The yoruba sculpture never forced the world on anything .they were only discovered Buried under the earth about 90 to 100 yrs ago..so you need to make amends to this nonsense mistake. ..it was the Benin kingdom sculptures " 500yrs ago that changed the European world views on Africa and the black race in general. And books where written by bout potogues and holland about this highly civilised society of the Benin empire even a sketch of the city state was drawn by the first white man that visited..and the story of wide roads and sweet lights made of palm oil lamps in the streets at night was written by him.

@@jenohavin yeah, the Bafour have been extinct since somewhere around the 17th century. And there's question of whether all those tribes are from the Bafour. Only two tribes are currently well known to be the direct descendants of the Bafour, the Soninke and Imraguen, both of whom can still be found in Mauritania. As for the others, as Ras Moise pointed out, there's a possibility, since I'm also just an amateur historian.

I am African American, and had the pleasure of spending some time among the Zulu people in Durban (South Beach, Durban). Was fortunate enough to experience a Zulu Safari, and experience the Zulu culture via Safari where the Zulu put on a show for us doing tribal dances with singing in their native tongues, got to go inside their huts and see the strips of bamboo used to construct their huts. Learned about the seating positions inside certain huts based on gender and in effort to have men in advantageous positions in case of an attack. Also witnessed the way the Zulu's make beer, and also drank some of the beer. Aside from the Safari, experiencing modern day Zulu culture in South Beach, Durban was an eye-opening experience. While in Durban, I learned that there is a lot of Zulu pride. There are other ethnics groups in South Africa but Zulu have so much status in Durban that it was nothing short of amazing. I was glad to see that there exist African cultures that are so well respected and have so much pride. I look forward to experience more African Ethnicities in-person one of these days.

Hausa should make it but the Igbo are somewhat newcomers, claiming Jewish ancestry that has never been proven anywhere but in their stubborn arrogance over it. The farthest you can get of them is from the 19th century... The Igbos never developed a kingdom, talkless of Empire, so how can they make the list... Have you noticed how they are perceived all over Africa and the world... Unfortunately, foreigners see them as they see other Africans and Nigerians... But they just a bunch of self centered tribe of peoples. Few of them are ok BC though.

It is on record and even unconsciously mentioned in this video that the Yorubas are the only Africans on record, who have consciously colonized the minds, hearts and souls of their colonizers, in the western hemispheres, without shedding blood or forcing it on anyone. In the whole western hemisphere, Orisha worship, which is 100% Yoruba religion, is more than 70% of the culture of the Southern Americas and even parts of North & central America, not to forget Cuba & the Caribbeans. And the Yoruboid people worldwide are about 120 million peoples, according to the CIA world fact book/Wikipedia and in Nigeria alone, we are more than 55 million peoples. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoruba_people#targetText=The%20Yoruba%20constitute%20about%20120,largest%20ethnic%20groups%20in%20Africa. No other group have launched Africa than the Yoruba's and no other African tribe have influence non African cultures globally like the Yorubas have done. They are also in Ghana, Sierraleon, Togo, Benin Republic and Liberia just to mention a few.

The Yoruba ethnic group is actually the most popular in Africa having indigenous peoples in at least 5 to 6 African nations and also Carribean countries as well as the Americas. As a matter of fact, only the Yoruba religion is classified as a world religion from Africa. It is ranked the 6th most influential religion in the world.

There are at least 10 ETHNICITIES IN EACH COUNTRY. This list makes no sense whatsoever. Seems unbelievable that a black person came up with this. A white man would be called all sorts of names if he dared to categorize blacks in the same manner. People will start to compete to belong to one group over another as seen on KZbin, because this is showing them which rank has MORE LIKES (Facebook-style).

The Yoruba is highly underrated. there is no tribe that has survived slavery and export African culture like us the Yoruba. The Hausas, Fulani, Zulus and Ashanti, to mention a few, are only continental or even regional champions...The yorubas, stuck to their culture and influenced their colonizers with it till tomorrow...Hausa is now 95% Islam, Zulu is almost Christianized and only the Yoruba, retained their Ifa/Orisha worship and religion intact and even refined. This video is awesome, but the Yoruba should take the 1st position...and this is not because I'm a proud Yoruba, its just the fact.
@dennisowusu8247
@dennisowusu8247 4 жыл бұрын
Tope Esekutive if you going to make an argument on which tribe retained its culture the most even after colonization then no doubt it should be Ashanti. It shouldn’t even be a debate. It explains why even though Ghana is officially an English speaking country, Twi ( language of Ashanti’s) is actually the most spoken language in every corner of the country. Ashanti man in any where in the world is soo proud of his culture. Y’all have made pidgin English the most popular language in your country like your indigenous languages never existed
