Because the episode starts out retconning the entire Pear family into existence for literally no reason. There was literally no mention of any Pears throughout the series. We've seen Aunt and Uncle ORANGE, and now we still don't know how they're related. In fact the only reason the "Pears" exist at all is so that Apple Bloom can say "Grand-pere" which is French (or Fancy) for grandpa/grandfather and sounds like "Grand Pear". If they're going to base a random new family around ONE word that is a callback to TWO MINUTES of AB speaking French, instead of using the ACTUAL family members we've been introduced to, there's a huge problem. Not to mention, there were so many forced attempts to link the parents to the children, such as when Bright Apple is honest ONE TIME and suddenly he's "obviously" the parent to the Element of Honesty, despite the fact that ONE honest moment does not mean a damn thing (I'm sure even politicians are honest once in awhile), and when Pear Butter tells Mrs. Cake how to get her Cutie Mark (which was bullshit when the CMC were said to have done it. Cutie Marks literally do not work that way. Every pony finds their own Cutie Mark when it's time. Nobody has EVER had to tell them how until they decided it would be a good idea. It wasn't.) and also there were the characters that either showed up out of nowhere (like the "family friend" that has never showed up before) or the people that suddenly remember stories about the Apple parents that they've neglected to mention for the TEN YEARS since the parents' disappearance, or how about the "family feud" (once again. This was the second "family feud" in the show. I don't know why they think that happens so often) that was the cause of all of the issues, when Granny Smith has only ever been angry at Flim and Flam, and she wasn't even very angry at THEM, but suddenly we're supposed to believe that she's mad enough at the Pears for the feud? Or how about the fact that the Pear orchard miraculously appears directly next to Sweet Apple Acres despite NO pear trees EVER being shown in ANY of the panoramic landscape views of the farm in the first 6 seasons? If those pear trees were 10 feet away from the Apple trees, we would have seen them before. And how about that "twisted tree" that suddenly appears. You're telling me that the Apples harvest the apples from EVERY TREE, EVERY YEAR and not ONCE did they notice it before? Or the pear orchard that is feet away from their own orchard? And probably the WORST part of the episode is that it DOES NOT tell us WHAT happened to the parents. Literally nobody in the fandom was asking "how did the Apple parents meet?" but instead were ALL asking "WHERE ARE THEY NOW?" and "WHAT HAPPENED TO THE APPLE PARENTS?" and this episode does not answer that question in the slightest. It's full of retcon for literally no reason and bullshit writing shortcuts and terrible characterization and forced plot points. That does not make for a good episode. Also, that song sucked terribly.

You’re in My Head like a catchy song is my favourite too. It is so sweet and heartwarming. I wish Bright Mac and Pear Butter were not dead, makes me sad knowing they are. I also love seeing all the RD and Scootaloo moments in Campfrire Tales, since it is a sweet episode for my two most favourite ponies.

The moments of Big Mac and Sugar Belle are definitely my most favourites; these two are my most favourite couple in the show, and they make me feel happy when I see them together (I even like their cameo in "It Isn't the Mane Thing About You"). "You're in My Head Like a Catchy Song" is also a nice moment and song to listen to when thinking about Bright Mac and Pear Butter, Starlight saying "you didn't even say you were sorry" is so stunning, and Rainbow Dash saying, "We're not playing that!" is so hilarious.

The Perfect Pear episode shatters me man! Even if its just one part, i couldn't keep my tears from appearing xD I love that episode the most. No doubt to me atleast, Applejack's Mother is the best Earth Pony ever. She truly seems like an angel in the shape of an Earth Pony. A prime example of how you can make a truly special character, without being too op or mary sue! Doesn't really take much at all :D I sure am too attached, but im glad Pear Butter exists ^^ I also very much so liked seeing Daybreaker. An official alter ego of Celestia finally made an appearance!
