karsten69 because the best stuff is still honestly 1.7.10 and will be for a while, it's like how Tekkit classic was fun for years after 1.4 and beat out most things until about 1.6 and was above par until 1.7 and it still holds up today

Malini Correa Orespawn is not bad mod, but it is really OP and some of the textures just doesn't look good. If I was looking for similar (huge, RPG style) mod, I'd probably go with AoA. I fully agree with you in the other mods, but I'd add Thermal Expansion, MFR, Witchery or Botania.

Thaumcraft, industrial craft 2, Advent of Ascension, TerraFirma, Aether 2, Backpacks, Minefactory Reloaded, Divine Rpg, Tinkerers Construct, and Twilight Forest. Those are some of my favorites for many reasons, but I don't play minecraft with one or two mods, I prefer Modpacks with 20+ mods because its more interesting that way. BTW Nevermine 3: Forgotten Worlds is my single favorite modpack It can be found on technic launcher, but it uses a lot of processing power to run because of the 30+ dimensions (mostly from Advent of Ascension and DivineRPG). Also I must agreed that NEI is really good, especially when used with a bunch of other mods.

...I feel like this list came out a year ago... That said, total overhaul mods should be at least considered, like TerrafirmaCraft an BetterThanWolves. And magic mods have been topped by Thaumcraft, Blood Magic and Botania for a while. I barely ever see Ars Magica. Of course this is only my observations and opinion, so...there is that.

I've actually never heard of that mod. (Surprising, since I've been playing since beta XD) I'll look it up now. Edit: I've seen it made reference to, but have never actually played it. Edit of Edit: I take that back AGAIN. I've played that once on the "Diamond Dimensions" modpack, but not enough to make judgments about it.

+Archandria It is such an awesome mod Over 20 unique dimensions, over 300 mobs, over 100 weapons, over 20 bosses, and so many decorative blocks for the builders. Unlike mods like Orespawn, Advent of Ascension adds legitimate RPG elements such as the skill levelling and the unique weapons and items such as the staves,cannons,greatswords,archerguns, and the scythes that drop from the 4 current final bosses, Also all the bosses have unique abilities,drops, even battle music and unique health bar's. It's not everyone's cup of tea but I do still think the mod is underrated.

I actually preferred Millénaire over Minecraft Comes Alive. It adds entirely new villages to the game and a lot more interactivity. Villages have an economy, upgrade system, and may even go to war with neighboring villages. Sadly, it's still a few versions behind.
