the point of the Electoral college is to stop candidants from only campaigning in a few states, and to help combat cheating, like the democrats tried. You know the states the demanded a recount, well it turned out that Hillary actually got less votes and Trump got more.

they still spend finances in other states, but there are still states that just will never vote the other candidate so theres no need to campaign there. Even with the electoral college CA and NY and TX are still big states and the 2 of the are states that always vote democrate.
