. A true collector as everything went to boring AWD in 2016. Not saying you'll get rich off of it, but I bet you can sell the car ten years later for what you paid for it and have TONS OF FUN.
