Great analysis. I've always considered hopkins the best MW of all time, longevity, and alot of great victories at 160 against good fighters in their primes...Hagler was always the toss up for me...Insane to think SRR is a top 10 welterweight AND middleweight all time..not many can say that.

The RIng is now owned by Golden Boy, which is Canelo's promotor, don't look any further for the bias. He got named the best middleweight in 2015 when fighting at a catchweight James Kirland and Miguel Cotto. In 2016, he fought Khan and Liam smith (at 154), so how the fuck can he be the best during those years facing no middleweights makes me furious. We can argue for Cotto, but the rest is a shame.

the fabulous four if Hagler would of fought Carlos Monzon in the 70’s which was possible he would not have beaten him. Hagler would not have been ready for him until about 1982 and he would of had a rough road.

Fell in love with boxing watching Jim Watt as a Scotsman but then seen hagler, hearns Duran and sugar Ray, then mid to late 80s we were lucky enough to have Watson Benn eubank and honestly I've never heard of any of the 60s middle weights, miss boxing so much now, didn't calzaghe beat Hopkins, might be a bit controversial but thought Joe never had much power

I think Hagler beats him on professional slickness, not that G doesn't have it coz wat G dont have in slickness hes disregarded in favor of Soviet Cyborg, Seek & Destroy Terminator like efficiency. G beats him on size & tempo. Both have similar power Both have similar chins Both have similar will to win Would be one HELL OVA FIGHT but Id edge toward Hagler, he might just be too street smart for him, earned everything the hard way & held on to wat he earned with all his might. G came up through the amateurs to the HIGHEST level & therefore has a more sporting attitude ingrained. Totally a 50/50 battle tho it'd be won & lost in the finest of fine margins.

Hagler was another level of "tough" in those days
@itsthehouse8462
@itsthehouse8462 6 жыл бұрын
Hagler. He faced a lonnnnnggg list of underrated and dangerous MW's and could fight any style of fight. His infighting would give golovkin enormous problems. In order to beat a prime hagler you have to be a great mover like SRL...getting into exchanges with hagler is suicide, and golovkin would initiate that...Though golovkin has a killer jab i doubt he'd be able to keep hagler on the outside to be able to land that Jab. i think hagler is the harder puncher of the two, with a more versatile skillset. Golovkin only faced two real challenges in his career and didn't look "great" in either fight.
@dfwboxingisback9173
@dfwboxingisback9173 6 жыл бұрын
I love both fighters, but it would not have even been close in my opinion. As was stated the 80's was a different level of "tough". GGG would have been just another good Middleweight in the 80s. MIchael Nunn possibly beats him.

Go watch them fight they were at a different level Greb was the only one out of all those names that was beating prime hall of famers at light heavyweight as a middleweight, beat more hall of famers than all of them combined at 160+ in a time where everyone was a fighter and everybody had insane activity.
