My favorite show of progress was the 3 sand genin during the Sasuke rescue arc. They never said it but the outfit change made it clear they got promoted to chunnin and they all grew subtly stronger in their skills and finishedwhat the leaf village kids could not.

what was the time difference between the Konoha crush arc and the Sasuke retrieval arc? Was it like a month or so? I don't remember now, but if they got that much stronger in just a few weeks, it shows their potential.

Konica crush happens August 1st. Naruto&Jiraiya leave to look for Tsunade and Itachi appears all on August 3rd. The 3 Sannin showdown is on September 1st. Shikamaru is promoted to Chunin after Tsunade becomes Hokage but before his 13th birthday on September 22nd. Sasuke Retrieval arc must happen between October 10th and 31st because Naruto is 13 years old now. Sakura then trains with Tsunade for 3 months, and then Naruto leaves with Jiraiya in January or February for two years, returning in January or February. It’s stated to have been 2 years since he left and 2 and a half years since Itachi appeared.

I enjoyed the video, the only thing I thought was super odd was including 'healthy Kimimaro' but not counting the gates for Lee. Other than that, maybe Itachi stays under Minato because at this point in the story Kurama is definitely viewed as a bigger threat than the Akatsuki. I would say that one doesn't have a clear winner since we only know Minato managed to seal Kurama but I still think that puts him above anything we've directly seen in the show because we haven't seen anything to indicate Itachi could do anything against Kurama.

I actually think that enhanced the story quite a bit. We get to see what our protagonists are gonna be capable of eventually but without destroying the power ceiling because all of those Kage level fighters go into the background or die. All the hokage die, Orochimaru is crippled, and so we're just left with Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Itachi going into the Sasuke retrieval arc and Shippuden

I missed some things as a kid. I didn't notice the 3rd summoning a monkey and I didn't know what was happening with reaper death seal so I was really confused and amazed by this battle as a kid. I never forgot parts of it until rewatching in high school

Loved the video. Wanted to share this theory to the Orochimaru-Hiruzen fight...Both Orochimaru & Hiruzen were holding back against each other for sentimental reasons. Despite walking down a path of evil; Orochimaru couldn't bring himself to kill his former master with his own hands. Hence why he used weak Edo versions of both Tobirama & Hashirama which was not only a fraction of their true power but both much weaker than Orochimaru in those weaker Edo states to do all the fighting for him. Orochirmaru never attempted to gang attack with them nor make any real killing moves towards Hiruzen until his own soul became at stake. We see Orochimaru using more arsenal & offensive attacks against a 4-tails fox state Naruto 3 years later. Keeping in mind, Orchimaru was slightly weaker here with his body failing him at the time; yet is still showing as to be having fun playing & testing Naruto in this state. Playing/testing a version of Naruto that was too much for Jiriaya to handle which nearly killed pervy sage. We also later see Orochirmaru's dragon mode which is safe to say he had that ability at the time of the Crush Leaf Village Arc. Orochirmaru may have wanted to crush Hiruzen's spirits and possibly have him killed; just not by his own hands unless he absolutely had no chance.

I enjoyed watching this video, I believe it would've been better if there was a top 10 for the arc and then a separate top 10 overall for the series up to whichever arc you're up to, but it makes sense if you didn't want to do that especially because it would've taken a lot longer to make it

I really enjoyed this video, I agree with a couple other comments I have seen though that I don’t think Lee with gates and naruto with 9 tails amp in Haku fight should be classified as both situational, since naruto couldn’t control his amp whereas lee could’ve theoretically busted it out whenever he wanted, so I think the gates should’ve been included in his potential and made him the strongest genin for that arc besides gaara. I also think for a future video like this it would be great to have the time stamps in the video that show where you talk about each arc so they can be skipped back and forth to!

i remember a bunch. i remember not caring about it nearly as much as dragon ball. idk where i jumped in exactly, i saw a bit of the beginning i saw the important stuff like sexy jutsu and naruto saving iruka and the zabuza arc but missed school and bell test. i got like half the chunin exaams , saw orochimaru and anko. then i saw the hokage battle and started keeping up with it. started reading it again and staying up to date with the manga in highschool like 2017. i stopped with boruto but i check in every no and then.

You can't include a healthy Kimimaru in this list and then not Gates Lee or 9 tails amped Naruto. Gates and 9 tails amp, we actually see: we dont see healthy Kimimaru. Also, Kimimaru is based off statements. If that is so, then people like Hiruzen, who is considered the strongest Hokage ever, a "God of Shinobi", strongest of the current 5 kage should be above Minato. Similarly, Kisame has the really dumb Jiraya statement where he says that him and Itachi would lose to Jiraya because hes strong af. Jiraya also being offered the position of Hokage next, until he deferred in favour of Tsunade.

great video! just one thing: since the 4th used the reaper death seal on the 9 tailes, he cant be summoned by orochimaru in edo tensei. either thats the reason why the summoning stopped or a theory i red, that makes a lot of sense that says, that this is the 4th kazekage, since orochimaru killed him before. tbh i think thats just a plothole and the whole fight of minato vs kurama wasnt rly planned at that point, or maybe was planned differently.

The rankings were pretty good, tho I disagree with your ranking of Jiraiya with the information we had, in the Sannin showdown arc full power Jiraiya should above or equal to Itachi due to itachis & kisames statements, Not only that but we get a better feel for Jiraiyas abilities in the arc with him showing off an arguably mountain sized fire style, earth style & toad jutsu. I think the Top 5 for the Sannin showdown would go more like 1. Minato 2. Jiraiya 3. Itachi 4. Orochimaru 5. Hiruzen

I think one of the greatest things that early Naruto did was gaslight me into believing that Naruto isn't a prodigy. In the beginning he was just bad at most things and barely managed to keep up through determination. But it looked like people like Sasuke or Neji would completely outgrow him. And then Jiraya just casually looks at his seal and goes "oh somebody added something that completely blocks his chakra; let me remove that" and after that Naruto just picks up most things instantly and those that take others years, he picks up in days. But it was played to casually that it took me a long time to realise how much of a talent he has.

I always wish orochimaru vs hiruzen was actually more high scale than it was only because Naruto vs gaara is crazy for a 2 genin fight, it would have been a nice contrast to show how crazy they are but here’s 2 Kage level making that look like nothing. I also wish orochimaru turned out to be the final villain somehow cause we never got to see his actual full potential with his arms and everything. In the hiruzen fight he mostly just lets the edos do the fight like he doesn’t actually do that much.

If he left prematurely, he wouldn't have the intel for Naruto. Even if he had the intel, Tendo restraining himself proves too strong for a stronger SM Naruto, meaning that even if Jiraya somehow had the intel, Tendo would still beat his ass.

Just remember that we know Pain lead the Rain Village during the Chuunin exams, Jigen was canonically walking the planet the entire time. This means that (A) the Akatsuki leader didn’t think to invade Konoha when he already had a good chunk of his village present and two Jinchuuriki were noticeably weaker, pretty much guaranteeing victory; and (B) at no point did the Otsutsuki actively walking the planet hear wind of 9 or more guys, one of which was likely a walking Karma mark, were trying to round up the Tailed beasts with the intention of raising the ten tails and, by proxy, his backstabbing cousin who now has eaten a divine tree’s fruit.
