except you might want to actually have money (at least 20% of your dream car) saving money is good but investing wisely is the #1. it actually makes you money on top of your savings you use to invest. im saying this as someone who started investing with $500 CAN couple mounths ago and im amazed at how much money i made. fomoco and canadian banks and weed make for so much money. I decided to buy a '10 -'13 stick shift camaro ss next spring with part of my savings. That or something like a 70 monte carlo which will hold/gain value (better than my 81 camaro). I can get 6% yearly dividends from fomoco stocks so if they are willing to finance for lower intererest... go figure.

I'm going to save close to 20k this years and next year and make thousands on the stock market, with a tax free savings account. until I get close to 250K. Remember more capital=more capital gains/time. Currently I make hundreds a week on stocks with less than 2k in that account. I'm more of a muscle car fan but with close to 1/2 million theres no reason not to have a 2 years finance on a stick shift V12 Ferrari.

Having recently bought my realistic dream car 1 week ago today, I can say do this: Work hard Save hard Be patient ( I waited 2 years to be in the right position, and 4 months for the right car/spec ) Do your research, then do it again, and keep doing it. Enjoy it, and look after it. ALWAYS have a backup stash, things creep up and can be expensive! Car is a 2017 Lotus Exige Sport 350 :)

I saw a lot of people being told to never get a credit card in high school. Those people will never live in a nice house or drive a nice car because they never bothered to develop a credit score. The American system is designed for those who have credit. Things are way too expensive to save up and buy in cash. You are not going to save for 25 years and buy a house it just isn’t going to happen.
@potterfanz6780
@potterfanz6780 4 жыл бұрын
@@domnoya4130 yes, a house you do need a mortgage for because you need somewhere to live while you're paying it off. But everything else? I don't think so. Save up, then buy your TV. Save up, then buy your computer. Buy a cheap old car, and while you're driving that around save up for a few years and then buy the nicer one. People who live off of credit aren't used to checking if they can afford something before they buy it.

Out of all of the good advice, what is really worth taking note of is what he said in the end. "Sometimes, the story of how you end up there is more fun than the car you end up in." That is 100% true, and honest. Loved that. Don't miss the now for the goal.

What does he mean by that? Like the process of looking for the car and financing it. I remember buying my Porsche being a lot of work and feeling relieved after I finally drove away with it. I certainly don’t think the process of getting the car was funner than having the car it was mostly a pain in the ass while driving the car is very fun.

Nails it. I never expect any money back out of mods. I did dump a lot of money into an A6 and it was all top tier stuff. That’s the only car that I got some of my money back. Kind of... trade in was $10k less than I owed. I sold to a private buyer who appreciated the mods. It was pure luck I found that perfect buyer.

The esteemed Mr Bolian may be one of the greatest auto story tellers of our time. The way he unravels automotive stories, knowledge and general common sense advice with his velvety baritone voice coupled with a very dry and for all intents and purposes coy sarcastic humour is really refreshing and captivating. Definitely a success factor to the growth of this channel and his business. Would be fun to work with.

Just recently stumbled upon this channel and I was mainly focusing on Ed's stories for a while. His voice, rhythm of speech and let's say, his alternate ways to describe the "slight imperfections" of his clients pretty much got me hooked on this. Since I'm working as a sales manager, I noticed the way he talks to his clients or the people he's buying cars from and I started to apply his way of gently persuading people at work and in life. Ed, I really have to thank you for improving the overall quality of my life. *Thank you, Ed.*

So a few things here that I wanted to note. As a financial professional, increasing your credit limit does NOT increase your credit score. This is a common misunderstanding I've found. Moreover, having larger limits on your credit cards or line of credit can actually decrease your chances of getting approved. This is due to the Gross Debt Services and Total Debt Services (GDS/TDS) formulas that underwriters and retail banks use to determine whether someone's annual income is supported with a new loan (e.g a 300k supercar). Now it's important that if you are typically nearing your credit limit every month, or even exceeding it, then you should indeed increase your credit limit so you do not pay any extra penalties for exceeding said limit. This is a great informative video, I just don't want anyone receiving any wrong information on how credit bureaus and debt approvals work.

I have no dreams of grandeur to ever own an exotic vehicle, but I do appreciate a story from "Ed, like the horse". I nominate that lad named "Do it with Dan" to tell some of his stories on your set as I think he is from the Atlanta area as well. It will probably sound like, "Bleep-bleep-bleep, motorcycle", but I noticed a lot of the people here are on the same Ant Abduction schedule. Mr. Regular would be awesome as well.
