I 1,000% agree with #1. You can't think of Courage without Ramases being the very first episode to pop in your head. But one episode I wish people would talk about is the puppeteer one, "The Great Fusilli". The ending to that one where Courage's owners both become marionette puppets, that Courage has to operate, always made me feel uncomfortably sad and freaked out as a kid. The places your mind goes with that ending are a real rabbit hole morbid-ness. Are they dead, and Courage is playing with corpses? Are they alive forever trapped in wooden puppet bodies? It's just plain creepy, and no one ever talks about it.

First off, THANK YOU! For not getting "It's Doc. Gerbil's World" stuck in my head, lol. I thought sure that episode would make this list. Second, I couldn't agree more with your #1 on #2 picks. My husband and I often reference Fred with the way he says "Naughty". And King Ramsey's"Return the Slab or suffer my curse" endeared this series to my whole family(Mom, Dad, me, and my brother) when it aired. Ustes and Mirriel reminded my parents of my dad's father and my mom's grandmother(both of whom passed away the same week of my junior year of high school) and this episode earned this series the nickname "The Selma and Clyde Show" in our home. My brother and I LOVED the "King Ramseys Demonic Arts" song riff in this episode and I couldn't help but notice how Ramsey's himself looked a lot like that one character in TV commercials during the Beatljuice cartoon. Great list!

That creature scared me so much and I had nightmares about it grabbing me through the bed and then dragging me down and tearing me to shreds. I re-watched that episode and I noticed I missed all of the jokes there. Like the wack-a-mole part. Or when the doctor tells murel that there's nothing to worry about when her hand is massive. The one with Fusili always creeped me out so much as a kid...especially when Courage opens the closet to find all the humanlike puppets just hanging there. I have no clue why, but I also always think about that scene at the end of the gerbil episode in which Courage is floating away down the river to escape, and there's this unexpectedly beautiful opera music playing lol. "The Mask" has my favorite storyline of any Courage episode. Also, the episode with the space squids (Last of the Starmakers, I think) is one of my favorites.

When they are talking out in the fenced area of the military base and you can see all the stars in the background. It has this perfect void of sound that makes it feel like you are actually there watching the night sky all alone. Also I'm constantly haunted by the number 8 in that episode, something that randomly enters my mind every once in awhile.

In the episode that features Katz for the first time, you say you recall it being the only episode in the entire series where Muriel saves Courage from certain doom, but in episode “Muted Muriel” Muriel’s voice saves Courage from being crushed by that gigantic green creature

The one I always remember when Muriel turns into a child. "Hi I'm Muriel. I'm only three and a half years old. Who're you?" And "More cheese, less noodle."

Mine was as well. And the one that scared me so bad. More than the slab or perfect episode that everyone else says scared them. I guess I'm the only one who was scared of this episode

I didn’t appreciate how good TV was when I was a kid…like I loved all those shows on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, but I just didn’t appreciate it at the time. 1999 to 2002 was ages 6-9 for me. So the transition from being a little guy, barely not a toddler anymore to being a proper kid with actual interests and opinions. I miss those times.

I was hoping for the first episode with Le Quack because it’s not a scary episode but really focuses on the raw humor of the series. The part that sells me is the response by the police and the part where Courage blows up Le Quack in mid jump, him still in the air, all charred and his response is “How annoying.”

The Slab episode is my top favorite simply because of Ramses' catchy song. It never gets old
