And he didn't even reference 80's Hakeem who could have won more titles had Ralph not gotten hurt and took out not only the Showtime Lakers in '86 but also was a MAN against arguably the GOAT team in the '86 Celtics. After Sampson's injury troubles, the Rockets were essentially a 1 man team until '95... and yes, that includes '94 when Hakeem won the title with Otis Thorpe as his #2. I would have rearranged some of the list and definitely would not have Howard in the top 10, but it was indeed a quality list with fair rankings.

Because of racism, they hate it when the myth that blacks are better at basketball is shattered. The same happened with Larry Bird they always brought up his color and pretended that is was so surprising a white boy could play funny most of the kids i grew up with were white and some black and the best players on our teams were the white guys especially three point shooters.. I bet their are many white players that do not get to play solely based on their skin color not their ability!!! Its too bad the NBA would do much better if the teams were like they were in the past half black and half white makes for a much higher quality played game plus it gives white kids and black kids players to relate to not that they can not with players of a different color but it makes it more assessable to know that one day they can play in the NBA also. I beleive that all sports should feature people of all races not just from one race of people. The Celtics had a good mix of white and black players and they have the most championships so that tells me it is also smart to have teams of equal parts white and black just makes the team better, You are right Bill was a beast and some say if he stayed healthy he would have been the top three in centers .@@jakestatefarm9034

Bob Pettit was a Power Forward for most of his career - specifically including the year he led the Hawks to the ONLY defeat of the Russell-era Celtics in a Finals series. Also keep in mind that Bill Russell had the Finals MVP award named after him - as a consolation prize for it not existing for 11 out of his 12 times IN the Finals or he probably WOULD have gotten it more times than anyone else. As far as block titles go - Bill and Wilt would BOTH have quite a few (and Kareem might have 1 or 2 more) had blocks been tracked before WIlt's retirement from the NBA. One other point to keep in mind - Bill not only won the MVP 5 years out of an 8 year stretch, he was also RUNNER UP 2 of those years - the strongest run EVER by ANYONE (Larry Bird is second, 3 wins 4 runner ups and missed in 1986 due to double heel surgery).

I agree that Hakeem is better than Wilt. Wilt relying upon pure athleticism while being more skilled. Pure athleticism is not a skill Hakeem had the best footwork of a center and post skills are more impressive than Wilt's. Especially with the competition he had compared to Wilt. Kareem,Willis, and Bill are amazing but Alonzo,SHAQ,Patrick Ewing, Greek God David Robinson(The Admiral). Are just more comp. And Kareem had Magic and Oscar but still lost the 74' 84' 89' finals. Wilt plumbers until the Lakers but Wilt was so old. Top 10 NBA players: 10: Tim Duncan 9. Bill Russell 8. Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon 7. Lebron James 6. Kobe Bryant 5. Earvin "Magic" Johnson 4. Larry Joe Bird 3. Lew Alcindor(Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr) Kareem Abdul Jabbar. 2. Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain 1. Michael Jordan. THE GOAT 🐐🐐🐐🐐

@Clan leader Predator Thank you. MJ is the GOAT. 6 rings to 6. But MJ has 6 finals MVPs to Kareem's 2. MJ was EASILY the best player in his league for his ENTIRE tenure with the Bulls and Kareem stopped being the best around 1980. MJ took 13 years to win 6 chips and Kareem took over 17. MJ had Pippen and Rodman as his best teammates but Kareem had Magic, Worthy, Cooper, and Oscar Robertson🤣.

Among the top six players featured here, Olajuwon finished at the bottom of the pile in the following important categories: LMVPs, LMVP shares, Career Contributions, Career Contributions per season, win shares, win shares per 48 minutes and MVP shares. And that's saying nothing of his PER, which beats out only one of the remaining players - one who just happened to be a defensive specialist.
@MixedTapeVideosNBA4 жыл бұрын
You could honestly put Hakeem outside of the top 4 and the list would still be legitimate, but for me, his overall game was just too versatile and complete that I don't feel comfortable don't crowning him the best center ever. He has the accolades, the resume, the dominance, the highlights. He is arguably the best defender ever or at least he's in the top 3 and when you take into consideration his offensive arsenal and playoff success, it just makes sense to me. But that's just the way I look at it, I'd love to see your list.
@Dark7ify4 жыл бұрын
@@MixedTapeVideosNBA I used to think the same but he just wasn't all that lol. Advanced stats essentially have him as tthe worst of the top 6 even though you take a broad sweeping look at accolades and he seems more impressive
@austinreed3473 жыл бұрын
@@Dark7ify The reason he sticks out above the rest to me even if his advanced stats aren’t the best was his one on one play against the best of the best. He played Patrick Ewing, Shaq, David Robinson, Charles Barkley, and he embarrassed those guys lol 😂 Come playoff time no one was better except MJ himself in the 1990s.

Stop the absolute cap. Wilt used pure athleticism with barely any offensive skills but a fadeaway Kareem lost multiple finals with Oscar and Magic 74' 84' 89' no question with superstar teammates. Hakeem ate SHAQ alive in 95' 4-0 SHAQ got swept with 2 brooms. Bill only had good defense and a superstar team and played with 8-14 teams. While Hakeem led a team in the hard big man era with no stars to 2 RINGS!!! Wilt has good defense but his individual star talent leaded him to ONLY 1 ring. By the time Wilt was in L.A he was old and focused more on defense. With a old Jerry West and Elgin Baylor. But got beat yet again by the celtics and a old Bill Russell. No questions asked. Kareem had multiple stars and went to more finals then his rings but lost with star teammates. Bill was a winner but had barely any talent then defense SHAQ had good footwork in his Orlando days but got fat then started relying on fat muscle after his Laker days

Yao Ming bullied Howard every game when they met
@MixedTapeVideosNBA4 жыл бұрын
Yao was surprisingly inefficient for a center, he wasn't half the rebounder Howard was, and his lack of playoff success widens the gap between them. Dwight had a matchup problem against Ming, as you said, but I still consider Howard a way better player.
